We were looking for a new Weber Grill. We went to Home Depot and Lowes the weekend before July 4th and waited and waited for assistance. Lots of folks standing around but no one helping. When people did help they were not very happy, seemed angry to be spread so thin. We decided to take our business elsewhere and called Ace Hardware in Waxhaw to see if they carried Weber--we called and spoke with Judy who was very friendly and helpful on the phone and told us that yes, they did carry Weber and that a supervisor who knew more would call us back as soon as he finished with another customer in the store. As promised, Dwayne did call and when we got to the store our positive experience continued. . What a kind, professional, caring, feel-good place this is to take your business. Yes I know its "just" a hardware store, but if youve ever wandered the aisles of the big box stores with that glazed look on your face, you know how nice it is to have assistance. Our order came in two days, (faster than Home Depot and Lowes could get it!). The brill is being assembled as I write this and will be delivered by Dwayne tonight. In case your wondering, Weber pricing is pretty much the same anywhere you go--so why not go where you and your business will be appreciated?

This Ace is a great example of a hometown locally owned store. I have visited here several times over the past month since moving to the area. I have found the staff to be gracious and more than willing to help and answer all of my new home owner questions. I recently met the owner working in the isles along with the rest of his staff. He too was super friendly and helpful. I was so impressed, I bought a $400 Toro mower from them. Before loading it in the car for me, they took it back to the service area and gave it a good once over. they gassed and oiled it up and folded the handled down to get it in my SUV. when did Lowes or Home Depot do that for you??? I am now a loyal customer.

Went by to drop off a weed eater to get serviced and it was amazing how bad the guy was in the service and repair department. He had no interest in helping us and told us it would be at least 4 weeks to get it back and it was very obvious they were not busy. But he was willing to rent me a weed eater while mine was down for the 4 weeks. I went to another local small engine service establishment in the area and the guy was super friendly and busy (no wonder). He said I would have my weed eater back in 5 to 7 days and went through all the ins and outs with me. If you have issues with your yard equipment, dont waste your time at this Ace.

Bought a small electric heater that shorted out and smoked up my house after 10 days. Returned to the store and waited for the owner to approve my return or exchange for 15 minutes. After walking by me several times not knowing I knew him. He then sent a third employee to let me know he could not exchange it and I should call the manufacturer. I know he did not build it, but he did sell it and he should back it up during the return period at the very least.

I recently bought a new stihl gas blower and the staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I did have a manufactur issue with the blower but they where very quick to swap it out for another one without any issues. I was certainly recommend spending a little extra with the local hardware store and keeping the business local, you cant find there knowledge and experience at the big box stores.

Went to get a propane tank refilled and unfortunately the was broken on the tank. Jay was a nice guy and offered up solutions to my problem and loaded my tank into my trunk even though I didnt buy a thing.
