I am not generally a whiner/complainer. I appreciate retailers and the services they provide. But I feel compelled to write a review of JoAnns after several recent visits there where the service and treatment I received was abysmal from multiple clerks. I am a quilter and do several crafts that require materials sold at JoAnns so I like to go there for supplies. One visit was a week or two ago - I was one of only a few customers and the young man who waited on me was surly and unpleasant - Ordering me to a different register when I accidentally approached him from the wrong side. I came back later on Black Friday when there were no lines and politely asked about the location of a sale item. A sales clerk practically yelled at me in a belittling way, "Cant you read the flyer - open it up and whats it say at the top? Saturday! Is today Saturday?” As it turned out they had the same item in a slightly different color item shown on both the Friday and Saturday sides of the same flyer. I returned the next day to a different JoAnn’s and had similar rude treatment from 2 other clerks! And found out that they had only stocked 2 of a "door-buster" item that had been listed on sale. One of the items had been returned and was sitting behind the register and they refused to sell it to me. I also find the recent restructuring of the checkout line area totally unworkable. It is not well-marked and an inefficient use of space. Although JoAnn’s has a nice selection of fabric I am going to avoid returning at all costs from now on and do all my fabric shopping at Mill End where they are friendly and helpful, and all my craft shopping at Michaels where they are well-organized and nicer to their clientele. Too bad because the stock is useful and location is relatively convenient.

DONT go here after 8pm if you want customer service. They start announcing that they are closing in an hour, 55 minutes, 45 minutes, etc. I wish I were exaggerating. I went there to buy a pricey dress form and the floor staff was very rude. You would think that they would help me so I would leave their store faster. I asked for a tape measure so that I could compare my measurements to the medium. The employee not only gave me a broken measuring tape that didnt wrap around my bust completely, she talked down to me by pointing the measurements out on the box and said I meeded to match my measurements to that to determing my size. What did she think I asked for measuring tape for? Also, I had a coupon for 50% off of a regular priced item. When I began asking for help, I asked her if the dressform was on sale. She said, "No." I said that I would use my coupne and she told me numerous times that I couldnt and again, talked down to my about reading the fine print. NOWHERE on the coupon was the dressform excluded in the fine print. I ignored her and took the dressform to the front and guess what. 50% off of the dressform. The cashier was helpful, friendly and polite which is the only reason that I gave more than the lowest svore for this store. Everything is so expensive at this store that one is trained to use their coupons for a reasonable sale price. It is also out of the way for me so if I shop there, I must REALLY want something there. I miss Hancock Fabrics, they were so much nicer to me and had much better deals.

Im a male pro photographer that needs to occasionally buy fabric for backdrops. Its almost always all women in there working and shopping. However, everybody there is so sweet and helpful to me. They dont make me feel out of place at all. One worker even saved me some money by showing me how to sign up for coupons on my smartphone! Thank you!

Good selection but never enough people working. Always waiting for one thing to be cut while someone is telling their life story about why they are getting 43 different types of fabric.

I do like this store, but it feels like something is missing. It has all the crafting, sewing, etc, but not enough of any. I have left, not finding what I need many times.

This store has a little bit of everything. Larger selection of yarn and crafts. The fabric selections isnt what it used to be, but still good too.

Okay store but is more expensive than micheals usually. Also they have a very limited amount of each fabric and it is never enough for what I need.
