This place is just an average ho-hum quilt shop who has been in business long enough to be just a bit full of themselves. When you walk into the place after driving hours to get there, you are lucky to be greeted with any kind of warmth that you typically find in a quilt shop. And that is on a normal slow mid-week day. Now for the meat of the story: A bus trip consisting of 40 quilters was on a multiple quilt shop day trip, hopping from one shop to another happily spending money during this time of nationwide financial crisis.(background info) Four shops were on the agenda, each shop was asked/informed months in advance, reminded weeks in advance, the day prior and of the quilters arrival. Calico Gals was the second stop on the bus trip. Upon their arrival, the proprietress and employees rudely informed the first women of the group of shoppers who had entered the shop to get out, (not “please leave we are too busy at the moment”) they werent welcome, they were too busy etc. So all 40 shoppers got back on the bus, left and went to lunch, vowing never to return. Calico Gals was in contact with the proprietors of the first quilt shop on the itinerary, so they were informed of our departure time from the first shop on the trip, thus anticipating of the approximate time of arrival and could have prepared for the quilters to decend upon the shop. Had I been the owner/manager of this shop, I would have rushed off to the nearest Dunkin Donuts to buy a gallon or so of coffee, 5 dozen donuts and set up a table on the sidewalk outside with some chairs and prepared to welcome the quilters into the store in perhaps groups of 10 encouraging the quilters to visit the delightful needlwork shop in the same building and or enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack. That’s a way to ameliorate a situation such as this. Now, I understand that some days are busier than others, however, to rudely send away (yes they werent gentle about saying they didnt have room for everyone, they rudely said you cannot come in here) customers who dropped over $4,000.00 dollars visiting only three quilt shops is just plain stupid. And here I am writing this review! I will never visit their vendor booth at a quilt show nor will I ever step foot into their shop again! Nasty Little Quilt Shop in Fayetteville!

What a wonderful place to work! Our staff is the best group of girlfriends to work with. We are all very friendly and compassionate. Some of the fun things we do are Quilt Camps and Bus Trips. We have something for everyone. From Beginning classes to Joan Sock Sundays (sock knitting classes), there is something for all skill levels. We have lots of Clubs, Blockswappers and Events. There is always something fun going on. Our staff strives for our customers to have a FUN time while they are in our shop. So stop on in and see for yourself what a wonderful place Calico Gals is.
