Wow, TWELVE reviews for St. Charles Nissan ALL from 8 months ago and ALL 5-stars. Sure, thats real. Am I suggesting this dealership is shady? Read on. My experience started out well enough dealing with Nathan from St. Charles Hyundai (same lot, same company as far as I can tell). I bought two motorcycles but I guess they were technically traded into St. Charles Nissan because once I started dealing with them it was awful. 1. I got a call saying my check had cleared and I could pick up the titles. When I got there to pick up the bikes and titles, there was only one title. I was told I would have to come back for the second bike and title at a later date when my check cleared. This makes no sense. Did half my check clear? Were they willing to give me one motorcycle on good faith but not the other? I will never understand this. This was not a huge deal, but when the dealer is 45 minutes away thats an hour and a half and gas, both precious commodities. But what really got me was 2. that the dealer FORCED me to sign a "NOTICE OF SALVAGE, JUNK, REBUILD" or something like that for each bike. I said I would not, and enter the wannabe alpha male manager from SCN who kept saying incredibly stupid things like, "Its not for salvage, junk, or rebuild." To which I responded, "It is titled, salvage, junk, or rebuild." To which he responded, "It doesnt have a title." (referring to the paper with that exact title in capital letters, centered at the top of the page, you know...where a title goes). To which I responded, "These letters in all caps centered at the top of the page are not a title?" To which he circled back around into another of his ludicrous claims/lies. Ok, I get it - the mans job is to be pushy and intimidating to pressure people into decisions they dont want. That is to be expected at some dealerships. But to stare into my face with an absurd, bold face lie, and to maintain this through 4-5 cycles of the same argument was insulting to my intelligence, which only made the situation worse. When Nathan tried to intervene he was rudely told to be quiet by this manager, which made me even more angry. Had I not been getting a good deal on these bikes, I would have just left them and gotten my money back. Why did all this come about? Because the dealer "cant do safety inspections on motorcycles" and somehow they chose this affidavit form in lieu of that. It is Missouri law that vehicles sold by a dealer must be inspected. Im also fairly certain that anyone that can do a car inspection can do a bike inspection, because you look for the same things (lights, horn, brake pads, etc.) minus about fifty things from if you were doing a car. But what is truly shady here is that the dealer wanted me to sign an affidavit stating these motorcycles (which had less than 2,000 miles on them and no damage) were junk/salvage so that they could attempt to bypass Missouri law. I get that they were misguidedly trying to cover their hides, but that was the wrong approach to begin with (unethical, likely illegal), and then to try to bully me into it when I called them on it was too much. All this is aside from the fact that they could have had them independently inspected for $12/each, but I guess it was too much hassle to get them somewhere, so they just attempted to pass the hassle on to me in the form of now having these affidavits floating around their office. If they somehow end up with the state, I will be taking SCN to court. Like I said before, Nathan from St. Charles Hyundai was great. But St. Charles Nissan seems to be sloppily run (erroneous call that titles were ready, supposed inability to inspect bikes, absurd attempt to compensate for supposed inability to inspect bikes) . Beware!

Purchased a used an 2003 Ford Ranger 4X4 in August 2011. Summary: Sold me an unsafe vehicle with half dead battery, charges to hold vehicles pending sale and a 149$ paperwork fee. Details: I inquired about the vehicle over the phone and the salesmen stated that he required a 100$ upfront fee to hold the vehicle. This was silly because the vehicle had been sitting on the lot for 6 months. To their credit, they did not actually charge me for the holding fee. The salesmen stated that they charge a 149$ paperwork fee when I inquired about add-ons and fees. Salesmen said they do this for every sale. Drove to the dealership, truck was clean. Did a quick test drive, no problems. I had a cashiers check made out for the amount of truck which we negotiated by phone. The inspection was out of date because the vehicle had been sitting on the lot for so long so I had to wait about an hour while the inspection was performed. Note: Dealership did not have remote for the truck. Not a deal breaker for me but should have been indicative of their thoroughness and attention to detail about their stock. Signed and drove home. The safety inspection must not be any real meaningful inspection. The wheel bearings on the front drivers side were totally shot. Of course I only discovered this after driving for about 4 days and the front tire nearly flew off the vehicle on my way to work (I am a Soldier stationed at Fort Leonard Wood). I had to get a tow to our autocraft shop. The mechanic on duty stated that it was the worst case he had ever seen. I asked if the safety inspection should have caught it. He said yes. I asked him to type me a written deposition on the state of the wheel hub which he did and was awesome about. I spent the rest of the afternoon fixing the vehicle. According to the bonded and licensed mechanic, the vehicle should not have passed the safety inspection and should not have been issued a temp tag. Fortunately I was not on the freeway when this happened. Luckily no one was hurt and I have the resources to fix this problem. I called the dealership and told them what happened. They asked that I fax my receipts which I did. After several days and no contact I had to call again before they refunded me. After a few more day the truck broke down yet again. I had to get a jump start from my commander. Turns out the battery was bad and was actually a reconditioned battery. That may be the work of the previous owners but the inspection should have caught this as well. I do not recommended this dealership. The vehicle they sold me was unsafe and they charge pointless fees for no good reason. To their credit, they did refund my costs for the tow and parts for repair which was the very very least they could have done. They did so only grudgingly and after several phone calls and faxes. I will not even pursue them about the battery issue because I do not feel like spending time on the phone with them. I would not buy from them again. They knowingly sold me, a US Army Soldier an unsafe vehicle. The fact that they could sell a vehicle like that and sleep at night shows their integrity and character. I might not even brake if I saw them crossing the street given the regard for my safety they have shown. They hold profit in higher regard than the safety of their customers.

Initially, I decided to buy my new Rogue from here because they seemed upfront and willing to work with me to ensure I had the best price. Ill add that I dont have much experience buying a new car, this was only my second time - I trusted my fate to them a bit too much - as a result, Ive been experiencing buyers remorse all weekend. They located several Rogues nearby and explained they would have it at their location during the week for me to pick-up. I got a call last Wednesday that the car was coming in from Kentucky - stupid me - I didnt know anything about dealer trades. I assumed it was coming from Kentucky on a truck, perhaps a shipment they had been anticipating on receiving. I learned the hard way, when I went Thursday evening to pick up the car, that it had over 300 miles and someone else broke in my new car... disappointing. Again, I was ignorant and didnt know that they could even put those sort of miles on a new car and sell it, but they should have been upfront with me and explained this. Friday morning I actually get to drive it, and I realized that the sound quality on the well-loaded RV (I have the premium package, among other additions, but that does not include sound) I purchased was just not there... I cranked up a song and immediately had to turn it back down due to a muffled, grainy/scratchy sound coming from the speakers. I attempted to adjust the treble, bass, etc., to no avail. I went back to the dealer, and while they were nice, they said there was nothing they could do about the sound. There is no exchange policy here, apparently, as it was less than 24 hours. The sound is so bad that I was willing to pay to just upgrade to the SL, even though I do not need leather seats. They explained they would only allow me to trade it in (meaning I might as well go throw thousands of dollars out the window), even though most of their competitors have an exchange policy within 72 hours... so, while I wish I could say I had no regrets buying here, I do. They acted like they had no idea that their competitors had an exchange policy, which made me feel like they were being deceptive. Two lessons-learned I hope someone benefits from by reading this: (1) Please be aware of dealer trades and (2) be 110% sure you are satisfied with the purchase, because I found out that a test drive alone was not enough to really get to use all the features. And, they will not work with you once you do business with them. Im on day three of a brand new car that I cannot enjoy thoroughly, and am now having to consider an aftermarket upgrade, which is disappointing - if anyone knows of a place that could help with the poor stereo in this well-equipped car, please let me know. St Charles Nissan is not able to help me, even though I am sure this week they will be cashing my down-payment check and getting their commissions. :(
