This acme on bay Ave in manahawkin isnt the best super market. Its a little old an run down. Plus it seems they never have enough people on the register. Plus there prices are a little high. I really only go there when things are on sale that I need or if I just need a few things. However I have to say that the people that work there are really nice an will help u with anything u mght need help with. I also love the fact it isnt crowded. Which is a plus considering that manahawkin NJ only has two super market in the whole town. The other is ShopRite on 72. But the shop rite is so over crowded that by the time u leave the place your in a bad mood.The amount of people we get in the summer is just unreal. The place is busy enough with just the locals. So the acme is a good place to go in the summer u are able to get in an get out. So when its summer time I definitely go to the acme. I just wish they would up grade the place. It would be so much better if they did. It would also be nice if they were to put a salad bar there too.

I feel compelled to address the comments about not enough people on registers in the store. Between my husband and I, we are at Manahawkin Acme on a nearly daily basis all year long , at all times of the day. As soon as the lines get to more than 2 people another person is called to man the register. In addition, there is always someone to assist if you need help. The produce, meat, and deli departments are outstanding . The interior of the building is clean and well-maintained, the staff friendly and efficient. We always save 15-30% through their excellent sales. As 40 year residents and frequent shoppers, this our go - to grocery store.
