I dont know what the other reviewer is talking about, as the artists at Medusa recommend and adjust designs (after discussion with you of course) so that they are done in such a way that they last. For example, I wanted a brown tattoo on my inner wrist, but after discussing with Tara and Carol, they convinced me that the best thing for my body and the integrity of my tattoo, would be to go with a black tattoo (especially since I was getting thin lines). Another reason this place is worth the price and money is: a tattoo is ALWAYS worth a wait, even if it is a 3 week wait. I waited 2 years to get my tattoo. Its not something you usually rush into. So waiting a couple weeks for a really solid artist makes sense to me. Money-wise, this place does ALL touch ups free, for the rest of your life. If that isnt a worthy investment, I just dont know what is. Its awesome to know that if my tattoo is fading a couple years down the line, I can go back to Medusa to get a quick touch up and catch up with the super awesome employees :) Lastly, you can never spend too much money on security. Medusa is extremely clean and professionally run. It also an extremely warm and inviting place. I loved going and admiring the decorations and browsing the artists books of work. Many locals choose Medusa, as well as college students and people from across the country (when I was getting my tattoo, a couple came in who had traveled a couple of states to get a tattoo here). This place is amazing, so dont let anyone make you think otherwise. For quality work and artists with real talent and integrity, choose Medusa.

I LOVE Medusa Tattoo. I have been tattooed by both Carol and Cesar as well as pierced by their former piercer, Nick. My first inkjobs from Medusa were in 2005, and after both pieces were completed, I have never needed a touch-up. I still receive endless compliments on the line work, the details, and the COLOR! I brought Carol a bunch of TaNk GiRL* comic books, we customized a TaNk GiRL* for me-- and its absolutely perfect. I have spent endless hours in Medusa and have loved every minute. I recommend them to anyone and everyone I know who is looking for a great tattoo studio-- both in the Ithaca area- but as well as Westchester County and NYC. It is worth the drive for out- of- towners. I have absolutely no problem waiting for a tattoo appointment with Cesar and Carol- a clear indication of their talent and general appeal! I dont remember what I paid for my ink, but I was a recent college grad with student loans to pay and I had no problem affording multiple sessions. And again, with all the compliments I have received over the past years, it was clearly worth every penny! Im looking forward to having the honor of having Cesar and Carol tattoo me again in the future! Thank you Medusa! Love you guys!!

Carol is an amazing, gifted artist. I wanted to have a photographic image of my beloved pet chicken, Lola, put on my right forearm. I had seen another friend, who had a sleeve of beloved animal friends put on her arm (created by Carol) and was blown away at the intricate detail. I recognized every animal face on my friends arm. It was pretty incredible to watch the process of Carol putting the image on my arm....with nothing more than small marks to indicate where shading would go. The end result is Lola looking up at me each and every day. Several of my friends have exclaimed, "Thats the most beautiful tattoo Ive ever seen!!"----and I wholeheartedly agree. Working with Carol was a gift and I love, love, love, my tattoo. Thank you so very much, Carol!

I have had two pieces done by Cesar (a person who I chose based on the recommendations of several friends who had great experiences and are his repeat customers). Not only was I thrilled with the results, but the entire process from start to finish was so enjoyable and rewarding. Cesar does a wonderful job of listening to your ideas and emotions and then translating them into a design that blends with your bodys contours. He really marries his artistry with your needs. He also pays painstaking attention detail -- both of my pieces were complex, and he showed such great care and focus in every sitting. And you cant beat the atmosphere at the Studio -- great music, great coffee (Gimme!), and great conversation. Will be going back for a third.

Wonderful, clean, and accommodating atmosphere! Had my first tattoo done by Cesar. He helped design it and did his research on the character featured in it. He was knowledgeable in his trade and was able to advise on placement and design alterations for best appearance. They love what they do and their passion is well demonstrated.
