If youre from out of town and are looking for grocery store to pick up a few items - KEEP SEARCHING. I didnt know better and Uberd to this store from my hotel in Winston per Googles suggestion that it was the closest. I was the Uber Drivers first fare ever, which meant he was already confused as to how to use the app, so I didnt want to create a huge headache for him. Otherwise, I would have asked him to take me elsewhere upon seeing the outside of the store. Its very rundown with lots of people loitering in the parking lot. Anyway, I decided to roll with it. I just needed a few small entertaining items like beer, wine and snacks to host a small gathering in our room. Snacks were not a problem. I got a veggie tray and a meat-n-crackers tray with no issue - actually, the employees were very nice in helping me find what I was looking for. Thats the only reason for 2 stars v 1. The wine selection was almost nonexistent. Apparently, even most Uber drivers avoid this area as I was propositioned at least 3 times for money while I waited 15 min for Uber to connect me with a ride back toward my hotel.

Ive seen some bad food lions in my day but this one takes the cake. Their female customer service manager is by far the rudest Ive come across to date. She caught an attitude because she actually had to do some work and had to use a register. Then took it out on my groceries by slamming them around and literally tossing them in the bags. How someone like that got into management Ill never know.

Seems like food lion in general could do better at rotating out their produce. Found a tomato that was starting to go rotten during my last visit. The service is always great though.
