I would not recommend Encore Bridal Boutique to anyone. At first, it seemed like a nice place to check out while I was in Vegas on other matters because they stock a lot of sizes and werent far from the strip. I called for a same-day appointment and Gretchen seemed nice on the phone. She had dresses pulled when I arrived, and seemed pretty friendly during the appointment. However . . . 1) I was lied to about pricing. This store sells consignment gowns, sample gowns, new gowns that are discontinued from their lines, etc. Most of the gowns pulled for me werent my style (which is fine) but a couple were interesting. When asked how much a gown originally retailed for, Gretchen indicated the gown was $4000-$5000 but she had it for $800. That seemed like an incredible deal. I looked up the gown on my phone by typing in the name of the designer (which was on the tags) and doing an image search until I found one that matched the dress. From the image I got the style number and then from there I searched for the price of that style number. I found the style, a dress two years old, and the original retail price: $899. $99 isnt much of a discount for a two-year-old style that is discontinued, but at least be honest with me about the original price. Dont try to pass off a gown thats less than $1K for 4-5K. 2) She also said a dress from Davids Bridal was originally $2500 and that she would give it to me for $600. Give me a break. Hardly any - if any - of Davids dresses are that much. Even the Vera and Olga lines there are less. It was a red flag. I looked up that gown for the purposes of this review and it was originally $649. It is also discontinued from Davids. So a discontinued, older dress, is discounted $49. Why wouldnt someone just go directly to Davids, already a more value-focused store, and buy a new dress with a nicer experience and nicer store? Yes, Davids store is nicer. Gretchen did say they had just moved back into their shop and apologized that it was in disarray, but it was hot, the bathroom was dirty and didnt have soap and it was not a typical bridal boutique experience. These things can be forgiven if you are in it for a deal but they only add insult to injury when she lies about pricing. 3) I felt like the closer I got to walking out, the harder the sell (I have x number of brides coming, this dress wont last, etc.). Plus, She didnt help us when we couldnt get a cab we called to come for an hour, basically indicating we had to leave the store to wait for the cab (when it was around 100 degrees outside). She said we could wait in a restaurant up the street. We were lucky and hailed a cab even though we werent on the strip itself and there were no cab stands around. All in all? I think you can probably get the same or better deals online or at another boutique without dealing with someone willing to lie straight to your face about your wedding dress.

This is a follow-up to my previous review about having to file a small claim with Gretchen at Encore Bridal. I am copy and pasting my email to her and her response. I just want everyone to know the kind of person they will be dealing with if they go to encore bridal. My email: I received your response today. Giving me back my gown is a completely acceptable resolution to this situation, considering that is all I wanted in the beginning and what I drove out to pick up the morning you stood me up. I appreciate your offer to return it to me. However, I have decided I do not want to waste one more minute of my time with you or your store, therefore, you are welcome to keep it as I do not intend to waste time coming to pick it up, and you are certainly not welcome in my home. I apologize for having to be so demanding throughout this entire process, but you really left me no choice. Im sure you are a wonderful person, but as a business owner, you are terrible. In your response letter you said that I defamed you on google. However, to defame someone means to attack somebody or somebodys reputation, character, or good name by making slanderous or libelous statements, neither of which I did. All of the statements I made in that review were absolutely true. You did in fact lie to me twice: 1) that you didnt have my phone number to call me the morning I was to pick up my dress and 2) the date that you said you were putting my check in the mail. As also stated in my review you did scream at me continually on the phone the morning I tried picking up my dress and then hung up on me, which I have a witness to. Nothing I said was untrue. I went back to look at that review this afternoon, and found yet another negative review from a bride-to-be who had a negative experience with you. Is it really the five people who wrote the reviews online and the one who filed the claim with the BBB, or is it you? The reason I have been so persistent with you is not because of the dress or the money. Its because as a customer I expect a level of respect and professionalism, neither of which you have shown me. All I wanted from you was for you to follow through with the things YOU said you were going to do. I dont feel like it is asking a lot for you to honor your word, but maybe it is. I wish you the best. Good luck with your store and your business. Her response (which she didnt need to respond at all. She should have just let it be): Again, you are wasting your time. Get a life Jennifer and quit trying to ruin others. You have way too much time on your hands. Maybe take a quilting or scrapbook course cause I am tired of hearing from you.

Im Not sure if the other people had any success with with shop, especially Gretchen- the owner. She is the most unprofessional and also i can say a thief!!!! I had a 6 dresses to sell. So i posted them to the craigslist. Next thing i know, Miss Gretchen Called and said: Hi! My name is bluh bluh bluh. I have a shop and your Casablanca dresses gonna fly off my shelf( selling quickly i guess) . Ok, I came over, Met Gretchen, Listen to the promises again and decide to give it a try. Turns out-wrong decision!!! I had a someone who needed my dress, So i called Gretchen. If i say i was in shock, Means nothing. She said that, i do have a contract with her( which is i have never sign!!) and also she is NOT GOING TO GIVE ME MY DRESSES BACK until 4 moth is over (I guess i missed the part when she did mentioned something about 4 month thing) if only she did say that before!!! So, it took me about a month to fight for my dresses to get it back. Frustrated!!! I had to call her numerous of times, besides the e-mails that was send her. Finally i have arrived to the shop, thinking if she wont release my dresses to me ill call the cops. Surprise!!! She decided to give them back to me. Only guess what?! She were short in two dresses!! Her story was: She sold one some time back( i guess she just forgot to mention that to me in my phone calls before!!) And the other dress is on hold for another customer. And the customer supposed to come and put a deposit on the dress. When i ask about the payment for the dress she sold, she said that she dont have a check book on her. She said she will be mail it over to my address. Its been about three weeks now. Just to make sure i did send her an e-mail with my home address next day a had pick up the dresses from her place. I know post office is not that great at the delivery, but im sure they would deliver her check to me by now, only if she would send it!!! Please dont go that place!!! I told her that i would like to sell my dress each for $350, she charged outrageous $650 on the dress for a customer. and then said that she will pay me a $300 for my dress, because the customer paid only $650. Make sense to you? To me either!!! Also, i am pretty sure she did rent my dresses out just because the condition of them wasnt the same as when a gave them to her. Ill keep you posted as soon as the payment for the dresses come!!!!
