So before writing this post, I actually prayed to make sure that whatever I am writing is fair and just. I have gone to this store more than 10+ times now to buy meat (always chicken). The first time I got a whole chicken cut, I washed it at home and it turned out great. The second time, I don’t know why I decided to get the chicken which had the BBQ spices on it. I was so excited to make it because it meant I didn’t have to clean for another hour. Holy molly it was horrible. My husband washed the chicken AGAIN (after it had been cooked) and re-made it. In other words the stuff which is pre-marinated is not good. It’s generally older chicken they are trying to sell. However I don’t think there is anything wrong on that but at least the meat should be properly washed prior to being seasoned. Moving on, the next few times I got the chicken everything was good, so check mark there. The second to last time, I got chicken, it had been frozen. I could tell when I was washing it. It was frozen solid on the inside. My problem was actually the last time I went. My husband and I like the Midamar frozen chicken patties. Olive Tree just happens to carry these. They are between $7 for a pack of 6 so they are on the pricier side but overall really good and easy to make. They hadn’t gotten these in stock for a few days so one of the managers told me he could make me fresh chicken patties in the back for about the same price. I need to mention that I only wanted comparable chicken patties because DUH thats why I went there. It should also be noted that this is CARY, there are like 10 other grocery stores nearby who happen to carry frozen halal food. We are not in a state of crisis for chicken patties. So if this store couldnt produce similar chicken patties, I honestly would not have cared. Anyway moving on, I wasn’t shown what these patties looked like and was told I needed to buy at least two pounds. So finally at the end when I saw the patties they just look like squished pieces of chicken with spices and there were 4 patties total for a whopping $12.48. Are you freaking kidding me? Why on earth would I or anyone pay $3.12 for an uncooked kebab patty which they will have to go home and make for themselves and spend an hour preparing? Let’s put this in perspective, the delicious already made koobadeh kebab at Flame Kebab is $4 (picture attached). If I wanted to pay so much for food, I would just get take-out at: Jasmin, Flame Kebab, Kababish, Bosphorous, Greek Fiesta, mashaAllah the list goes on and on. I am so embarrassed to say that I actually walked out of the store without paying. May Allah swt forgive me as I have never done that in my entire life but Wallahi I just could not convince my brain to pay so much for an uncooked patty which didn’t look anything like what I wanted. The manager did try to convince me that they are really good kebabs…which I am sure they are, but one should be fair with their pricing. To be honest, if this item was as good as advertised, I am sure people would be lined up to get the patties so that they could take them home and spend 40 minutes making them, followed by 20 mins of cleaning their kitchen. Just saying. I would only go to this store because it is one mile distance from my house. As mentioned earlier the meat was good on some days and on other days, not so much. There are several other halal meat stores in the area which I would recommend over this. I am truly sad about writing this review because I thought I had found my go to Halal place!

I am sure Olive Tree use to be a good establishment at one point. Now its just like a market with bland shelves, poor customer service and mediocre meat. I purchased few times, especially the halal meat. The biggest disappointment was chicken breast which had striation which is indicative of chickens having muscular disorder. When I inquired about freshness of meat, the owner (short one) said "have you had meat from here before?" To which I responded "yes" He followed by saying, "Did it taste fine?" I am sorry but even Purdue and Tyson taste fine but that doesnt mean its good, clean, organic, hormone free, etc. They have a sign posted which says their chickens are humanly raised and hormone free. Dont advertise things if you cant stand by them.

This is a clean and neat store with no smells of the meat department. They receive fresh meat around three times a week so the meat is no more than two days old. They have lamb, beef, goat and chicken meats. The butcher accommodated our custom requirements and the manager, Mr. Fadi Asad, was kind and very helpful. The store has a good variety of food products and sweets at reasonable prices. We were told that more varieties are coming. For us, it is well worth the 23 minute drive.

This place is great. Very clean store and the manager speaks perfect English, so for me who doesnt speak Arabic it is a BIG plus. The meat is fresh, clean and reasonably priced. The staff is very helpful. I love that they have grains not prepackaged and you get as much or as little as you want. Sometimes I buy just a little bit of lentils since I am the only one who eats them. They also have the most amazing sun dried tomatoes and roasted peppers, yummy!

After this being the only place Id go to for my shopping when Im the Raleigh area, I noticed that the customer service has gotten to be less than satisfactory. Maybe the guy was having a bad day I dont know, he was very rude the last time I dropped by. For that reason I have decided to change my review rating and look for another middle eastern market. Its a shame because I really did enjoy the prices at this store just wish the service would be better.

We shop at the Olive Tree at least one a week, often more. They are the best butchers in town. Their meats arrive fresh several times/week. They have goat, too, which can be hard to find in Cary. The people who work there are super nice. They sell lots of different types of Mediterranean foods, including an olive bar. My favorites are the olive oil, pickled lemons and the chocolate.

This is a wonderful Mediterranean Store and butcher shop. Their meat selection is outstanding. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Huge fan of their lamb sausage, made in-house. Wonderful olive oil selection. This is a great addition to my Whole Food shopping. Oh...almost forgot about their fresh bread. It is outstanding.

Horrible customer service!! The owner needs to learn to say hello and thank you at the very least. These people dont realize that saying these pleasantries does not cost a dime but not doing so reflects so poorly on their work ethics.

It was so clean,I could see how fresh the meat was looking through the window. May Allah continue to bless them and keep them on the correct deen.ameen. I would recommend all my sisters to go here if possible.
