The Good: Portion sizes were very generous. Wait staff was courteous. The Bad: There was a hair in the tortilla chips. It took a while for the food to come out, and they did not bring out both of our orders at the same time (but did apologize and recognize both of these issues). The Fajita food was served in a real hot skillet - which used to impress me, not so much when your food is already borderline overcooked. Also - the shrimp still had their tails on, which is a pain since you have to make your own fajita. We were at a fairly small table, the waitress was not attentive at all, - served me a second drink after I had to ask her - then I had to ask her to remove the empty drink. Youd think most of these things would be common sense. At check out time I knew I was going to have to hunt her down - seeing how I barely saw her the entire evening.

I agree service is a bit slow. But the food is more than worth the wait. Wife had each of the $2 Tacos trying to pick out the one for next time. Couldnt pick, she loved all of them! The salsa, horchata and pineapple drink were all fresh made like her Tacos and my chorizo/chicken burrito. This is one outstanding authentic Mexican restaurant. Well be back as often as we can, but since we live in Rome, NY (1.5hrs away) not as often as we would like. I cant believe there wasnt a line down the street. Must be selfish people not sharing a great restaurant :)

This Mexican grocer and taqueria is some place I will visit regularly! I got a large bag of blue corn tacos which are the perfect texture - something which can be oddly difficult to find. I also tried the chorizo and I will definitely be returning for more of that. They also have a variety of cheeses and frozen items. I suggest you check them out if you have any interest in Mexican food.. I found all kinds of wonderful foods that will enhance my attempts at Mexican cooking and I cant wait to try the tacos!!!

I have eaten here many times and rarely do I come away disappointed with anything they do. The dining room is clean and quiet. The food is very good and I always enjoy trying new things. The grocery store is pretty cool if you like strange candy or discount Mexican DVDs. I would recommend this to anyone in the Capital Region looking for a good Mexican meal. This place blows Mexican Radio out of the water in terms of value and food quality.

There are two types of Mexican restaurants: ones with a dozen page menu and 25 combinations. And then theres la mexicana. Theres probably 10 items on the menu, but theyre all very authentic and fresh. The salsa is very fresh, everything is affordable. Most of the entrees are under $10 and the portions are huge. You really cant go wrong here, unless youre looking for tex mex. Definitely a hidden jem in schenectady.

Having grown up in Oklahoma, I love Mexican food, and this is the closest thing Ive found to authentic Mexican food in the Capital Region. Everything Ive tried, from the tostadas to the flautas, is flavorful. Sometimes the slow-cooked beef and pork used in the tacos and tostadas are a bit too salty for my taste, but I keep returning for the fluffy rice and silky refried beans.

I recognized the art from the state of Jalisco and the tacos, I have never had a more authentic Mexican meal in the US. If you want Tex-Mex go to bombers or taco bell, if what you are looking for is the stuff you get out of a cart on the beach in Puerto Vallarta you will find it right here.

This place is the real deal! The carnie lingua tacos were outstanding. The staff is very friendly and the dining room is quiet and clean. They speak English and of course Spanish. Do yourself a favor and experience an authentic Mexican meal here.
