First of all, when my mother and I learned about the Teacher Appreciation day on October 8th at Barnes and Nobles, we were both very excited and honored to have a special morning dedicated to all educators. I have to say what occurred today was an absolute disgrace. Instead of being a wonderful and honorable event towards educators, it was plain insulting! Shame on all of you. Considering how much money Barnes and Nobles makes from teachers on a daily basis you would think you could at least have the 15 gift cards all be worth at least $10-15. The way Barnes and Nobles advertised you didnt even mention how the gift cards were left up to chance, and not guaranteed. Or if you dont want to waste any of your money on educators then forget the 15 gift cards and simply have the tea and coffee, cause at least that would have meant more. What Barnes and Nobles did ended up being hurtful. Im glad you think educators are worth $1.00. I have to say many people there were very upset and frankly I cant blame them. There was also a miscount with the 15 people. One lady was number 15 in line and in the end never got your lousy gift card. From this day forward, I will NEVER walk into another Barnes and Noble - not even to spend a lousy dollar!!!!!

The Library wishes it was a B&N. Barnes an noble has become more than a bookstore. Reading, socializing, community events, a cafe. Friendly staff that are willing to help you find what you need. This location has a great cafe serving Starbucks coffee and a variety of soups, sandwiches and snacks. Most days you can find people playing chess, crocheting or doing schoolwork. Many social clubs meet here to discuss books or share their craft. Often, there is a school here wrapping gifts or selling books as a fundraiser. With so many great things you may wonder about my 3 star rating. During the evening and weekends it can pe so popular here that it is hard to find a seat or someone to assist you. Also, the bthrooms are always in need of some type of cleaning. I reccommend ooming and hanging out, going on a first date or making some new friends. Try the food in the cafe, its good, the coffee is better. Find a good book and read a little.

Large, multi-level store. Spacious Starbucks licensed cafe (NOT an actual Starbucks) with decent coffee and treats. The childrens department is fantastic, providing story hour and crafting multiple times a week. The store also participates in hosting many community events. The books may be pricy, but the staff is knowledgeable and the membership makes shopping more affordable storewide and online (this includes the cafe and music department).

I understand its the holidays and shopping is hectic I wasnt too happy standing in line to purchase a couple stocking stuffers and a book and then I walked over to Starbucks to get a coffee but I was unable to use my Starbucks gift card apparently its not a Starbucks at all but a Barnes & Noble Café that sells the Starbucks product LOL confusing but Im past it nothing too special nothing to negative ... 3stars

Barnes & Noble Poughkeepsie is a wonderful place to buy books, records, coffee, and board games as well as a great place to just hang out. The service is great and they have a great selection that should satisfy about any reader. It is also worth noting that it smells like heaven. Expect higher prices here than online markets, but this place has a certain charm to it that makes it worth the stop.

My second home. I love the staff, Especially Kelsey. I love that its 2 floors and how they still have comfy chairs. When I lived out of state, the Barnes I went to didnt have the chairs or a as great of a selection as here. Since I grew up here, I always compared other locations to here. I am a little sad that they close earlier now. I thought them being open late was such a great feature.

The most unfriendly Stop & Shop Ive ever been in. One syllable answers for directions to items, and checkout clerks who dont even make eye contact, much less speak. Once I left behind a fairly obvious item on the checkout counter but the clerk couldnt be bothered to call after me. I would only shop there out of necessity, never by choice!

Come here when you can savor the size of their collection. Frequent discounts on great books. A fabulous ebook program with the nook also. However putting books on teaching in the childrens sections like putting books on cooking in the fridge. Respect our teachers they are highly educated and deserve to sit at the adults table.

Quiet and good to get some work done while out of the office. To use a plug though you have to be in the eatery, as they moved the table upstairs further from the outlet, if I recall. Either that or they literally covered the outlet up. Doesnt work out too well when your battery only holds 20 minutes of charge.

Love all Barnes and Nobles. This is a very large store with Starbuck area. Become a member as you will get discounts everytime you make a purchase as well as email coupon discounts. They also have great bargain books and clearance table . Wonderful childrens section and activities.

Favorite place to go when needing a quiet location to get some work done. The cafe is spacious with ample seating and outlets ;). The internet is great here. Just an all around great B&N! Clean, quiet and comfy! They also have a fabulous Chinese New Year selection for kids!

The only major traditional bookstore in the area. One of the highlights of the bookstore is the coffee shop & cafe featuring Starbucks Coffee products. The store environment is kept in top-notch shape. The customer service desk is very helpful.

I love this store! They not only have books, but they have awesome desserts too! I also found a couple of great gift ideas that were candles and one was this really cool puzzle, a 3D puzzle. I guess you could say something for everyone.

Barnes and noble is an awesome bookstore tht u can go to and sit down and read books for however long you want to. Be it upstairs, downstairs, in the Starbucks cafe, or even sitting down on the floor. I could litterally live here.

Great selection, however, buyer beware: The brick and mortar store will not price match their own online store. Also, the Starbucks doesnt allow you to use your digital gift card. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE staff!!

My wife and I love going here its more than just books, they have a great music and movie section (with vinyl). A Starbucks with plenty of seating and a great selection of educational toys and puzzles.
