I know that people on here specifically rate the ice cream.. and it was okay delicious but my first experience was definitely not "all that". It was my first time and I was excited to try sweet moses ice cream for the first time. Seeing how busy it was and hearing what my friends had to say made me feel even more excited than usual to try out grade A ice cream. When i ordered a simple chocolate and sweet caramel ice cream cup (nothing too fancy), it looked delicious, however when i took a bite, it was more on the "gooey" side of texture. I had my friends feel that way also making comments like, " the ice cream is different. it never tastes like this." --- Anyways, going about it and just continuing to attempt to enjoy our ice cream, a friend of mine ordered the "razzle dazzle". A mix of tropical fruit drink with raspberry vinegar. Not noticing the vinegar part, when she took a sip she didnt like it. We went back to the front and apologized to the employee by informing HIM that we looked over the vinegar part not noticing and having no idea.. so we asked to get a vanilla ice cream and OH BOY did he not like that. The employee we spoke to was not wearing a uniform like the others which makes me assume he was manager. Not only did he not wear gloves while handling toppings like pretzels on peoples ice cream, but he had the AUDACITY to roll his eyes at my friend who sincerely apologized and asked for vanilla ice cream nicely. -- I understand you employees work hard.. we wouldnt take advantage of your hard work.. but that was the most disrespectful experience i have ever experienced. Will definitely find out his name and complain to a higher up. I know people have bad days, but he also came back to the table with a menu to prove his point about how the word "vinegar" was written in the menu.. (( we never attempted to argue with him about it in the first place)) we would have paid. Ice cream : 3/5 Wait time : 2/5 Customer service by busboys/boys who bring water to table : 5/5 That rude unprofessional manager: 0/5 -- All in all, customer service is important and i rate that a: 2/5 -- I work retail. I am more patient than you think. So for me to write a review is shocking. Hope all gets better!

For a city that gets bonechillingly cold for a good chunk of the year, Cleveland has a pretty good ice cream scene and Sweet Moses is one of the highlights. Its an authentic ice cream parlor/soda fountain, complete with antique cash registers, service counters and seating. The in-house ice cream is amazing. I think their Belgian chocolate is the best chocolate ice cream Ive ever had and their bananas foster ice cream is to die for. They make most everything in house and offer homemade root beer, pies, cookies and brownies, too. My favorites are their chocolate malt (served with a gigantic, striped paper straw), the Gordon Square (bananas foster ice cream served over a brownie and coated in guy fudge) and the The Terminal Tower (scoops of all their flavors of ice cream piled in a glorious mountain with tons of toppings. If one person eats the whole thing, they get their name on a plaque on the wall, but its way more fun to have a group attempt it. Even with six people, weve never succeeded.) The staff is friendly and flexible. I once wanted to buy a bunch of their amazing crunchy toffee that they use an ice cream topping, and despite it not being listed for sale, the gal at the counter went back, talked to the boss, worked out how much it would cost and packaged some up for me.

I pretty much NEVER write reviews of places but today I am, Yeah I saw the sign about how we are to imagine ourselves going back in time and everything is supposed to slow down but dude.....COME ON!!! I dont want to slow down in a line for half an hour and watch the staff literally taking so long to serve people it was like they were doing it on purpose. No joke. It was like that sign gave them license to take all the time in the world. I seriously felt like jumping over the counter and taking everyones orders and making all the stuff myself and I bet I could do it all in half the time and I dont care how old those appliances are. Those kids working behind the counter looked like their bodies were stuck in wet cement or something. I cant believe more people havent written reviews about this. The next time I wait half an hour in line for something it will be at the DMV or I better be getting paid for it.

We usually stop here before our movie at the Capitol Theatre. For the price of a couple scoops, sure you could buy a whole gallon of whatever brand you like from the grocery store. But thats not really the point of a date night I suppose. Also you cant really sneak a gallon of ice cream into the theater. I mean I guess you could but who eats an entire gallon of ice cream during a movie? I suppose if you are seeing one of those crummy sappy romantic flicks and you went alone, then maybe you are perfect for bringing a gallon of ice cream in your purse to the movies. I wont judge you, besides its dark. Otherwise just stop here before hand and split one of their sundaes. A lot less messy. Plus you get one free pretzel and they let you drink all the water you can handle! Which maybe isnt a good idea if youre about to watch a two hour long movie. But that pretzel sure is nice!

I always went there for the home made pies.So good. THAN THE PIE MAKER QUIT probably because they didnt pay him what he was worth. There new idea is to outsource mini pies from a local company which is not even close in quality or taste. POOR DECISION. I called to express my feelings and could not even get through.they have an answering machine. I wont be going back. UPDATE:I got my info from one of your employees, not assumptions. And GREY HOUSE pies are not the same level of quality or taste as your home made pies.I will not buy them period.Way too sweet. You people make enough profit there to continue to make your own pies. I was not born yesterday.Just look at the prices you command. Those pies were always a mover and many times sold out. I will not accept your answer.

Having dessert here was very distinctive and took us back to an era by gone. The interior suggests that Sweet Moses is in-fact an authentic ice-cream parlor and uses only premier ingredients to craft the desserts they serve here. I opted for a peach flavored ice cream soda, which I would order again and again...it was that good! My date went with a traditional strawberry milkshake which according to him, was also something that he would order again. There is a semi-large menu of creations to choose from including ice cream sodas, barrel floats, phosphates, milkshakes, malted milkshakes, and even an entire section of pharmacy-era soda fountain drinks! I really did feel like I was getting a classic American experience here and would return.

3.5 stars. Lovely place but doesnt target low income citizens. The only downside is the price. Youre pretty much paying for the decor and atmosphere. Prices for the icecream are equal to a whole meal at other restaurants. The simple concept of icecream is taken a bit out of proportion. Icecream is meant for quick good times not fancey show of class dinnery. Youll leave the door with a sugary belly with a dent in youre wallet and a undertone taste of regret. Youll find yourself visiting on only special occasions and possibly a date. I took 3 friends and spent 23 dollars. Im not a cheap person but for the simple commodity of getting ice cream its way too much.
