This is a response to the review by Amy Plotkin, which I requested to be removed by Google due to its offensive language and vindictive intent. I have practiced next to Sears Optical in Hackensack NJ as an independent Doctor of Optometry for over 21 years. I have provided comprehensive eyecare to tens of thousands of satisfied patients, some of whom return to see me even after they move out of state and most patients recommend me to their family members, co-workers and friends.. Eye examinations I perform include vision testing, cataract , glaucoma and diabetic eye disease testing, external eye disease treatment as well as high complexity contact lens fitting. ,My fees, both for eye exams and contact lens fitting, are accurately calculated in accordance with vision care insurance policiy fee structure and have been unchanged for over 10 years.Anyone whose vision insurance policy doesnt fully cover contact lens fitting , is asked to pay 90% of premium fitting charge (which are considered all contact lens fits except daily wear single vial yearly lens) in accordance with vision care policy regulation. If I happen to be outside of my office when a patient arrives, I try to help the optical staff to explain this fee structure.This particular patient, was not willing to pay the appropriate fee, even though I patiently ( and in a friendly manner) explained to her the contact lens fitting fee policies. This disgrunted woman, who never was seen by me as a patient, wrote a deceiving and hateful review , distorting the reality of what happened at my office on that day and what happens in general.

UNETHICAL & RUDE doctor. Dr. Irina Perelman is a liar & a thief - charging more than she is allowed!! I over heard her rudely speaking down to one of the associates then, she tried to do it to me. She does NOT want to accept insurance & trys to trick new patients, saying they do not have coverage. She then tried to charge me an additional $20 because my exam was not a "basic exam", but she didnt even preform the exam yet!!! I asked the difference between a normal exam & the only one she performs. She said she "does not prescribe normal daily lenses", yet I wear normal lenses & she "can deem anything to be more than a normal exam". She is cheating patients out money!!! I walked out after the HORRIFIC treatment I received as a new patient.

I have been a patient so was my family for many years and Dr. Perelman provided an excellent service all my past visits. This doctor always being is caring, attentive and detailed exam offered to my family and would not go anywhere else. Dr. Perelman displayed being professional, personable, concerned, warm and knowledgeable very noticeable to all her patients. The only way to experience this opinion is by seeing her to believe that. Its funny looking at the reviews they are talking about managers or products and not Doctor. I found Dr. Perelman is very intelligent, polite and never rude, people just want to hear what they want to hear or prepared for.

I did not interact w/ Dr. Irina. She was on the phone w/ technical service about something that was not working, and kept it erupting the manager who was trying to fit back the lens to my prescription sunglasses. Davida, the manager, on the other hand was good. She was "matter of factly" at first but realed me in with her easy going & friendly attiude. She went beyond just taking my glasses and sending them out. She fixed my sunglasses, explained my options for replacing my reading pair and kept the cost to a mminimum. Id go there again... hopefully, not requiring to deal w/ Irina.

The had a deal for 2 pairs of glasses going. Really limited selection of frames and only with basic lenses but what can you say. Went in 2 times and the manager both times explained that the choices were from 2 sections. He saw me trying them on, answered my questions....came back the 3rd time with my wife and he tells me that the pair Id picked out didnt work on the deal...but hey were in the section all 3 times I went by. Nothing could be worked out. How can you trust them when they do stuff like that?

Quite frankly I found them all very helpful. I have a really bad eye problem and she corrected it. SHe respects her patients and treats them well. Her staff is very professional and attentive. I also found out that they charge me less than the thief optometrist I had prior to my visit. My contacts are pricey but they are special ones. I honestly believe they are AMAZING. I told her to let me know if she changes offices because I want her to continue being my eye doctor. She loves her job and shows it.

I have been a patient of Dr. Irina Perelmans for 15 years. Shes not only extremely professional and talented, but also kind. She makes sure that her patients are comfortable and at ease. Im extremely shocked to see negative reviews for her and I implore that no one pays them any attention. Dr. Perelman is a great optometrist and I can guarantee that you will have a positive experience with her if and when you come in for an appointment.

I saw Dr.Perelman as a walk in patient for an eye exam recently and I felt that I received a very thorough eye examination. She was caring, friendly and professional and addressed all my eye health concerns and made recommendations for glasses. I was so impressed by her expertise and professionalism that she will be my eye doctor for all my future eye care needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend this eye doctor to other patients.

Absolutely HORRIBLE. Stay away, go to Target or Walmart instead. Picked up my lenses and people can read my prescription from the outside lenses. Informed them different lab nothing we can do..
