The review from 1 year ago is still dead on. Before my latest visit, I went to print some business cards. The gentlemen who waited on me took 3 other customers with more complicated and larger volume jobs than my own. I wound up waiting 30 minutes for him to mess up my business cards after I told him how to set the margins properly with the print guide. I should have never gone back after the first time but... I called in first asking if they would be able to print a letter sized job on their ink jet wide format printer. I was using a paper with thickness similar to cardstock that was heat sensitive, so I had to use an ink jet system. I was told they could complete the job, so I took my job into them, had Daniel print it up, and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. However, I went in with my own paper for a printing job today, as I had already been once before and was helped by Daniel. Daniel was amazing, he knew exactly what he was talking about and the whole process from proofing and printing on my paper took less than 10 minutes. Cindy (the print shift manager working at the time) was unhelpful, rude, and didnt know how to load a letter sized 0.10 oz sheet of paper into the wide feed ink jet printer. This was after I explained how to do it to her and another co-worker at the time who was also unable to load it properly. Cindy then decided to tell me that my job was taking too long and that the next time I came in I would be charged a minimum of $15 to complete the job that Daniel finished in less than 10 minutes the night before. Oh, this is also after I patiently waited for them to finish with a customer and then take another while waiting on me. If theyre going to make me wait while they take other customers that come after me, then I dont feel I should be charged in excess for having to wait on them. I still have the receipt from my last visit with Daniel, Im going back when hes on shift. Hes the only one there out of 4 people and 5 visits that has --ever-- printed anything correctly and not talked down to me. I studied art and Graphic Design for 4 years at University, I know what I am doing, and I am utterly insulted at the way my job was treated and the attitude from Cindy and another female coworker under her. I hope OfficeMax sees this and promotes Daniel. Or at the --very-- least starts workshops to train the other lesser knowledgeable employees who think its okay to talk back to customers because they dont know what they are doing. -------Summary: Its the only place in Elizabeth City to get residential printing jobs done. Daniel is the only knowledgeable print staff there. Cindy--the shift manager at the time-- and the female coworker whos name starts with an "E" didnt even know how to load the wide format printer, were rude, and threatened to charge me $15 for a job that took Daniel less than 10 mins the day before to do because *I* was "taking too long with a complicated project."

I was in the store for more than an hour. During that time, not even 1 single sales associate approached me, asked if I needed help, or offered any type of assistance whstsoever. When I went to the Customer Service counter, my presence there was completely ignored. There was a young African American in an office behind the counter; he looked @ me a couple of times, but did not acknowledge, & continued with whatever he was doing. Again, multiple employees passed by me, but none approached me. I finally walked over to the cashier and asked for assistance. She was unable to answer any of my questions, appeared completely unfamiliar with the stores product. The manager finished assisting another customer, & turned her attention to me. Her attitude was one of aloofness & detachment. I had looked up the item needed before departure; I only went there because the website said they had the item. Whenit was determined that they indeed did not have it, nor was it available for shipment, the manager offered no further options or assistance. I paid for my purchase & left the store.

I have sent many faxes, made countless copies and regularly have photo copies made for our local community theater company. While the previous reviewers have been correct in their assessment that wait times often seem excessive, once it is my turn I am been treated well, and given all of the time and courtesy required for the job. Staff cannot read minds nor can they prioritize the each job by the time they will require. The same photo copies that cost $2.24 at Walmart cost $1.09 at Office Max so if I have to wait a little longer, I find it well worthwhile. Long story short, the old adage applies "do you want it fast or do you want it good"? I find I get the best of both at the E.C. Office Max.

Clean store with a helpful staff. Some stores look disorganized when its time for back to school, but this Office Max was clean and organized. A staff member was walking by and stopped to ask if I needed help locating anything which was helpful. There was no one at check out and when I asked the lady at the print counter( next to the check out area) she was about to call someone then came around the counter to check out both me and another customer. Everyone was friendly, Id definitely return.

Friendly staff and very quick service. I went in with a major migraine and needed some papers faxed, a nice lady at the counter let me go take some Advil and drink from the back fountain before I paid for it while she did the facing for me, I happily will always return here for any needs for copy, fax or printing.

Overpriced, even on sale... and expect checkout to be slow, if not excruciating. Still, the selection is decent, and business accounts get treated fairly well here with discounts. But if you can wait for an online merchant to ship you something, youll probably find a better deal elsewhere.

Was there for roughly half an hour and no one came to greet/assist us for the first 20 minutes. ICE was not being adhered to. Need better customer service. Also, boxes/crates were scattered around the store instead of being put out.
