The warmth that emanates from Twin City Hive comes not only from its fresh brewed premium coffee, but its wonderful owners and exemplary staff who extend a warm welcome and delightful conversation. Although the specialty of the Hive is coffee, there are other drinks to tempt anyones palette, such as iced drinking chocolate and its unique lemonana. To compliment their array of drinks, the Hive offers locally produced goods such as fresh muffins, coffee cake, bagels, various chocolate truffles, and a variety of other sweets- including fresh fruit. Beyond edibles, visitors can check out Winston-Salem themed goodies, such as mugs, stickers, and postcards. Other locally produced items populate the shelves including honey, soaps, candles, juices, and jams. Twin City Hives collection of locally produces goodies in combination with its wonderful staff creates a warm environment for old friendships to grow and new friendships to begin.

Update April 2016: The new location just down the hallway has been an excellent move. The larger space allows for more coffee/tea and food offerings, while the seating areas vary from cozy to open to sunny to al fresco. For me, its the place to go for small personal meetings or get a lot of work done (Wifi available) with excellent coffee. 2015: Having been in dozens of coffee shops around in the US and Europe, Id have to say the Twin City Hive ranks highly. The owners and primary baristas know the beans well and understand how to extract and pour well. Teas are represented well also. The interior is well-decorated and, as been mentioned, the environment is conducive to relaxing, studying, light conversation, or just drinking good coffee and espresso.

Came here for the 1st time because my daughters tutor used their community room to work with her. This room. Can be used by anyone by appointment. This is a nice little coffee shop with a traditional sitting area and a loung/home living room style area. Thus made it feel cozy and perfect to relax with a book and a coffee or tea. I felt at home here. Great drink choices as well as muffins and bagels.

This is a great little coffee shop in downtown Winston with great local art on display and some for sale as well. They have all their coffee locally-sourced from NC and you can get drip or pour-over coffee. So good and fresh. The pastries are delicious as well. Great to sit and read, do some work or have a quiet conversation with a friend.

Staff is very friendly and warm. Its a cozy and clean environment and has good seating options for studying, reading, or meeting with friends. Staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and got me a table while I was trying to get work done.

The coffee and tea, to me, is the best in Winston Salem. Most of rhe staff is really nice. I stop in some after working out in the morning. I especially like going after working out and showering on Saturday and sitting outside to drink coffee, read and enjoy the atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, great coffee and now they have opened a second location at the Gateway YWCA! You do not have to be a member to visit that location, just go in the front door and you will see the café. These guys rock!
