I used to go to this store often on my way home. I live nearby. The store was making around $1K a year on my small purchases of French cheese, prosciutto and Lambic beer. True, these items were slightly cheaper than in Smiths. This particular day I stopped at WinCo to pick up some fruits as a farewell present to my colleague and was heading out after spending $25, when I was stopped by two employees, Monica and Rebecca. "You cannot shop here anymore!” they said. You are stealing from us! You are coming here to steal our coffee beans! We are seeing you here pretty often." "Excuse me?" I said. "We have you on video," they said. Then it came to me...about a month ago I used their grinder to grind 2 packages of “Seattle 5” coffee beans that a visiting relative bought at Smiths by mistake. I brought the sealed packages into the store, asked an employee how to use the grinder, unsealed the beans, ground the coffee into the same “Seattle 5” packages and left. Were the "Seattle 5" coffee beans in sealed packages from this store? Nope, they were not. All coffee beans in this store are in bulk. The store does not carry “Seattle 5” beans in packages. It does not carry any packaged coffee beans. What was on video then? I do not care, I’d rather go to stores that deserve and respect their customers even if they charge a little more for their prosciutto.

THIS IS AMAZING!!! Went there just last week and decided to go back again the same day. Great prices that compete with Walmarts. The rows of bulk food bins in the SE corner of the store sets it a part from any experience Ive had to date: grain, nuts, candies, pastas, breakfast stuff (cereal and pancake batter), spices... Im told the other Winco has selections of honey at their bins! Its employee owned and friendly. The vegetables prices and quantities are on par with Seafood City and Walmart. its bag your own groceries. Crystal Geyser is also a good buy. Diet Coke and other soft drink liters are higher than Walmart for now but after a while I expect Wincos buyers to have that figured out. Its 24/7 and the parking lot is easily 70% full during the day and early evening. Now thats real competition for Walmart in these parts...

At first, I thought I had found something great. We are a zero waste family and finding bulk buy options without packaging is a must. Unfortunatly, I was harassed by several employees who told me that it violates a health code to use my own bags for bulk buys. An absolute lie!!!!!! If it is a store policy, then own up to it but lying to customers who not only live this lifestyle, but have made it a career will know better. This place has a great bulk section but the prices are not that different than competitors. They have not only lost my business but I will be sure to inform the 100k blog, Instagram, and Twitter followers of mine that this place is not to be trusted. Winco is a snake in the grass to the zero waste community and a black eye to the bulk industry.

Great store and after my experience today I am impressed with them even more. A man started following me in the store, asking me inappropriate questions and making me feel uncomfortable. I got far enough away from the man to discretely let someone know about the situation , and turns out theyd already been watching the man for a few minutes. Once I confirmed he was bothering me they immediately asked him to leave the store and when I was ready to leave the store an employee walked with me to my car to ensure the man was not waiting outside. I wish Id gotten the names of the individual employees, but Id like to thank them for their prompt and respectful actions in diffusing that situation.

They DO NOT Accept Credit Cards, and this little surprise comes after you spent an hour selecting items. For your Total Purchase you should be able to save money on many items however, some things are Cheaper elsewhere (ElSuper for Produce Sales) (Walmart for a better Selection of Gluten Free/ Low Carb special Brands) or have a much higher quality (Meats at COSTCO) (Bakery at Smiths). I bought No Sugar added Raisinettes in the Bulk items and bit into something very hard. At first I thought it was crystalized sugar so I put it into a cup of water, but it never dissolved - so be careful, this is a Budget Grocer and who knows where their stuff comes from.

WinCo foods has great produce prices when compared to Walmart. Strawberries were .87 cents a carton versus $2.50 at Walmart, for example. There were quite a few other deals that matched or beat Walmarts prices as well. I didnt get to explore the bulk section too much this trip but will next time around. There were a few toiletry items that are definitely much cheaper at Walmart; such as Mach 3 razors, shaving cream, and toilet paper, for example. Now the wife and I will have to make three stops for the most effective grocery shopping, Costco, Walmart and Winco. I cant wait to explore Winco in depth next time around to find the real bargains.

The first time I shopped at a Wincos was I Lancaster, CA. When the l heard there would be one here in Las Vegas I was very pleased. Each time I have shopped there the experience has been pleasant. However, today is the first of the month its busier than usual. They begin putting product on the sales floor around 9pm. The isle were crowed do to all the product in the middle of the lanes. The employees werent concerned that we as customers were having a difficult time maneuvering through the isles as we shopped. Please consider putting product out a little later.

I personally think that they do have great deals, especially for the named brand items, food or home products are very great! Definitely different from the typical "Wal-Mart" experience. On the other hand be very careful with the produce you pick, due to the the shelf life of I think all the "fresh" produce there Dont forget to check out the spice aisle where you are able to customize and blend any spice to create something perfect for your unique pallet!

Pros: - Inexpensive - Good quality food - Good variety of food and other items - Store brands for even better savings - They carry gluten free items Cons: - Can be a little dusty - Checkout is overwhelming if you have a cart full of groceries because you do your own bagging. - You cant pay with a credit card, only debit. What you need to get used to: - The layout is different from anyplace else, and that takes some getting used to.

My favorite grocery store overall. Good quality and selection on produce and good prices over all for most foods, Deli items, meats, packaged goods and dairy. Toiletries not so much. The store is open 24 hours. Deli open till 9 p.m. Bakery is just okay. No club card needed. You do need to bag your own groceries, Id rather do it anyway, no crushed items.
