If I could give this place zero stars I would. I used to work here and I can tell you this.....Dont board your pets here. This place is absolutely FILTHY!!! First off, there is a drainage issue which in turn has caused flies. They are EVERYWHERE and when I say that I mean it. I would battle " crowds" of flies at times and not only is it frustrating but its also gross. I have found flies all over dogs, their food and even some in their water bowls and some of them are just downright miserable bc of it. Plenty of times I have seen crowds of flies sitting on the walls in pets rooms. Speaking of water, half the time dogs dont have CLEAN fresh water. If they have water theres barely an 8th in their bowls and was told by management " thats fine". Whenever I would address the water issue in some cases I was given an attitude bc people would just wanna get things done so they could leave. I would be made to feel as if I was a nuisance by constantly addressing the issue practically every time I was there. Why? Bc I cared that a hotel which claims to be " high standard" cant even make sure dogs have water, nonetheless clean water before they leave for the night. I feel bad for dogs who board in the suites. There is a ventilation issue and the rooms are pretty warm so water evaporates quickly. People leave for the night and I have come across dogs who are still in dirty rooms with dirty bedding. Speaking of rooms, some of these rooms dont even get cleaned properly bc you have associates who " just wanna go home already". Ive been so beside myself at times that I even took pics of how nasty this place can be. I see these reviews on " been boarding my dog here for 5 years" or " Bailey loves it here" and I say to myself " if you only knew what I knew". Do your research. I wouldnt board my own dogs here and neither should you. Dont believe me? Ask to take a tour of the facility. I doubt theyll let you back there.

Zero stars not an option huh? Im not one to go online and disrespect a business, but this just has to be told. Sorry Petsmart of Farmingdale but you guys definitely dropped the ball on this one time after time, again and again. Not sure how hard it is to make/confirm a weekly camp appointment but whatever the stores protocol are their staff is 100% not aware of it. 4 times in 4 months I been informed that theres no housing available for my Bullmastiff pup, they always somehow have a different day. And they always seem to fix it right there on the spot, but guess what happens the following week? Yup you guessed it, wrong day again. Try talking to so called management, hahahhahahhahhaha!!! Weird but Petsmart of Melville never has giving me one issue at all. And same services priced lower too. If you dont care about your pet then yes Farmingdale is your place to go.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY PET SERVICE OR VET SERVICE!!! It amazes me that a store that endorses itself as an almighty "Pet Haven" cannot answer a simple question, has no Board Certified "Behaviorist" (a trainer is not a Behaviorist), and their Vet Hospital pees in their pants when you call to request an appointment for an American Staffordshire Terrier or "Pit bull". Disgustingly, I was told by the PetSmart (or should I say PetNotsoSMART) vet office to take my female dog elsewhere. In my opinion, not just personally, but professionally as a business owner, this place definitely needs new management and should be boycotted by pet owners.

DISGUSTING. My year old Shih Tzu, who was there for about a day and 1/2, was basically hyperventilating all the way home (a 15 minute drive) and when we got home he drank LOTS of water, as though he hadnt had it in a while. On top of that his paws were yellow. Why? Because he had been sitting in pee for who knows how long. Even after giving him a bath he still smelled strong of pee. Then, when I use the blow dryer to dry his hair he WHIMPERED. Usually he loves being blow-dryed, so this was beyond shocking. He is only know coming back to his happy self, at least 3 hours since we picked him up. Im never using this place again.

I have been boarding my Kate at the Farmingdale location since 2012 and have found the hotel and day care are wonderful. Before Kate comes home, she gets a bath and a grooming and she is good to go. The vets are caring and professional; the groomers pleasant; the hotel staff kind. Only good things to say about PetSmart.

I came in to have my dogs nails clipped they asked me if my dogs rabies shots are up-to-date I said yes but I didnt have the paperwork they called my vet and he said everything was in order within 10 minutes my daughter had her nails clipped and I was ready to go very efficient the groomers were excellent

We took our one year old German Shepard to the Petshotel in farmingdale for 8 days. In those eight days he lost 10 pounds!!! And left with an infection!!!!! When we called midthrough the stay they informed us that hes eating great and all is well!!!! Completely unbelievable!!!!

Had a family emergency and had to board my dogs last minute everything was fine til I was about to leave then they called me and said they called saying cant board dogs sorry totally screwed up my whole weekend thanks never will recommend them horrible customer service.

Horrible customer service, I was interested in buying a guinea pig but was not sure if I liked the fur color and asked if it could be taken out so I can see him better since he was hiding and she refused to take him out unless I was sure I was going to buy him.

Do not leave your dog alone with the associates, they are undertrained and inexperienced. Lack luster service, overly priced product/services and underpaid, under trained, RETAIL associates = a recipe for disaster.

The site is pretty clean for a chain pet supply store. And they have a cat adoption center, and the site donate the cat food and litter for the adoption center. They run good sales too.
