My husband Casey Flower, brother-in-law David Flower and I had the absolute WORST experience trying to buy a car at West County Nissan yesterday. Test drove an Altima listed for 15,400. Loved the car - it was fairly priced and we would have bought it for sticker price. After having to go ten minutes at a time without seeing our salesman, Les, he finally came back and I told him we were very serious buyers, and if he gave us his bottom line we were likely to purchase right then and there. Les goes to "see what he can do" and comes back with NISSANS offer of 14,900. We decide to push our luck and say we will sign for 14,500 right now. He disappears for at least another ten minutes, comes back and says 14,900 is the best he can do – and to be aware that this other girl is looking at the same car. He gives us some space to discuss it and we decide that we are going to go for it, after all we would have bought it for 15,400 if they wouldnt have negotiated. Les comes back and says “Sorry guys, the best we can do is 15,400 because we need to make money off of the sale.” He starts showing us papers to explain why he can’t sell it to us at the price NISSAN gave us. These reasons included a Bose stereo system, alloy wheels and power seats - all features that this car didnt have. So we ask to talk to his manager and this is where the real problem begins. The self-proclaimed used car sales manager Hakim comes over and starts spouting off the same reasons on why he can’t sell us the car. All we want to know if why the hell THEY came back with a lower price and this man says he didnt do it, I didnt say a lower price and after finally understanding that we meant NISSAN as a whole he says (and I am directly quoting here) “I am not responsible for what the salesmen do or say.” Hakim MANAGES the sales people, does he not? Does that not make him accountable? If you think it ends here, you are wrong. Hakim decides he was had enough of this conversation, boasting at how they sell 250 cars a month and that we can leave if we don’t want the car. We ask who the hell came up with the lower price and get no answer. It’s obvious to him at this point there is no way in hell we will ever buy a car there, so he just walks away, behind the desk. We follow him ask him for his manager, and he ignores us. We ask for his manager’s name, and again he ignores us. Honestly, this is behavior I would expect from someone so disrespectful to potential customers, but the rest of the employees there also offer us no name. Instead we are told to “look it up online.” Well, the world works in mysterious ways because we drove down the street and found the identical car in a new model for more and 1,500 less. The salesman that helped us said this is the fourth sale he has made recently thanks to Hakim. I am sure there have been more than just those four. Moral of the story – don’t shop at West County Nissan. They are disrespectful and deceitful.

Ive been hesitant to write this review because I dont like writing negative reviews but Ive had enough. I bought a used 2009 Honda Civic from this place. A couple months after I bought it I noticed some dried glue residue around the right mirror. That mirror always vibrated more than the other one which made since after I saw the glue. Eventually that mirror popped off when I was adjusting it and all the plastic was broken. It looks like it was just set in place. I had to replace the clutch within the first year of owning this car. It still shifts horribly. It shifted like butter on my test drive. Shortly afterwards, it started getting stuck when trying to shift into 1st and 2nd gear. The car always was loud, I thought it was the sound of the engine. Eventually, when searching around for a mechanic to fix the shifting issues, I found out what was causing the noise. It has a broken engine mount and a cracked front left rotor. The car had been making the noises since I bought it so now I realize it was sold to me in that condition. Also, I got pulled over and got a ticket for having illegally tented windows. I will take some of the blame for that because I didnt ask if the tents were legal. I didnt think I had to ask at a dealership but I know now. Ive had to spend thousands of dollars to get this car into decent shape. The reason I went to a dealer was to avoid the hassle of people hiding problems with their old vehicles when they sell it to you. This is the first car I purchased from a dealer and its the worst by far. They also did two credit checks behind my back because my cosigner wasnt there. I guess they didnt want to wait so they ran my credit twice without my permission. When the guy came back from the back he said that for the pre approved loan I had with my bank I needed my cosigner there to complete the purchase. I was fresh out of college and didnt have credit but had a good job so he was unable to offer me a loan. Little did I know he ran my credit (Im guessing to offer me a loan to complete the sale faster). I did not ask him for a loan or to run my credit. I was already pre approved by my bank. All in all, I had a terrible experience and they sold me a greased up lemon. If you decide to do business with this establishment, please please have the car thoroughly checked out by a couple mechanics. I really dont want a hard working person to have to deal with all the car troubles Ive had to deal with.

I found an offer to take a test drive and get a $25 gift card and as soon as I registered for that, Jacqueline called to set up my test drive. I had been looking at an Escape, but figured I should drive the Rogue and compare. Jacqueline went to check if the one I wanted to drive was still available and on a busy Saturday, set the keys aside so that it would still be available when I came in - even after letting her know that I wasnt looking to buy that day. Arriving later in the day, Jacqueline met me and then passed me off to a salesman, Mike. He brought the Rogue and went for a drive. There were a lot of similarities to the Escape. The main difference, though, was that the Rogue is AWD and the price was $400 less than the equally equipped Escape. I gave Mike an offer and he couldnt make that work, and I was perfectly fine with walking away since I didnt have plans to buy anyway. He walked away again and came back with an offer within $200. It was a good price for the vehicle, so I didnt feel it was necessary to split hairs over such a small amount. So I agreed if I could get a decent interest rate. While we sat in the customer lounge enjoying the complimentary snacks and drinks, Hakim stopped by and introduced himself and apologized for the wait... Steve was able to get a great interest rate for me, and the deal was done. They needed one extra thing from me that I didnt have, but we signed anyway and I drove my car off the lot. When I went in two days later to make sure the extra documents were received, I was welcomed by Mike and Steve and got everything taken care of... and the Rogue got a bath since car washes are included (and after rain with pollen, it needed it!). Hakim even came out and said hello and made sure everything went smoothly. I got a great deal on a car and I didnt feel overly pressured. Mike was super nice and helpful and I got everything I needed. I would definitely recommend West County Nissan to a friend.
