A lifesaver. I was just north of Springfield, bicycling the Transamerica, when my front fork broke. OK, breaking a front fork is a story all by itself -- but I wont post it here on Yelp. What I will say is that Eric and the team at Sunshine Bike Shop (SBS) saved me. They called around to find a new fork (I needed 295-300mm -- which is not typical). They found a shop in town with the fork, we got it and SBS team installed it. While working the fork, they also gave my Merlin road bike a quick overhaul - truing a wheel, adjusting a front detailer slightly, and more. In a half a day I had a working bike back. They bike was in better shape than before the fork broke. Normally, this would end a great review. But when I checked out, Eric mentioned that repairs for "tourists" have no-fee labor. I had never heard of that, and actually felt a bit bad that they did all the work for no charge (other than parts). So, I browsed the store and bought some accessories for the next 1,400 miles to Virginia. I wish Eric and SBS would relocate to my home town, Charlottesville, VA. A bike shop like SBS would be a joy, and a huge commercial success once word got around. SBSs service and great attitude would put other bike shops out of business. This review was unsolicited. Its also the strongest review Ive ever given a bike shop (and Im nearly 3,000 miles across the USA on this ride alone). Thanks Eric and SBS team!

I was in the market for an adult trike. I went to one Springfield bike shop and they let me sit on their trike. Another bike shop kind of laughed and said they dont carry them because there is no market for them. My husband suggested we try.Sunshine Bike Shop. When I talked to the first person on the floor, she said she didnt know much about the trikes but she would get someone who did. In a flash one of the guys came over and asked me about my planned use of the trike. I told him I was fat and old. I was looking for a bike to ride for exercise. He apologized that they didnt have one on the floor but there was one in the back that they would be building this week. Two days later he called to let me know the trike was together and to come in and check it out. When we went in, he went to the back and brought the bike out. He said that he would take it outside and I could take it for a test drive. He was very patient with me and my questions. I rode around the parking lot and then down a side road. He watched me and told me he needed to raise the seat. Needless to say GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are picking it up the next time we go to Springfield.

As a newbie mountain biker, I found the customer focus at Sunshine to be solid and refreshing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I told them I had my first flat but I had no tube or tools, and I wanted to watch them change the flat so I could know how. They said bring the bike on in so I did, and Josh took my bike back immediately and started showing me how to change the tube, and more. Josh was great, efficient, kind, and focused and very helpful. As he worked, he told me not only about changing a tire, but also about tubeless tires, local trails, recommended gear, and more. Labor for fixing the flat was $8, and I also bought 3 tubes, 2 tube patch kits, a tire rim tool, and a valve adapter. Came back in 5 min later and bought my wife a new saddle. Very happy I found the place, like an oasis in the desert. I was back out riding that afternoon.

I went into Sunshine Bike Shop with two Jeep mountain bikes purchased from Walmart that had horrible brake issues. There was going to be a four day wait on repairs as they were booked up. The guy behind the counter was awesome enough to look over and adjust the brakes on both bikes, cleaned the rotors, adjusted cables and centered the pads. He told me to try them out for a bit and if there was anything still wrong, hed get me on the schedule. He charged me nothing, and the whole time gave me the impression he genuinely wanted me to enjoy my cycling experience, regardless of whether or not he made a sale. The adjustments he made fixed our issues, and the fellow couldnt have been more helpful, so they are now my go-to bike shop. Thanks for being awesome!

The guys in the shop are very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I have bought 4 bikes from Sunshine and will continue to do so in the future. I like to ride, but not very mechanically inclined so they have been extremely helpful in that regard. Some might say they are high, but I believe everything has a price. You could go to the internet and get a bike cheaper, but who will put it together? What about accessories? What about tried and true methods? That is what you are paying extra for and it is worth every single penny. Awesome job!!! Thanks Sunshine Bike Shop

I bought a mountain bike 20 years ago (Giant) and after steady to heavy use I went back and bought a new one a week or so ago and the staff could NOT have been any nicer more informed on their product and willingness to set up how ever many bikes I wanted to test ride ,which in my case was 6. I cant say it enough, if you buy a bike anywhere but Sunshine cycle you are missing out on old time customer service the kind where they focus on you and your needs until your satisfied . Thank you Sunshine cycle for being so helpful and appreciating your customers!!

The people at Sunshine Bike are knowledgeable, friendly, and love the bicycling community! I bought my two Giant bicycles there and one salesman in particular, Eric, took the time to help me find the right size/price bike for me, even though the shop was very busy each time I was there. Of course, you cant go wrong with a Giant, but its important that the bike fits and is adjusted to suit your body. These folks take the time to make sure youre happy with your purchase. Plus, free yearly tune-ups!

we bought my wife a bike 4 years ago and used it very little...the occasional family ride. my wife did a triathlon last summer and the derailleur cable broke in the race. i took it to sunshine to get the cable fixed and a tune up and they did it all for free. when you buy a bike there, you get maintenance for life. of course they are going to charge for repairs but i think they are going to help you out if you buy your bike from them. owner is a super sweet lady.
