My boyfriend and I were driving home from a visit to Vermont and stopped at this Rochester NY F & S. My boyfriend has been looking at bows for a bit now and we finally decided to just go and get one- we dont have F & S stores by us in rural Illinois. In the archery department we were helped by John H who was absolutely wonderful. He helped us find the proper bow for the budget in mind, with arrows, points, etc... Had my boyfriend fitted and adjusted, cut arrows, etc... He was so helpful and had many years of knowledge & experience. He had awesome tips for us and really made the experience simple. I also brought my bow in (I travel everywhere with it) to have a couple things tweaked. Kyle, also from the archery department, helped me out while my boyfriend was getting the new bow adjusted. Amazing service, amazing staff! I highly recommend this store- especially the archery department. Wish we had these stores by us!

So far my experience with this store has been great but Ill admit this is only for the fishing department. I am an avid fisherman so I came here to buy a reel for my new rod. The staff was extremely helpful as I was getting a bait casting reel which Id never used before and they gave me many tips on what to consider. It was nearing close so I apologized and offered to come back to get the line put on the reel and he wouldnt have it. He said it was no problem and continued to help even after the doors were locked. I can say that I was a little disappointed in the selection of childrens clothing. It was winter and I wanted to get my son a Carhartt jacket but they only had one color and didnt have his size. There were only two or three racks of childrens winter jackets at all so the selection was very limited.

Never a good experience. Place looks amazing and selection is large. Store is huge and well kept. Unfortunately the employees ignore you completely, which Im fine with until you need something from behind a counter. Walked in with a wallet full of cash ready to buy a new 12 gauge. Waited well over half an hour and never even a "hello", "Ill be with you in a moment", or "how can i help you?"..nothing..people who just walked in were being helped while i was being completely ignored, even while making direct eye contact with the guy behind the counter and saying "hello" and "seriously?" directly to him. Everything is expensive, even during clearance events. Idk.. i want to like this store but literally no good experiences leave me going back to gander mountain.

Only been there once so far but the one time I went it was very nice. The store is huge and brand new so everything was nice and tidy. We went there to buy a pair of winter boots for my girlfriend. They didnt have the exact style she was looking for and ended up going a step up to a pricier model, but was still very satisfied. We wandered around a little bit through the other departments and were pleased with the offerings and layout of the store. It reminds me of a lite version of a Bass Pro Shop.

Terrible customer service in the lodge. Had to ask, after 20 mins. waiting for 1 of 2 employees to be free, if there was anyone that could help myself and 2 other customers. The employee said he would call and see only to say nothing afterwords. Left and went over to Gander Mountain where service is always prompt and very helpful. Your employees need to be more concientuos with their customers. Several employees up front shooting the breeze with one another. Is this what you hired them for?

I went on the first day they opened and was pleased with the selection of hunting items. The ammunition was at the same or better price than Walmart, which surprised me. The selection of firearms is almost as large as Cabelas, which is quite commendable. There is also a vast array of hunting apparel and at reasonable prices. Overall, Im thrilled to finally have a dedicated outdoors store in the Rochester area, and a well put together one at that.

Typical big box store. Been here a few times over the last 2 months. Inventory selection is good, and its conveniently located. Service is pretty hit or miss. I had really awesome service from a young lady the first time. Subsequent visits were disappointing. My observation is that unless you look like a redneck, youll basically be ignore and you practically have to tackle someone to get their attention.

They "arent using the number system today" at the gun counter. Waited for 45 mins until everyone that had been there had gone except one last man. While he was being helped it got busy again and they kept helping other people that had just walked up, and kept telling me it would be just a minute. The old man that works there is exceptionally rude as well, customer service sucks.

Most everything is priced at full suggested retail price. Preppy hunting store with less selection then cabelas, bass pro or gander. Found gun shop guys were of no more help then the ones found at the walmart gun center. No website to look at inventory. Better off sticking to small town gun shops, much more knowledgeable, better prices and not full of bs.

Nice outdoor store that has a good selection of products. Their prices are fair and some deals are really good. The store is clean, it is roughly the size of some of the smaller bass pro shops. My interactions with the staff have been friendly. I would check here if you are unable to find something at Gandermountain in Henrietta.

Ive brought two different bows here in the off hunting season and they have each taken over two weeks just to order the string. No one even calls to tell you its going to be late and when you call them, good luck on a call back about your bow. If you like to shoot your bow regularly, dont bring it here!

Store caters to city folks who want to pretend they are out in the wilderness by decorating the store interior with dead animals. Really disgusting - they smell and are coated with dust. The employees are rude and clueless.

Same old big box store. The Taxidermy is very nice but the customer service is lacking. The push to sell the inexpensive brand is also annoying. Still it has a good selection of hunting and fishing equipment.

Prices are not the cheapest but great selection of items and ammo. Seems that services cant stand up to demand at times but employees are very helpful and knowledgeable when they can get to you.

Bought a pair of mud boots a year ago, used them 6 times. One of the seams sprung a leak. they wouldnt exchange them or offer a deal. Stand behind your products. Never shopping there again.

Enjoyable experience here. Great interior design and fantastic range of products. I highly recommend them over the competition for outdoors items, clothing, and many other needs.

I love this store. Sometimes I stop in just to look around and check out all the sales. If you have any inkling for the outdoors, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

Friendly staff and better selection/prices than Gander Mountain. This will definitely become my one stop shop for all of my families outdoor needs.
