We recently purchased a new Samsung refrigerator, oven and dishwasher. All towards the top of the level of appliances. We spent $4,600 in total. One of our biggest concerns about purchasing Samsung appliances was the poor service reviews on the internet and from stores that didnt sell the brand (of course that was expected). While at Best Buy, we had a very thorough discussion with the appliance manager named Chuck regarding the reliability and service of Samsung products. Actually we had several discussions with him as we were trying to be very cautious and make a good buying decision. He reassured us that Samsung is as good as any other brand and that Best Buy would stand behind any service issues for the first year if any came up. All we had to do was call the Geek Squad and they would handle it. Of course I am writing this review, because yes we have an issue and yes Best Buy refuses to stand behind what they sold. The Samsung dishwasher, according to the error code that it is displaying, has a major fundamental malfunction. Apparently it is leaking internally and the directions in the troubleshooting section of the owners manual instructs that you immediately cut the water and turn off the circuit breaker - not to reassuring right Chuck? We called Best Buy this morning to make an appointment as were told by Paul the assistant manager, we dont handle Samsung repairs and service, call Samsung. This is the exact opposite of what we we told when we were purchased the appliances. We were obviously irate as we now have to deal with a nameless organization to handle this issue and not the local Best Buy that we have purchased so many TVs and other goods from. The only suggestion from Paul the assistant manager was maybe he could talk to Chuck the appliance manager and maybe he "knows someone" who could help out. Is he serious? His suggestion is to do some shady deal with someone we have no trust in with someone who "fixes" things. This is truly amazing. We could have purchased the appliances from internet stores for less money, but we really wanted the security of having service if needed from where we bought our apliances. This episode proves that there is no reason to go this route and I will consider internet options next time a major purchase is needed. I will call Samsung and hope that we will get timely resolution and service. We will post an update. But please read this review and draw your own conclusions. Thanks, Dave Schmoyer

My wife and I had a Sub Zero fridge in our house when we bought it, and, after 25 years, if finally died. We bought a new LG fridge at Best Buy in Deptford. Our salesman, Derek, was great to work with through the sale and scheduling of the delivery. We were concerned about the removal of our old fridge since it is 7 feet high and about 600 pounds. Derek confirmed that they have done Sub Zero fridge removal before and that it wouldnt be an issue. When the new fridge was delivered, however, the guys that delivered it took one look at the SZ and said they werent touching it. We ended up having to leave the new fridge in our living room until we could get it sorted out. I went back to see Derek regarding this issue, and immediately, him, his manager Geoff and another female manager (sorry - forgot her name) were on it. They called other stores (Lowes, Sears) to see who they used for breakdowns of SZs (they had no one to do that work by the way - saying they dont deal with SZs) Long story short, the installer that was scheduled for the next day to install the new water line took a look at the set up. Per Geoffs instructions, we asked the installer to call his boss to see if they could return and break it down. They agreed to do it a few days later. It wasnt cheap, but I was assured by Geoff and appliance manager Russ that after it was done, bring them the receipt and they would reimburse me the cost. My old fridge was removed yesterday, and when I went back to Best Buy last night, I was refunded the cost - no questions asked. While I wasnt thrilled with the delivery or the install guys, they are completely separate contractors that Best Buy is stuck with. However, the staff at Best Buy Deptford did everything they could to ensure that I was taken care of. My old fridge is gone, my new fridge is hooked up and works great, and Best Buy Deptford made sure it wasnt my problem. If you need an appliance, go see these guys. They will do whatever they need to to make you happy with your purchase.

a year or so ago, my brother needed a new laptop, so since im a bit of a computer geek i told him id go with him. best buy only carries the major brands, so as i dont know much about acer, we decided to ask one of the guys in the computer department for help. that turned out to be a huge mistake, because no one could be bothered to help us - everyone was attending to soccer moms with 3 kids in tow, trying to sell them the most expensive thing they could. my brother and i decided instead to just read the tags, and i used my iphone to do a little research as we stood around waiting for someone to assist us (everyone breezed by saying, "ill be with you in a minute"). after about 30 minutes of waiting for help that never came, we decided on our own what to buy and asked someone from a different department to get the laptop down from the high shelf. they told us only a person from the computer department could get it for us, so we had to wait again. finally someone came to get it down, only to tell us the computer was out of stock. frustrated, we drove to the south philly location because they DID have it in stock (as we found out after another long wait for someone to look that information up as well). we got there, knew exactly what we wanted, and waited ANOTHER hour (im not even exaggerating) for someone to walk up the ladder and hand us the computer we wanted. everyone was too busy to spare 60 seconds to grab it for us. i should have asked to see the manager, but i was just so disgusted and exhausted by the whole day that it didnt even cross my mind. in conclusion, best buy has great stuff ... if you can find someone who can be bothered to help you get it. i would think that someone would be tripping over themselves to help someone who is certainly making a purchase as opposed to those who are just "window shopping," but i guess best buy doesnt work that way. if they didnt have such great financing options, i would have stopped shopping there long ago.
