Finding a good, solid, professional tattoo shop in the Baltimore/DC area can be surprisingly tough. When I was looking for my coverup on some deep and tough solid black tribal, I even looked as far as New York and Philadelphia as I could not find anyone I trusted with my skin in DC. I researched studios for over 3 years. I ended up going with Stevie, and although a long wait, it was absolutely worth it. Everyone in the shop is friendly, professional and knows what they are doing. Sissy is great as the first point of contact, working with your schedule and starting a folder for your "inspiration", making sure everything is set for your first appointment. Once the day came to get my work done, Stevie took his time, talked to me, listened to my feedback and ended up drawing an incredibly detailed coverup based on my ideas that will eventually be a sleeve. We ended up spending about five hours in the first session, and to see him work is to understand that tattooing is both an art and science, and he is an incredibly talented artist. He asked for my opinion even as he worked on the coloring, did an outstanding job on covering up some tough ink, and he even stayed late in the middle of a snowstorm to make sure the work was done properly and thoroughly. This is one of the best tattoo studios in the DC Metro area, and I would say one of the top ten on the East Coast. If you want quality work at a reasonable rate with top notch artists, there is only one clear choice in DC Metro: Pinz and Needlez.

Dan Steinbacher is the most informed and caring piercer Ive ever come across. I have five piercings done by Dan. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about his craft, but hes very patient in explaining the process to his clients, which makes the process much more comfortable. He explains the quality of the jewelry he gives his clients in comparison to other jewelry materials, he explains the tools and methods he uses to pierce and explains why he does things the way he does in comparison to other piercing methods, he explains what hes doing every step of the way, and even explains the biology behind the healing process. He taught me how to stretch my ears and how to take care of them properly to prevent tears and blow-outs and promote the best health for them I can. And hes easily accessible to answer any questions. Hes extremely sanitary and safe, and you can tell just by talking to him that he seriously cares about his clients and makes sure they get the most for what they pay for. Hes very serious about what he does, and it shows in his work. I recommend him to everyone I meet with any interest in body modification, and I have done so for years. I would easily say hes the best in the state at what he does.

After bouncing around to many shops, Pinz is now the only one I will go to. Finding a trustworthy and reputable shop is so hard nowadays. My first experience there was for my fourth tattoo, done by Jon Bon, and it is by far my favorite tattoo. I felt welcomed from the first moment I walked in, rather than intimidated. I have since gone back to Jon for another tattoo, and have an appointment for a third by him also. So, if anything, that should say something. I would definitely trust any of the artists, though, because their work is absolutely phenomenal. Check out their portfolios on the website or facebook page. On another note, when I went to make my most recent appointment, I ended up getting microdermals. I can honestly say that Dan Steinbacher was unbelievably patient and knowledgeable. He answered EVERY single one of my annoying questions and made me feel very comfortable with the entire process. The piercings look amazing and I probably wouldve backed out if he hadnt been so helpful. I LOVE pinz & needlez, and highly recommend them to anyone that asks!

I came to pinz and needlez to get a piece done because I had the utmost confidence inf the artists there. Chad Miskimon came and talked with me about it and gave his ideas and we scheduled an appointment. He charged me a rate for the hours he had talked about but went over just to perfect every little detail and didnt charge me anything extra. He has the desire to put only the best into his work. Everyone else I had dealt with there were super nice and the place was very clean, organized and professional. Everything went so well, that my brother that came with me decided to get a tattoo as well, and they hooked him up with a good price and a great tattoo. Honestly this is my tattoo shop for life now. I want to get more tattoos already but I need to save up. Between the atmosphere, the quality of work, and the prices this should be the first shop you check out when youre looking for another, or especially your first tattoo or piercing.

My boyfriend and I both got our tattoos here today. We called right when they opened and asked if they did walk ins. They said yes, and within an hour we were on a chair getting tattooed. Each of us had different artists, who sat us down and asked what we were looking for, added suggestions and tips, and walked us through it. It was my boyfriends first tattoo and his artist was extremely kind and helpful. We both got very different tattoos (I got a traditional color piece on my collar bone while he got a realistic black and grey bird on his calf). Both of our artists were enthusiastic, sketched us custom tattoos and sat with us for 3+ hours to do them, giving us breaks if we needed, making sure we were comfortable, it and keeping us entertained. Everyone is upbeat and supportive in the shop, the atmosphere is fantastic and most importantly, both of our finished pieces are fantastic.

Pinz & Needlez is the best place to get tattoos and piercings! My husband had a horrible tattoo that needed to be covered. A friend recommended Pinz & Needlez to us. As soon as we checked it out we loved it, the vibe of the place was great. Every single artist was outgoing, friendly, and ready to help. We had been to other tattoo shops .. And either they couldnt do the exact design we wanted, wasnt friendly, or just wasnt satisfied with the artwork they showed us. My husband has a half sleeve all done by Robo at Pinz & Needlez and he refuses to go anywhere else for tattoos. I had my rook pierced there and Dan & Matt were awesome. They talked me through everything, answered all questions and was just overall friendly. I highly recommend them to everyone, itll be the best experience!

Im very fond of Pinz and Needlez. Their staff is very professional and friendly, and the shop is very easy on the eyes. Ive only come into the shop to get pierced, but I plan on going back to get ink work done in the near future. The shop is very clean and sterile, and they highly stress good aftercare. They carry anything you may need to take care of your new piercing or tattoo. I highly recommend Matt Lyle for your piercing and body modification needs. He is very professional, honest and friendly. Each time that I have seen him he has been very meticulous to ensure that the piercing was where I wanted it and even. I will continue to go to him for all my piercing needs.
