While store management and their employees and courteous and listen to concerns, I have deep concerns about an Emotionally Disturbed Person known to the residents of Lakeview and West Hempstead as Preacher. Preacher has the run of the store. He is not an employee. He returns empty cans, bottles and plastics. He is very nasty and dirty. He came in the store one day through an Employees Only rear entrance. He takes his dirty gloves that he collects cans, bottles, and plastics with going through various residents yards. He takes these same gloves and throws them on the Barbeque chicken machine, the same machine that has holes on the top and sides for ventilation. I HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BARBEQUE CHICKEN FROM MET. That is just plain nasty. Met allows his to store shopping carts from various supermarkets in the rear of the store. Just this morning I was meeting with the manager of Pathmark in Franklin Square about carts of his stores at Met.

It is under new management, they changed from Pioneer to Met Foods and I love it. I live about 8 blocks away and Im closer to other supermarkets but I prefer to shop their because of their customer service and reasonable prices. The one thing that stands out to me the most is their wonderful customer service. I have compared their prices to other supermarkets and by far they have the lowest. Also their fruits and vegetables is nice and fresh. The meat is also fresh. I would recommend this supermarket to my family and friends.

Prices are good but I have to agree with the previous review. Items were not fresh brought some 1/2 gallon Orange Juice, I wont mention the brand name, I had about 3 half gallons had to poor out all three because they were all spoiled was on more than one occasion. You really have to check the expiration dates for freshness. by the way on the OJ it was not near the expiration date, must have been because of improper storage.

Over priced understocked. This is the ONLY COMMUNITY GROGERY STORE in the neighborhood. I feel that they (the owners/management. Are taking advantage of the community. I understand that WESTERN BEEF is suppose to be moving down from their current location to where FOODTOWN/ STOP&SHOP USE TO BE ON WOODFIELD RD. Here in.West Hempstead. Thank God. We really need a REAL grocery store.

New Pioneer supermarket is here......still under construction but the prices are one of the lowest ive seen in Hempstead... i highly recommend stopping by!!!!! =)
