I am shocked at how my family was treated and serviced by this business. I am a local Westwood resident who believes in supporting the local businesses in my community, so I purchased a few Rolex watches along with other jewelery from La Viano over the years. Last year around this time, I brought my moms gold Rolex watch into the store for service with my dad. The watch was looked over and I was told they would call with an estimate for repair. Weeks passed and I never heard back. With great frustration I continued to follow up on the watch and was always treated rudely and given the run around. I FINALLY received an estimate for $800 for the repair and agreed to it because I just wanted the watch back quickly. Yet again, months passed with no word from La Viano. After constant calls and checking in at the store, we finally got the watch back. Recently, my mom began to have trouble with her watch and decided to bring it directly to Rolex in New York City since we no longer wanted to deal with the unprofessional manner at La Viano. The representative at Rolex looked over the watch and said the parts that were replaced by La Viano were not authentic Rolex parts and this would affect the value of my mothers watch!!! We were also shocked to learn that La Viano is no longer an authorized Rolex center since we were never informed by the La Viano staff. Rolex is currently investigating this matter for us and I am filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. We will never do business with La Viano again or refer them to anyone as this has been extremely upsetting for our entire family who trusted our local jeweler.

I went into LaViano looking for a Breitling watch for my husband, for our 10 year anniversary. I had gone to a couple Breitling authorized dealers (ADs) in the area as well. By far, LaViano was the best and heres why: they have a great selection; they are very knowledagble about the brand and offerings; they were not pushy for a sale; they were very willing to help put together the exact combination I was looking for; price; and customer service, which is the most important to me. So the other Breitling ADs were not willing to change out the band-I was looking for leather, and LaViano had a selection of branded bands to choose from. The watch I wanted came with a rubber strap, and they told me I could change it to any combination I wanted, which was great since I wanted leather. They also gave me a great price right off the bat--I knew the MSRPs, so there was no BSing there. They showed me MSRP and then the price they would sell it for. One AD (not to be named) tacked on a few $ to MSRP, which I believe is due to their additional service warranty (that I didnt ask for! Breitlings from ADs would have a 2 year warranty anyhow); and getting a discount was like pulling teeth and meager at that. LaViano gave me the best price, by far, which was great. To solidify the deal, Chris and Scott in the watch department were very pleasant with me. They treated me with great respect and courtesy, and that is what won me over--hands down! I would highly suggest that if you are looking for something special, definitely visit LaViano!

I upgraded my engagement ring setting 15 years ago at LaViano in Westwood. I went there b/c of their reputation. I was a novice at buying diamonds and trusted their salesman, Bert, to lead me in the right direction. I loved the ring when I first got it, but over the years always felt that I could see the symmetry was off, and I was not happy with the fire or scintillation. When my son was looking for an engagement ring, I did a lot more research into buying diamonds and was recommended to a very good jeweler in NYC. Before he even looked at my diamond and we were discussing my sons criteria, he said he would never sell us a diamond with a polish and/or symmetry below "Very Good". You see, there are several sub categories and criteria to take into account when you are buying a diamond. When I looked at my GIA report, my diamond was only "Good,Good". Now things started to fall into place. While I knew about the "4Cs" 15 years ago, I didnt know about everything else. Bert never explained all those "tiny details". I have now tried to sell my diamond and cannot get back what I paid for it. I am also being told most wholesalers would rather re-cut the diamond to get a better rating. I was very disappointed in LaViano and would never buy from them again.

I was completely mortified by the way I was treated at this establishment. I came into the store looking for a new rolex and was not given the time of day. While I do not fit the profile for the typical watch collector given my age I did come prepared with enough cash on hand to purchase the $8,000 watch outright. While I was not looking to hard-bargain it is standard for there to be some negotiating when it comes to rolex (typically around 12% give or take). They made a ridiculous low-ball offer on a watch I was wearing as a trade and really did not treat me with any dignity or respect whatsoever. I am not looking for anyone to roll out the red carpet but the attitude of the employees here is just beyond words. I was really upset with the condescending and negative attitude of this the people working here. The employees were not only devious and slimy-something you would expect from a swindler on 47th street or in a mall jewelry exchange and not from your supposed friendly local jeweler. They did not only lose a customer today but a family of customers and I really do hope for their sake they learn the proper way to treat people.

I had a terrible experience at the watch department of La Viano. I took a Patek Philippe in to get its authenticity verified, and the watch was returned to me with scratches on the metal on the back of the watch face. I brought the watch back in to get the scratches polished out, and the watch repair man could not have given me more attitude. He was completely unprofessional. After grugingly taking the watch to buff out the scratches he had created, he returned the watch to me with a scratch on the glass, arguing that he didnt do it. I urge anyone considering to purchase a watch here or to have a watch repaired here to please reconsider.

Scott in the watch department is a class act. Always a pleasure to work with him and the team at LaViano and as a result Ive bought a number of timepieces from them over the years. Most recently a watch that I purchase had a malfunction which was taken care of immediately and without fuss. I highly recommend LaViano and look forward to my next occasion to buy another watch.
