This is a review for my local Lowes Foods on Rowlock Way in N Raleigh. On more than one occasion I have purchased prerisable food only to find it was bad when I got it home. They also seem to have epic problems at the cash registers with no one looking like they are in charge. The store itself is dirty. Lots of dirt and crumbs around the cash registers and scales too. This is very dissapointing as I have shopped at Lowes for years. I stopped in there this weekend to pick up a few things...including one of the boxed salads. As soon as I got home my wife said the salad was wilted and threw it out. And yesterday after work to pick up some items for dinner. I brought everything home and began cooking dinner. One of the items was pork chops which I cook in the oven. I served everything up and both my wife and I took one bite of the pork...we looked at each other and each of us knew that the pork was bad...I mean really bad. Had I cooked it on the stove top I would have noticed...but our oven has a vent so we didnt notice that anything was wrong. The floors are dirty and the staff sitting out front smoking cigarrettes dont really do much to enhance their image. Of the last 6 times I bought meat at this store it was bad 5 of those times...and I cant remember buying arugula or any other salad where I didnt throw most of it away...and 1 of the 3 apples I bought there this weekend were bad.... I hate writing bad reviews but I feel compelled to warm people about this particular store. I dont recall having bad experiences at any other LsFs but this one is a public health hazard.

I love this Lowes foods! It is tucked away and hard to find, but it is worth looking for. The store was clean and the staff was friendly. What more can you ask for? Oh, wait! How about the mini wine tasting I got to do? The guy doing the tasting even gave us tips on how to quickly chill the white wine we were bringing to a gathering that night. So awesome! I also love that they have a gas rewards program like Kroger and Bi-Lo, too. Definitely would recommend this store to everyone. In fact we did at the gathering! I really wish we had a store like this closer to home.

Good for emergencies, but that is about it. Lowes Foods tries very hard to be a Harris Teeter type of grocery store but often comes up short. This particular one comes up way short. Produce is often not fresh- and on many occasions I have pulled expired yogurt, bread and milk of the shelf. Also see lots of empty shelves.

Food is always fresh. Store is laid out nicely and its rarely crowded. Its biggest competition is Walmart across the street, but soon will have a lot of competition with Harris teeter moving into the area. Its a bit pricier than Walmart, but usually worth it because youll avoid all the craziness that comes with wall Mart

I really do love shopping here because their selection is great and they have a sausage bar...but every time I go in, I get an employee that has to make a scene with my service dog. Please better educate your staff; I am not a circus act.

Great local grocery with friendly employees. Tip : If shopping for tonights dinner look for the red Special Today sticker on meat that are hitting their expiration date soon. They go for a big discount.
