Anyone who know me knows I love to read. Update: recently went into this Barnes and Noble with my kids. I was followed majority of the time. One of the security worker literally came up to me and stood right in front of me leaning on the bookshelf. I pointed to tell her I was going into that area (second floor). I was upset but refused to let that stop me for getting my books. I was helped by two workers and yet I was followed. Yes my bag was a little on the empty side but I was buying more than two books and I was holding it in a carrier. Long story short when I made my purchase the nice lady asked if I needed my bag doubled. I told her no that is what the empty bag was for. I placed my books in my bag and made she to make them see they wasted their time following me. STOP BEING JUDGMENTAL. I COME HERE ENOUGH TO KNOW ALL FACES I CANT BELIEVE I CAN NOT COME INSIDE TO BUY WITH MY CHILDREN WITHOUT BEING LOOKED AT AS A THIEF. BY THE WAY NEXT TIME PAY ATTENTION TO OTHER PEOPLE. YOU PROBABLY GAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE A CHANCE ON THEIR BAD DEED WHILE YOU FOLLOWED ME AND MY NICE CHILDREN WHO KNOW NEVER TO TAKE WHAT DO NOT BELONG TO THEM. I was extremely hurt by this. I will walk into this Barnes and Noble again. If this happen again with my children, I will make sure to voice my mind there in a professional manner of course.

This evening, I was wrongfully targeted & profiled by a Supervisor at the Borough Hall Barnes & Noble. After being wrongfully scolded for leaving a trail of garbage & scattered books, I felt compelled to let him know that he had me confused with another patron. After all, we are sure to clean up our books, and throw away our Starbucks cups and snacks when done. I was completely dismissed after expressing my dismay with his insistent indifference & accusations. Not only did I leave my $100+ merchandise behind, Mr. Matt Thompson did not know that he was interfacing with a consumer who will report when customer courtesy is not a consideration. Not one to complain much but I felt disrespected, violated & chastised in the presence of my children. Why does Barnes and Noble allow patrons to read books in store if its gonna be a problem? I am a frequent patron of Barnes and Noble but this branch in particular is where I spend the most dollars. ($100+ per visit) This was the most terrible experience I ever faced coming from such a large entity. So Disappointed!!!

I tend to stop in BN to look around and then order my books through Amazon or walk over to the Strand. Why? Their stores are so impersonal, If you are a reader like me, you miss the old days where the smaller bookstores had clerks who read books as well and could recommend new authors etc. When BN came on the scene and muscled their way into becoming top dog they failed to take into account people like me, who want that personal touch. To this day I find it hard to purchase anything from their stores. Take this latest visit, you ask the clerk where such and such is, they look it up on the computer, walk you over to that section and leave. When I ask about other books similar to the one Im looking for I get the blank I dont know stare. So frustrating. The only bright spot is that BN is being muscled out by another impersonal store, Amazon, and all I can say is "how does it feel?"

I love book stores. Raised my children in the B&N story hour and met so many authors. This book store is perfect. Helpful staff that knows where the books are located. It beats the public library. Great place to hangout and take pride in the pages. I enjoy seeing the hard covers so neatly presented on the shelves. The cute displays of gadgets for books like lights, book marks, crafts & stickers. The Starbucks upstairs serves great coffee and everyone chills with a bit of conversation and reads. Free wifi allows one to work. Plenty of seating as well.

My family stopped in here for a quick hot coco and my daughter caught up on her latest anime craze of Naruto and I sat with My Guy and conversed about the movie wed just seen as we enjoyed our warm drinks. This Barnes and Noble is ok. I dont like how exclusive and tight hold they are with some of the books. But overall its cool. Again their African American authors for tweens, children and teens can be much more diverse and bigger. Its a tiny section that gets moved quite often

Even though they were very busy, there was plenty of staff to help answer questions and help check out. The selection was very broad. Theres something for people of all ages. The cafe is also a great addition if you want to sit down and read your latest purchase along with some coffe. If your looking for collections and series, Barnes and Noble is the place to look. Overall, I definitely recommend this store.

Absolutely disgusted!! Went to get new books with my family and got profiled. Security guard and a cop followed us everywhere for no reason. They were literally breathing down our necks centemeters away everywhere we went. I was so excited to BUY new books n left empty handed due to feeling so uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Never going there again, literally in disbelief. Completely disgusted!

Great place to hangout while your waiting for your movie at the nearby theater. The Starbucks upstairs is out of the way enough so not to crowded. Plenty of seating as well as a clean floor to sit if needed. The staff is great and very helpful. The only problem is parking. Almost impossible during the day. The world needs more book stores.

I really like this B&N location. Its bright, airy and the staff is super helpful. As soon as I stepped off the escalators on the second floor, two reps offered to help me find my book, and they did. Love the clearance section, too, and they even have a $2 section, but it seems to be mostly old city test prep books.

Bookstores are disappearing and that is very sad. This Barnes & Noble is a great location it is near the trains. It is next door to a movie theater so whenever I go to see a movie in Brooklyn I stop by here to kill some time as Im always early. The shop is always clean and organized and is very easy to access.

Had a huge selection to choose from and the staff was extremely nice. Has a sitting area to relax and even bathrooms if youre looking for one. Toy and games section could just some expansion but overall was a nice experience if youre looking to stop by and browse.

Super kids friendly book store. Hear with your kids (all ages) to the 2nd floor and youll see an endless row of strollers. Parents and kids can sit on the floor and read/play as much as they want. Obligatory Starbucks is only a few steps away on the same floor
