I bought an engagement ring for my now fiancée back in August here. Let me first tell you, I had been searching for rings in Boston prior to me moving to North Carolina and found this jewler in Durham. I looked and worked with a few places in Durham, Raliegh, and Chapel hill before working with Jewel Smith. They helped me design a incredible ring which my fiancée gets comments from strangers on a regular of how beautiful it is and I owe much of this to Delouis, who helped me design it. Not only was the whole process great and I got a ring that far exceeded what I thought I could afford, but a couple months later when my fiancees family was coming to town we wanted to get the ring cleaned to show it off and I called ahead and they kept the shop open late for us. I cannot say enough great things about the service, the craftsmanship and the dedication of Jewel Smith.

I have been buying my jewelry from Jewelsmith for 15 years. Phil stayed up all night to make a pendant I could wear to my daughters wedding which was in Indianapolis; therefore, the time pressure. I want unique pieces of art that I can wear. Fashions come and go but jewelry lasts forever. I love everyone who works there especially Linda and Phil. Phil and I collaborate on some pieces or I just tell him vaguely what I want and he always delivers a beautiful work of art. I wouldnt dream of having my jewelry made anywhere else. I have had many, many comments over the years on my unusual collection of jewelry. I also have to mention DeLois, Christine, Mary Catherine, etc. They are now making jewelry for my granddaughters and I currently have 7. I expect I will be spending my money there for a long time.

Fantastic store and service. Jewelsmith came highly recommended to me and I learned it was for good reason. I was looking for an engagement ring and they were the first store I visited. Patrick guided me through the process with patience and understanding and made the experience enjoyable. They brought in great diamonds that met my specifications. I visited other stores in my search and I think their customer service was one of, if not, the best in the area. I would highly recommend visiting them.

Fantastic, and fun! Initially apprehensive about the engagement ring buying process, Jewelsmith made the process interactive, enjoyable, and comfortable. I showed up at Jewelsmith in bike shorts and a sheen of moisture several times to design our own ring and never felt less than at home and welcome. We even had Jewelsmith remake a centuries old ring into a modern design and they executed that beyond my expectations and at a price I (a miser) found very reasonable. A+

I have been to this store for repairs of my jewelry mostly and I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They take the same time attention and effort with repairs as they do the sale of their fabulous one-of-a-kind jeweled pieces of art. Jewelsmith is definitely a hidden treasure here in Durham.

Im totally not a jewelry buyer. I went for a simple wedding band; Excellent service by Mary Giagnacova. She was extremely helpful and patient, didnt try to convince my buy things I didnt want. The atmosphere in the shop is relaxed and friendly. Highly recomended.
