This is not another run of the mill "WE BUY GOLD" dealers who pop up on every corner when gold prices run high. This is a knowledgeable, informative and trustworthy family business whos been in business for a long time. Ive been treasure hunting (metal detecting) on land & in the water for over 30 years. I have recovered countless silver and gold coins & jewelry that was from recent times back to the colonial era and they were able to ID coins that I didnt even know what they were. And Ive just about seen them all. They are on top of any fast market change and have always paid me as much if not more then what I wouldve gotten going to Philly or New York. Because whether you go to NY, Philly, Waretown or some small town in mid America they all buy/sell according to the same market so going to "the city" changes nothing. Its the market that determines what price dealers pay. One day I dug a very large mens run from an old swimming hole. But the shiny finish I knew it was gold right as I found it. Unfortunately it had a ding in it so bad the cost to repair wasnt worth what value it may ad so I decided to sell as scrap. Being old it was not marked but it was clearly gold. After showing it to Matt he agreed it was good gold. I was hoping it was at least 14k not 10k Being the size was so big it made a big difference. After testing it for 14k and it showed it was the acid test acted funny. I knew it was gold but I saw how the acid acted and got a little uneasy. He said he thinks he knows what happening and further tested. Comes to be it was almost 22k. Most likely it was made from melting down an old gold coin being Thats the same purity of old American gold coins. He took out the calculator then showed me what he was willing to pay. Almost paid back 2/3rds of my detector on that ring! I was just hoping on it to at least be 14k but he didnt take advantage of any easy situation he could have. This is how this business is run and I wound up being paid over $200 more on this large mans ring then I was hoping for. So the least I can do is show thanks in return by letting everyone know how they can trust selling anything at Waretown coin & stamp. Hopefully Ill have another good season and Ill be seeing them again!!!

Matt and his daughter Bonnie are without a doubt, 2 of the nicest and knowledgeable people you will ever meet In the stamp and coin business. The store is well stocked not only with stamps and coins, but with antiques and other collectables. It is definitely worth the trip from anywhere in new Jersey. Dont take my word. Go see for yourself
