Had 2 appointments last Saturday, for my son and I. Mine was at 3:15 and my sons was supposed to be at 3:30. When we arrived we were greeted friendly by Mike and led back to the Drs area. We paid for my sons eye exam and discussed what type of glasses we were looking for. We went here on a recommendation and for the simple fact that they offer the 2 for $69 glasses. There are signs everywhere about this deal and when I said something Mike led me over to the kids glasses. Its my fault that I didnt double check that these were part of the 2 for $69 deal but I wrongly assumed that these were included. So my son picks out glasses and we wait...and wait for our turn to have eye exams. She was very friendly as was the DR. After Im done, I go look at glasses while we wait for my sons appointment. And the waiting begins again..finally at about 3:50ish he is called. I go back with him and sign the form that says NOT to dilate my sons eyes. After his exam, I go over and sit with Mike to discuss the glasses. All of a sudden he is pulling out numbers like $485 for me and $385 for my sons glasses. I was shocked because I was under the impression that I had picked out the 2 for $69 as this is the stores big promotion. The problem was that Mike talked the entire time about what he did this past weekend, his traveling and the fact that he used to work at Sports Authority. I knew more about his personal life than I did the glasses that I was buying. I kept trying to get him back on task by saying "Okay so the glasses will be how much?". So after realizing that even though I had asked about the 2 for $69 I was pretty much mislead I still wanted to make sure that at least my son got the glasses he wanted. He kept lowering the price but at this point myself and especially my husband was overly frustrated, seeing that we had now been here for almost 2 hours. While I was trying to deal with the glasses issue, the Dr. wanted to see my son again. His prescription had changed quite a bit and he needed to be sure it was correct. The Dr. told my husband that he would like to dilate my sons eyes and as my husband is saying that he needs to talk to me since I had said I didnt want that to happen, the Dr. put the dilating drops in my sons eyes. This is ILLEGAL!! I had signed the form stating not to do this. So at this point we both just want to get out of there. My husband takes the children to the car and I ask for the prescriptions. Mike goes and gets the manager who tries to get me to buy them there by lowering the price even more. I just want to leave and if we decide to buy them, I will call them back. I get the prescriptions and we leave. We go to the optical department at Walmart to order my sons glasses. Its at this point we find out that the name on BOTH of the prescriptions are wrong. So of course we cant finish ordering the glasses. My husband calls Stanton, talks to a female and requests that they fax a corrected copy. He gets the "I will see what I can do but the fax hasnt been working properly." line and we wait. And we wait. After about 10 minutes my husband drives back across town to get it and finds the female that he talked to on the phone, closing out her drawer having never tried to fax it. He stands there for about 5 minutes until Mike walks over. My husband gets a printed out copy of both prescriptions. We think everything is okay, until the next day. We get a call from Walmart and it seems that Stanton has provided 2 different prescription levels for my son. The handwritten one that we originally had was wrong and Walmart had already ordered the glasses. Thankfully, they were able to correct Stanton Opticals failure Stanton is a joke and a dangerous place to go. They dilated my sons eyes against my consent, provided the wrong prescription and couldnt even get our last name right. Oh and their 2 for $69 deal? There are about 10 pairs total in the entire store and they are the gaudiest things ever! Do NOT go here!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!

The Good - Ms. Gaby is wonderful to work with. She clearly explains the options available and has a pleasant demeanor when dealing with difficult customers. 2 pairs for $69 actually came out to be $69. Ive been to other optical shops where it came out close to $175. Very happy so far with the quality of the frames and glasses. The bad - The Stanton Optical robocall notification is horrible. It calls you in its robotic voice to tell you one of your two pairs of glasses is available. It prompts you to push 1 for more info and when you do, simply speaks the same message over and over and over and over. I called the Tallahassee store and spoke to two different employees trying to get a proper status on my order. After spelling my name and clarifying, I.E. J like in Junk, O like in orange, E like in Elephant, B like in boy, etc. and they couldnt find an order for me. Then they asked my birthday, still couldnt find the order. Asked my phone number, finally found the order. Why are they asking for all this info if they arent using it for your order? The Curious - The young lady who got the glasses from the bins for delivery to the customers, clearly could not read the printed names on the sign-in sheet. She was constantly squinting at both the list and at customers. Why doesnt she get glasses????? I bet employees probably get a discount.

The staff was nice however they advertise 2 free pair for $69.00 and a free eye exam as well as yesterdays special get a free eye exam with the purchase of one pair of glasses and you get another pair free. all 8 pair of the $69 glasses are ugly and the eye exam is $45. It is not free. The young lady who assisted me rang up m frames and lenses and the total came to $267.00 she then subtracted the $45.00 eye exam fee. So i paid $222.00 i then had a seat in the waiting area because my glasses would only take 20 minutes to complete and as i was waiting another staff came to me and stated 1my wilson you did not pay for your eye exam. i explained to her that i participated in the by one get one with a free eye exam and sh stated that i was supposed to get a $45.00 credit that would go toward the glasses however i had to pay the $45.00 eye exam fee. I stated that this was false advertisement be it as they charged me a $45.00 eye exam fee and had i known that they would do that i would have simply got the eye exam and went to walmart or ordered my frames from eyebuydirect and spent less than $267.00 needless to say I will NEVER EVER shop there again. I would rather be blind than shop there now.

My experience started out pleasant. I was able to find some frames that I liked and got a good deal on them. The girl that helped me was very nice. After that, the problems started. I was told my glasses would only take a max of 1 hr. Then after I paid they told me that the machine wasnt working. So I had to wait for them to call me later in the afternoon. They never called me so I called them. They said the glasses were done but they didnt have the tint that I asked for. So I asked if it was on for me to come get them because I cant see without them. (I had to wear an extremely old pair) I drove for 40 minutes across town just for them to tell me that I cant pick them up because the doctor just left the building. I am VERY upset because I told the girl that helped me that I was coming across town but she assured me that I could have my glasses. I wasted my time and gas and even left work early to get there and they wouldnt let me have my glasses that were sitting on the desk. I will not be recommending them to anyone else. I hope they improve their service.
