Im so thankful that this place has been making the best donuts in town for over 30 years. The place is exactly as I remember it in the 80s, and frankly the complaints mentioned in some of the reviews are actually things that make this place great. They arent just trying to make a ton of volume and become a krispy kreme, part of what makes their donuts delicious are the small batches they are made in. You showed up at noon on Sunday and they were sold out? Thats because I showed up at 10 and stocked up; they arent just going to make extra on the off chance Bob shows up at noon and needs 2 dozen, because if the Bobs dont show up, donuts dont keep and they have to throw the donuts away, and that costs them money. In the age of dependency on credit cards, if you dont carry any cash on you, dont go here, or maybe just stop at one of the 25 atms on your drive there, you never know you might actually need that cash for something else even.

I live up near Topeka. Its sad that I have to drive all the way to Kansas City to find a decent donut but am I ever glad I did. I christen these THE BEST DONUTS. I had a cinnamon roll & a Bavarian cream filled chocolate iced donut. They are the most PILLOWY SOFTEST yeast dough donuts you will find. The pastry cream in the Bavarian was amazing -- not too sweet and not thick and globby. The chocolate on top was bar none. The cinnamon rolls (shaped more like a honey bun) were HUGE and delicious. I had them the day after I bought them and you wouldnt have known they were "day old". The lady in there was the most congenial type you dont see anymore. I hope I have more excuses to come back to KC for Fluffy Fresh Donuts!

Decent Enough Donuts. Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed once I tried Fluffy Fresh. I was expecting Shangri La or something after reading all of the reviews. I would say it was average at best, and I would not call these donuts "fluffy" for anything, at least the cake donuts. There were not any yeast/glazed donuts when I arrived on Sunday morning. I had a maple, a chocolate iced with nuts and an applesauce donut. All of them except for the applesauce, which was quite good, were unremarkable. Im not saying that Fluffy Fresh was bad, but it was not any better than any of the donut shops I usually frequent in other parts of town. Just fyi, they only take cash and checks, no debit cards.

Ill start with the good: their donuts taste great and are better than their competition (Krispy Kreme, etc.) However, its not worth the hassle to go there: 1) Cash/check only, no card 2) Donuts are twice as expensive as Krispy Kreme 3) Hours are terrible: theyre supposed to be open from 5 AM to 4 PM but Ive shown up before at noon to find the lights off and doors shut. 4) Limited stock: if you want a specific donut, you have to go early. They dont make new ones once they run out and they closed at 9 AM today because they sold enough. TLDR: the donuts are good but Fluffy Fresh is nowhere near the convenience, reliability, and value of shops like Krispy Kreme.

Have gone here for years. Always great. Love the cinnamon twists, choc iced raised/glazed, the very rich white filling or custard choc iced bismarcks, OMG!! I never eat them until I get them home (or any other donuts elsewhere) and can nuke them a few secs in the microwave. It makes ALL donuts 99% better:-) (on low) I could care less that they do not take credit cards---so take cash or write a check. No big deals guys for goodness sakes. Picky---you know it, so get some cash or write a check. Why give a low rating just for that? We are reviewing the donuts not payment type. picky picky----just gripe about something people:-)

Prime ingredients and perfect recipes are actually not as significant to remarkable cooking as are experience, expertise, procedure and love. The chocolate iced, cream filled, PERFECT cake donut has set me free. These are the best donuts Ive had in my life. Once in a blue moon, you taste food that completely stops you, and without a doubt, its the best youve ever had. You can only throw rocks at the competition now. The quest of finding the finest is over. The ultimate gastric orgasm has arrived.

Its 2016, and this place accepts cash or check only. Time to get with the times, spend a little bit of money, and allow people to pay with the most common form of payment. I came in ready to order 3 dozen donuts, and had to go to Dunkin Donuts around the block instead simply because they cant take the credit card

Best donuts around! I had heard from multiple people that these were the best donuts in Kansas City. So, of course, I had to check it out myself. I walked in with high expectations and the first bite exceeded them! I will most definitely be back! The apple cider donut is to die for.

These are the best donuts in the entire metropolitan area! My first time to experience the melt in your mouth glazed donuts was 37 years ago. They have whipped cream and Bavarian cream filled log johns that are pretty amazing also.

Aside from not taking debit cards Fluffy Donuts has amazing donuts, friendly staff, and a quaint atmosphere. The patrons were also all friendly as well. Just a great experience overall. Well be back whenever were in town.

I have only had the chocolate topped long john, but must say it was one of the best I have ever had. Light and fluffy inside with the right amount of crunch on the outside. Just delicious. Cant wait to go back.

The donuts are delicious, but you can only pay with cash or check. That threw me off a bit. Its the 21st century. Not sure Ill be back if I cant use a credit card. Luckily I had cash when I went.
