Ive been getting all of my vintage console stuff from this guy for 10 years now... Atari 2600, NES, Gameboy (original), PS2 and original Xbox are what Im usually shopping for. I dont know what Id do if this shop ever disappeared. Even picked up a working Commodore 64 once - its like an endless video game garage sale. Great selection and dirt cheap (youll rarely have a need for eBay or Slackers after shopping here). I dont want to underrate the Game Traders current-gen selections, hes got everything, but for me what makes this place special is the fact its NOT your typical retail chain thing and thusly offers tons of things you wouldnt find anywhere else (except online, for 5x the price).

Amazing store with a great selection and above average prices. The only complaint Ive had going there twice so far is that one time I accidentally bought metrioid prime hunters first hunt, thinking it was the full version of the game. Now that ds online servers were shut down the Cart is nearly worthless. I felt kind of felt bambozoled. Sence he was the one who took it out of the case and I referred to it as prime hunters I wish he would of warned me. I cant be too mad about it though sense its my fault and its not his responsibility to do that plus its only two dollars. Other than that, Ive never had I bad experience there.

Great place to buy & trade games! The shop owner knows videogames & always seems to have hard to find vintage games & tons of import stuff too. I have lost track of the number of times Brian has suggest a cult classic or under the radar gem that I otherwise would have overlooked. Very fair prices when compared to other used shops & he takes good care of repeat customers. The Game Trader is in Hawks Nest plaza is an institution for the hard core gamers in St. Charles county.

Hands down the single best retro game shop in the St. Louis area. Nearly every time I visit I find a title thats been on my radar to pick up but couldnt find after searching for years elsewhere. On top of that, the staff is extremely knowledge and very friendly and prices are often beyond great, typically being well below the average going rate of eBay pricing. Highly recommend to anyone searching for a great retro game shop

This is a game store for gamers. I suppose you could go somewhere else and maybe find someone who can answer your video game questions, but why bother when you can see The Game Trader and know the info is solid? As well as giving fair prices for trade in, hell try and fix your system before he sells you a new one. Take fifty cents and get either SC or SSC from his soda machine - its a random delight!

Great place to buy but I would never sell anything here again he gave me 50 for 1 supper video game arcade 1 and intellivison 2 and a sega dream cast along with 17 boxed games and 20 not complete rip off
