We ate at Hi Point this morning with our two young children. Everything was fine until we were approached by one of the staff at the end of our meal and accused of not paying our bill. She presented us with a bill for another table and we explained that we had already paid ours at the counter when we ordered. A minute later the same employee returned and adamantly insisted that we had not paid our bill again loudly in front of a full restaurant of people. We were embarrassed at this point and again explained that we had paid our bill. Another employee then vouched for us having already paid our bill while I tried to retrieve our digital receipt on my phone. The woman then huffed off apparently dissatisfied. We left quickly being extremely humiliated as the entire restaurant looked at us like a bunch of thieves. I re-entered shortly afterwards in an attempt to talk to a manager about the horrible treatment we had just received and was able to speak to a morning manager who refunded us half of our meal at request. The original employee stood in the background behind her shouting at me that I was a "liar" and that I was "harassing her in her workplace". I have never met this woman before but she clearly brought some outside issues to work with her that day. I asked for the owners number and was told that they couldnt give it out because she was simply too busy to be bothered with such matters. We prefer to support local businesses but dont appreciate being abused when trying to enjoy a nice breakfast out with our children.

This may be Renos best kept secret. I almost dont want to leave a review so it stays a secret. haha. But Hi Point DESERVES as many customers as they can get, so Im putting in my own 5-star review. This place is so cool, quaint and unique. The first time I walked in, I said "It smells great in here!" The service is personable and truly-friendly, and the food is delicious and comes to you piping-hot. They even had a free little book room with an awesome upright piano! I was able to serenade the kitchen crew after my meal with Claude Debussys "Deux Arabesques, #2." :) The family Im a live-in au pair for is moving to Kings Row soon, and am SO happy about it. I look forward to giving this place my business as long as Im in Reno! :)

I used to be a regular here. Since the change in ownership, they ran off their amazing cooks, Mike and Jose and have completely alienated their regular customers. The new ownership came in and was only concerned about money. Previously? This used to be a coffee shop that cared about community and the people who supported them multiple times weekly. Now you are just a dollar sign walking in the door. The new chef is very.... average. Ownership treated their amazing cooks the wrong way and the quality of food has changed dramatically since then.

I used to live down the street from the shop and I wish I could have gone in more often! Since Ive moved away... Ive missed my local spot... they offer free wifi and have chalk tables for their guests to draw on. They also display and sell local art and have book clubs, live music, and all sorts of other events... in addition to a book shelf full of books for exchange. This is, hands-down, the best independent coffee shop in Reno.

Best place ever! The food is amazing (the Sunday brunches are to DIE for!) and the coffee is the best in town. The relaxed atmosphere is kid friendly too, with tables that can be drawn on with chalk, and a play area with toys and books. During the spring, summer and fall the outside tables are the best place to get a latte and a panini. If I lived closer Id live there!

I love going to Hi Point. The staff is excellent. The food is creative and made with love. I meet with clients and friends on a regular basis. Definitely try the Sunday brunch; it will never disappoint! Also, Sarah, the owner, creates seasonal specialty coffee drinks. You have to go!!!

Would rate zero if I could. Terrible service, always seem to be out of food on their menu and out of the last three drinks Ive ordered from there with almond milk 2 have been made with dairy. Luckily Im not severely allergic, but my stomach was definitely unhappy.

Great staff, everybody knows your name. This place got me through college! Eggy breakfast bagel is a revolution and the Santa Fe Scramble is eggtastic. Coffee...yes! Eat there, drink there.

At first glance I thought the prices were a little high but no higher than any other small business trying to make it. Try it sometime it was good.

We tried to visit this coffee shop on June 13, 2017. There was a sign on the door stating that the business is closed for good.

Somewhat "hidden" cafe in NW Reno, with a cozy/eclectic interior, and a few tables outside as well. Their chai latte was great!
