I brought a brand new bike to the shop for basic tune up. The owner seems friendly, but the work he did was totally ridiculous. The front brake was not tightened at all. I brought it back immediately and the owner tightened it. How can you miss the brake for a tune up? A few low gears are not shifting smoothly. The chain is also rubbing on the front derailleur cage and making noise. The tail is too far inward and making the gears shifting poorly. The bike chain derailed in a few minutes and I brought it back again. The owner gave me a "Oh You again, stupid noob" face. Its not helping when another old guy there telling me to read a manual. So I left as I didnt want to be embarrassed for being new to cycling. I went back home and adjusted the cable tension after watching a few youtube videos and fixed the gear shifting issue. Both of the pedals were not tightened. I rode it for less than 15 minutes and the right pedal broke. Half of the thread is damaged and the crankset is toasted. I checked the left pedal. Its loose as well. I didnt give him a time limit or make any request. I was nice and I even asked if he wanted me to pay first. I just dont understand how can he did his job so poorly. Its almost like the owner was trying to kill me for no reason. Seriously, WTF? If I know how to fix a bike, why would I spend my hard earned $40 for a tune up? Not to mention now I need to get a new crankset and probably need to spend at least $50 to get it repaired. My wife said I should bring the bike back and ask for refund, but I really dont feel like arguing with the old man. So, if you want some cheap parts and accessories, you may try this bike shop. I would stay very far away for repair/tuneup even its in my neighborhood. I ll be back for another tune up when I need to commit suicide.

I called the store on a Sunday morning looking to purchase an innertube for my mountain bike. I asked for the cost of it and the gentleman said $6. I then asked if they could change the innertube for me and he responded, "Yes." I asked if there was a charge for it and he said, "No. We can do it for you. All you need to do is buy the innertube and he can do that for you." I stopped by with my tire and told the gentlemen at the store that I called earlier inquiring about the innertube. He said that it can be picked up within the hour. I once again asked regarding the cost of the innertube and if there was any fee for changing it for me before I left. He said, "Itll be $6." I came back in 30 minutes to pick it up ready to give the $6 when he said the cost is now $12. Shocked, I asked what happened to just $6 he said earlier? To that, he said nothing but that he wont charge me tax; all 45 cents of it. Buyer Beware! I am not sure I will go back to this shop because of this experience. All I can say is that if you do decide to do business with this shop, make sure everything is in writing.

This place is a joke!!! The old fart that works there does not know anything about bikes! Ive been there three times. First time I came to install pedalls onto my road bike, one of which untied after 2 hours of riding (I almost got into an accident). Second time I came with a rear wheel from my folding bike that needed hub tune up. I went there on Monday at 4 pm and was told that he is busy when I could see him sitting and watching TV! I came next day in the morning and was told to leave the wheel with him for 3 hours, and all of this for 5 minute job!!!! Do not go to this shop unless you want to experience unacceptable customer service and ridiculous repair service!!! P.S. I went to R&A Cycles in Park Slope instead and a Spanish mechanic there fixed the wheel in 5 minutes for $5! Thats what I call a great shop.

Do not come here, this place is a ripoff and terrible service, i bought a bike lock and the next day it wasnt working, the key wouldnt unlock, i checked the websites and it said the keys would be old(new lock). The next day i went to the store and asked for help, the old man is sitting and he says he cant do anything to help me, so in the end i wasted 30 dollars for nothing. Dont come here, terrible service and products, wish i knew this before buying the lock, by the way no refunds...

Overpriced and bad service. Tried going multiple times, always felt like I got massively overcharged compared to others. They didnt even catch a giant piece of metal stuck in my brake for a 40$ tuneup. Try somewhere else. However, the few times they did a good job was tightening a poor brake even thought it had a stretched cable (stayed tight longer than other places) and machine trueing my bike wheel was well done. but anywhere can do those same tasks..

Avoid at all cost!!! I came here to remove Campy crankset from Serotta Titanium Frame. I could not believe my ears. First the owner (OLD dude) told me to leave the bike for 2 hours (Note, he was watching TV at that time and could not help me-WTF!!!). After I told him that I need it ASAP and will pay extra- his reply was "I dont have tools for that job" !!!! Just unbelievable.

Ive gone there 2 times already and everytime im very satisfied with their performance as well as customer service ! they are very nice and open to hear about different problems with your bike, they are always willing to fix anything wrong with it with no extra charge (unless its a new material you need for the bike) . overall its a great place and one of the best ive gone to

great guy.. Doesnt prey on ignorant cyclers.. I thought I had a broken break guy said it needed to simply be adjusted and did it for me for FREE.. The coney island bike shop wanted 14$. Really hard to come across an honest shop these days.. Least I could do is tip him
