Basic suburban supermarket. Good selection , fair prices. It does feature an expanded kosher aisle with kosher items not normally found in most supermarkets and a full self-service kosher meats section. The quality is less than at a top-end kosher store but better than others. It has limited kosher full- service choices. Not the place for kosher catering. Other than that it is always fully stocked with national and specialty brands and it has a pharmacy, flowers section, greeting cards and a bakery (not certified kosher). Pretty much can do all of your shopping at once here if you choose. Shop Rite is always running sales and specials too so that can save costs for the savvy shopper.

Sassafras is an idiot. The SHOPRITE is WO is the best. Ive been to them all in Livingston, Milburn, East Hanover (PM) and Short Hills. If you want to experience great service and KIND people - go to WEST ORANGE. If you afraid of diversity - then by all means hang out with the entitled patrons of Livingston. try going to the livingston SR before a major holiday .... then try going to west orange SR (on the same day) then tell me that you think Livingston is better. Good luck with that. MIKE is the manager at WO/SR - hell talk to you and help you with anything. He runs a GREAT market. Try that in any of the others.

Long lines at check out, no baggers, dark lighting, not the cleanest SR in the area. Walking into the store its downright dirty. Conjested and just not a fun place to shop. The best part is the pharmacy and the pharmacist and staff that run it. The pharmacist is top knotch, and she will always explain medications and call you too. She is great and so are the pharm techs. I get my meds there and only go to this SR if im in the area. Ive given up trying to do my weekly shopping there, its just too messy. I now go to Bloomfield Brookdale, even though its farther from home.

I love this ShopRite. I used to come here on a regularly when I worked in the area, but I made a recent after visit 2 years when I happened to be close to the area and I remembered why I had always liked it. The place is HUGE and they have so much to offer, between the small cafe with cooked foods, a nice bakery with delicious sweets, and deli and fish department. Ive always found the employees to be kind, courteous, and helpful. If I ever find myself in the area needing groceries, Ill stop back in.

Employees REFUSE to bag your items and will try to convince you that its your job if you request that they do. If you make a complaint to a manager they will state that the employee did NOT refuse to bag because its their job and such things dont occur, rather than address and rectify the issue. Place is over-crowded, understaffed, employees are very crass, this place has gone radically down hill and management doesnt care. Go 10 minutes farther and use the one in Livingston.

While we shop here due to the proximity to our home, we try our best to travel to Pathmark in East Hanover or to the Shoprite in Livingston. This store in West Orange is often dirty, very crowded, the staff can be surly, and in short its a ghetto mart. People are loud and crass. We really deserve better in West Orange. Go look at the Shoprite in Parsippany on Rt 46 for some ideas. That should be a flagship store. Big, bright, open and SO clean.

This store is one crowded mess. Most employees are in street clothes and are unfriendly, clueless, and more concerned with their cell phones than the customer. There was this one person that was packing out hand cream and I asked her about a certain brand of bread. Sounding like a recovering alcoholic, she told me all the bread we have is in the last aisle. She didnt even turn around and look at me. I felt brushed off.

Love this shoprite and the kindness and friendship of the morning shift except a few people but thats ok I dont have to go to their register. The pharmacy here is the best you get your prescription on time and the call the doctor before they call you if something is not right. I have been coming here for more than 15 years and enjoy coming all the time because its also very close to me. Keep it up

Was not a good experience I was charged extra $3 on my EBT card saying that I have bought something that wasnt food which was a lie still around waiting for 20 minutes for somebody to straighten straighten it out and I couldnt wait any longer because I had to go back to work so I ended up giving ShopRite $3 which they didnt deserve so no I didnt have a good experience

The fresh produce and deli are great, modern, welcoming. Bakery people ha e been rude and not very helpful.... What do you want is all they want to know. As for the rest if the store, aisles are narrow and lighting is adequate but not inviting. There is always aisle blockage by people or deliveries. It makes it very difficult and. U inviting to shop there.

Quality is Good but the "Manager Evelyn" has no manners and Horrible attitude its a shame that because of her I refuse to go back to shop there, I feel bad for the employees if she treats them nearly as bad as she talks to customers. "People" like her should not have a management position. So Bad that I will be writing a letter to corporate.

Very friendly cashiers, staff at deli very polite and the fish monger is great. He even suggested to me a list of spices for a new fish I was trying out. Hes smiles a lot and is very easy to speak too. Clean store as always and shelves fully stocked. I love this location and have been shopping here for about 7 yrs.

Just watch out for the sale prices in this store. Sometimes they may be wrong or that sale may have been expired. I had to bring the sale tag to the cashier to prof the sale price for Mozzarella cheese. Before that he refused to give me sale price, saying that the computer is showing the full price.

Service is slow workers more concerned with breaks and policies than customers. The salad bar is the worst and nobody is ever at the counter and they always send you to the regular checkout to wait in a long line while your food gets cold.

I love how this establishment thought about the children who accompany their parents when going food shopping by providing miniature shopping carts, making them fill all grown up and be apart of the shopping experience. Kudos

Front end manager Mike is never fair. He rejected a family pack of chop meat and said it was single. Clearly it had two separate portions of meat at family pack price. Didnt argue just left me behind. He needs to be replaced

I like the produce and they have very good selections in almost all areas of the store. Can sometimes get crowded - but I find that mostly a good solid place to get good food at good prices.

The food is mostly fresh and the store workers are all more than willing to help....[expect] for the prejudice female in the deli area her name was [Donna] a real piece of work.
