I called the new location on Atlantic Ave to ask if they had any Plaster of Paris in stock (DAP brand - I have purchased it at many different Michaels stores in NY & NJ before). The woman who answered the phone said she didnt know what that was, but as today was the grand opening they had sold out of "everything" so "no, we dont have any". What?! I asked her if I could speak to someone else who knew what I was asking for, or if she could check the inventory on the computer. After placing me on hold for about 30 seconds she came back to say "yeah, its all sold out". When I asked her when new stock would be arriving she said she had no idea as she wasnt in the replenishment department. I asked to speak to them so I could find out and she said I couldnt because they work from midnight to 3am. Again, what?! I worked in retail for years, her responses to my questions were ridiculous. She had no idea what the product was, if it was in stock, when they would get more - a really poor 1st impression of this new store. The management should be ashamed that they have trained their staff so poorly. Ill be purchasing my craft supplies elsewhere.

I called the store two hours ago . To see if they had melting chocolate in stock lol . I did not want to drive an hour and they did have the colors I needed .. They were to lazy to just go look on the shelf . They kept. Puting me on hold . Then the lady picked up the phone . And she said give me your number we will call u right back .its been two hours and no one called back . I need stuff and this is a joke . Poor Mangment in the Atlantic Ave store . And you hired employers that dont no what they are doing . I need seven pounds of chocolate . Im pissed cause I have a party coming up .Atlantic Ave store will close cause they dont no what they are doing . They dont no how to run s store .

Never again will I go back to this store ever and I mean never again will i go back this store omg one you cant find no one to help you some of the yarn was unravel and dirty I couldnt find what I wanted I should have went to Micheals at Metropolitan in Rego park the only thing i will say the cashier was friendly but other than that I hate this store I had a headache looking for stuff I needed it was like going into Conway what a total diaster

Michaels is a GREAT arts and crafts store. Along, with every seasonal decoration and floral store. When, I seen Michaels being built on Atlantic Avenue, I was in shocked and so happy. I use to wait, till I visit family in Pa., to find a Michaels. Welcome Michaels to Brooklyn. This store will be a success, and great for the neighborhoods around it. only carry "silver tone" jewelry findings, (bead and end caps) air dry clays are hard and usually out of stock.. dimensional fabric paints limited colors rarely find basic black.. almost impossible to find help on upper floor and worst of all staff dont seem to have any craft knowledge. I had such high hopes since I live in walking distance but have to go back to michaels on Columbus ave or northern blvd.

Had lots of stock. Not ever fully organized shelves. So its tough to be sure of the pricing. Sone self service bar code scanners would be helpful. Staff is polite, not always knowledgeable. The lines to check out are usually very long. I sometimes walk out just because the time to pay will take too long. Yet, its a great resource for many items that cant be found elsewhere in the neighborhood.

i shoplifted here for the first time in my life. What a joke this place is. I came for one item, they didnt have it. I browsed and picked up other stuff...waited 15 mins on line and just walked out with it. I owe em 5 bucks...they owe me 15 mins. Such a clown show. Maybe they are just supplementing their retail strategy. I know stealing aint right but... this place is worse than not alright.

The staff was not very well trained and there are a number of signs up listing sales or discounts on items, until you get to one of the two open registers (after quite a line) and they say they dont know anything about that. Youre faced with having to get off the line , and then having to wait again, to go get the sign to show them. The store is laid out well, the problem is the staff.

I like this place great place to pick up supplies arts and crafts they also so crafts to kids as well as adults if your into drawing, crafting leather, or making jewelry and even how to make cakes you will find it here give it a try you will like it buses are close by as well trains parking in area but be ready to spend for parking but I recommend this place

Here twice, and Im not impressed. Its clean and organized, and the staff is friendly, but inefficient. Spent half an hour waiting at the understaffed custom framing line to pick up before being acknowledged, then finding out my order isnt even ready, a week later than it was supposed to be. Ill try a different location for other framing needs.

This place is one of the best places to ever get arts and crafts. There paint is 75 cents plus tax. But there hot glue gun are three dollars plus tax but still pretty amazing. And it also has a little section for candy which is amazing. There are also Polaroids and laminaters which are really awesome

Most of the staff are lazy and not very customer-friendly, doch so fine that a few of those who know how to behave. store manager, I ran into was a disaster. I do not know in which way they found her. Rude and poor customer graces. Will never visit Michaels in Brooklyn again. Manhattan is far better.

Good old Michaels! Love this place but wish they restocked more often and there were more associates at the check out. This visit, the young lady at the checkout was really kind and still applied coupons even though I couldnt get the ones I had to show up in the app.

Love the crafty items, bit this location can stand to have more variety in what is offered in the baking section. Also gift bags boxes or birthday ideas can increase in options offered. However, I LOVE the product and store coupons sent to my email.

Finally a crafters place in Brooklyn, I got tired of traveling to Manhattan to get craft supplies. Its an easy convenience, but they do not hold many brands here for certain brand. But its still cheaper than having to go to Manhattan.

Nice location. Clean. Decently stocked considering it was day 3 of a great sale. However, there wasnt anyone available to assist on the floor. And when customers asked employees waking by for assistance they werent via helpful.

Love that I have a Michaels so close to work. Sometimes its hard to find an associate on the second floor. Recently stopped by on a Saturday and it was super packed will definitely stick to weekdays. Line usually moves pretty good.
