I went to the Beavercreek store on October 28, 2014 to get an eye exam and glasses. I was really impressed with the doctor and looked forward to having new glasses, a pair of bifocals and a pair of reading glasses. That good feeling soon turned into a horrible experience of which I never could have imagined. I was told the turn around time would be two weeks and they would call when they came in. The first indication of trouble was when I never received a call after the two week of wait time. After almost three weeks of waiting, I called the store (they didnt call me) and found out they were ready to be picked up. I went to the store to have them fitted, but neither of the two pair were of the correct prescription. They finally agreed to have them remade, but would be another two weeks turnaround. Having received no call after another three weeks of wait time, I called and was told one pair was in, and they would call when the other pair arrived in a day or so. After another week of waiting and no call, I was tiring of the whole situation and requested a refund. The manager said he wasnt authorized to issue refunds and I would have to call customer service. Customer service said they didnt issue refunds as that was left up to the store manager. By this time my blood pressure was near peaking, but not yet. I finally got in touch with someone who pretended like she cared about a customer and was offered a $100 store credit, some cash, and I could keep the glasses. Being a fairly logical person, I could never see me going back to the store to spend the $100 store credit after the experience Id had with them, and the money was only a fraction of what I had written them checks for, and there was some doubt about the correctness of the lenses as I had not tried them out. I refused the offer and again requested a full refund. The person said she would have to get higher authorization in order to do that, and promised to call me within 24 hours. You guessed it. Twenty four hours came and went with no phone call. Having still not heard squat from them, on December 12, 2014, I sent an email via the "Contact Us" link on the companys main website. In the email I explained in great detail my experience with the store. Five days later I got a phone call from the local store manager saying they were going to refund all my money except the money for the exam. This was also unacceptable as I think Stanton Optical is responsible for refunding that money as well. In the end, I finally got a partial refund on January 21, 2015. That was almost three months after I first went to their store. Bottom line: if you need glasses dont go to Stanton Optical unless you enjoy hassles and run-arounds.

I had called before going there to make sure they took my vision provider VSP. Granted I should have verified with VSP that they were an legitimate in-network provider, but they were so new I didnt know if they would be in the system. The man on the phone confirmed they did take VSP. I couldnt be happier considering I had a Buy One Get One free coupon! My insurance would cover the first pair and the second pair free! Great deal right? I go there. Offer my insurance card, which they said they didnt need for the initial paperwork. That should have been a huge red flag for me! I went ahead found two pairs of glasses I liked (their prices were on the high side, but that didnt matter since I was covered under insurance). Then they come to the billing part. This is where is gets very shady. I felt like I was at a bad car dealership and before I know I was being asked to sign a bill for $286 dollars! I was confused. I told them I had insurance. The lady got her General Manager, Adam. He came over and asked for my information. They went in the back and spoke. Came out and said theyd take my bill down to $124. I stupidly paid them, as I didnt want to be embarassed about making a fuss over so little an amount. Later I looked over the bill and thats when I saw the matched insurance bit. Turns out they Match what VSP would cover and they dont offer the "insurance matching" with the Buy One Get One offer. I completely understand why because they would be out of two glasses with zip from me. But that is why I specifically asked, because it would be fantastic deal for me. I was furious. They had me. I went back with a friend who worked for an optometrist so I would have someone to back up what that they did was wrong and demand a refund. I did get one for the glasses after an hour of debating with Adam - the GM. I did not get my money back for the 3 minute exam. Small price to pay for a lessen learned! I will never go back and I will stick to my eye doctor. Dont Fall For Their Scams!!

I have bought glasses from Stanton Optical in Beavercreek, Ohio on two different occasions and this last time was the worst customer service Ive received from anywhere. My first pair of glasses, which I purchased in 2013, started to get swirls in the lenses and the associate at Stanton told me it must have been what I used to clean them, but I cleaned them how they told me, with the microfiber cloth. They fixed my first pair with no problems. Because they fixed the first pair, I decided to them another chance. The next pairs of glasses I bought, in the summer of 2015, I cleaned them exactly how they told me (I used the lens cleaner and wipe as they suggested). Now, my new glasses are getting small "bubbles" on the lenses. I took the glasses back thinking there was a defect in the lens, I was told the coating was starting to come off, it was just 2 months after I had bought them. I was asked how I cleaned them, I pointed to the wipes and cleaners they had on the counter, which their response was I should only use water and a microfiber cloth. They would not fix the glasses for free, it would cost me $20. I didn’t have a second pair of glasses with me, so I did not leave them to be fixed. Today I asked my husband to drop the glasses off on his way home from work. The associate grilled him about what I did to the glasses and kept arguing with him about it was all my fault, that I had done something to them. He mumbled under his breath at one point about how alcohol wouldn’t cause it, then later said they must have been cleaned with alcohol. Now I have to pay $50+ to have the glasses fixed. They keep telling me different things I should do when it comes to cleaning my glasses. Any respectable business would fix the problem, especially since it was so soon after purchasing the glasses, nor would they argue with their customers the way they did.

Really horrible customer service. First I called on Monday night when I arrived home after I ordered my glasses (the same night) to get the pupillary distance between my eyes, Something that should have been included on my prescription, but wasnt. The person I talked to said he couldnt look it up because there was no one at the front desk and he couldnt get intot he computer system and that I should drive back in. First, its a 15-20 minute drive and how exactly would me being there change the fact that no one was at the front desk and that no one could get into the computer system. He then said to call back at 9:15AM the next morning. When I did, I was told that no one could log in the computer (still) and that someone would have to call me back. They never did. I called back and told them I wanted to cancel my order completely... lo and behold, someone got on the phone that could get into the computer... The Store Manager...Amazing. I told him I wanted to cancel my order and he said he would call the lab and make sure they didnt start my order. He then said he would for sure call me back to let me know and guess what ... he never did ... I went back in the next day and was told that no one could get into the computer system and verify that my order was cancelled and that my money would be returned and that the manager would call me back (of course he wasnt there)... since its Thanks Giving weekend, that would be five days later (if they actually call) ... when I should have heard back the day before ... really low class operation... I am still trying to make sure that I get my money back ... Stay Away ... Just Stay Away
