There isnt a rating low enough for this place. Let me begin by saying I do not take the time to write reviews unless Ive had either an amazing experience or a completely awful one. In this case, if you couldnt tell from my rating; my experience at Barnes and Noble RIT was by far the worst experience Ive had dealing with a retailer in almost my entire adult life. Moving on to why that is, I went to Barnes and Noble RIT earlier today to return a textbook I had purchased yesterday. No problem, I had the receipt and figured Id be in good shape. This was not the case. I put my book (still in the bag because I never took it out) on the counter with the receipt and politely asked if I could return the book. Without looking at the book or asking me any questions the employee reaches in the bag pulls out a green form smiles at me and says, "No, yesterday was the last day to return." I replied, "Oh okay, well I did only just purchase the book yesterday." She cut me off and replied, "doesnt matter, you gotta read that English, sorry!" and motioned towards the little green slip detailing their return policy. The fact that a WEEK grace period is all students get to return overpriced books is ridiculous! Despite that, I completely understand her having to follow the policy. However, her attitude was unacceptable. This employee of Barnes and Noble RIT actually seemed to be so happy about not having to help me that she was trying to hold back laughter.. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, I will now go out of my way to never purchase anything from this retailer again. To students of RIT, purchase your books online. Not only will you save a ton but, you wont have to deal with ridiculous return policies or employees who seem overjoyed to turn you away.

This is the Rochester Institute of Technology specific Barnes & Noble. This location carries a smaller selection of books than most because a lot of the space is dedicated to RIT goods. The entire second floor is stocked with RIT textbooks and information on required texts for courses. There is a limited selection of home-goods for dorm life as well. On the second floor there is an unofficial Starbucks, small Clinique section, and RIT swag such as clothing, mugs, and trinkets. This is a great place to go for RIT students looking to buy textbooks or people looking for RIT swag.

Besides functioning as a standard Barnes & Noble, this location is also services the nearby Rochester Institute of Technology campus. Students can buy books, supplies and lab items that have been coordinated with the universitys curriculum. Theres also a shuttle bus to/from campus. Very convenient. Prices are about what youd expect, but some are ridiculously low. I was especially surprised by how competitive their computer and tablet prices were. The Dell items also had additional discounts especially for students.

Because this is also RITs bookstore, the selection of books you might expect upon pulling up to the massive building is a bit underwhelming. However, the atmosphere is calm and just like you might hope for a bookstore to be. Music choices were top notch; had to Shazam a few of them! 10/10 would recommend

Selection is a bit small for books. Some floor space dedicated to selling other retail products like clothing and makeup. Second floor selection primarily for RIT students. Lots of seating on second floor and plenty of seating in cafe. Cafe selection is broad. Clean and welcoming staff.

Starbucks Coffee served inside. Huge meeting rooms available upstairs. The only issue are their prices. Tons of RIT themed merchandise along with notepads, pens, makeup, snacks etc. Not a huge book selection honestly.

Its really clean and easy to find things. The cashiers are sometimes missing though. The college merchandise is ridiculously expensive but what can you expect from a college Barnes and Noble.

Good for textbooks and school apparel. Be prepared to be a pretty penny. Try to wait for weekends where they have 10-15% off (usually parents weekend and graduation).

Text book prices for both new and used are outrageously overpriced. I have been able to successfully find all of my text books significantly cheaper online (2x-3x)

Clean with good service. Prices are very expensive and overpriced unless you price match the textbooks. Definitely check your sources before making a purchase.

Good place to do some work and the coffee is pretty decent as well. I just wish the cafe area didnt smell like microwaved pastries all the time.

Nice section of books, games, stuff, and RIT gear. Textbooks are very overpriced though, you can do a lot better online if you can wait.

Its a lot of money, but its really fun if you stand in the corner and dab for 4 hours straight and wait until they kick you out. 5.5/10

Doubles as the RIT bookstore, houses a Starbucks, nice gifts/college wear and has plenty of tables & space to relax or work upstairs.

In addition to being a B&N, they also sell RIT merchandise and apparel, and feature a really nice cafe that serves Starbucks coffee.

Pretty good Barnes and Noble, always good service. There are usually books that are on clearance or sale, so go check them out!

Nice place to study and shop. If you live in Parkpoint or faculty members of RIT, you will get discount from B&Ns Starbucks.
