Never buy a vehicle from these people, you will regret it! My husband and I purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 from SS Auto in January 2010. Everything under the hood was fine. We signed all the papers and was told the title would be at the dealership for us in a few days. Took the truck home and a few days later my husband had to use the horn...didnt work. A vehicle will not pass an inspection with a non-working horn! So we called SS Auto and were told to take it to the Dodge dealership and that SS Auto would take care of everything. They called us to say it was done and gave us the total amount and said they would pay half and already have, we werent having that especially since they already said they would pay for all of it. We called the Dodge dealership and was told the total amount which just so happened to equal the amount given to us by SS Auto. SS Auto did NOT pay anything and told the mechanic at the Dodge dealership to lie to us about the amount! I called SS Auto back to request a copy of their receipt and that is when they became angry and verbally abusive toward me. We went ahead and paid for the horn to be fixed just so we could get our truck back. It also took over a month of going round and round with them just to get the title which they claimed to have had the entire time once I went to their lot and demanded they give it to me. Why a company would think it is ok to run a business this way is beyond me! I now have two friends that recently purchased vehicles from SS Auto because they forgot about our big ordeal and are going through the very identical problems with these people! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR MONEY AND PURCHASE THROUGH A REPUTABLE DEALER!!!

I bought a dodge ram from these people. When we looked at it, I told them I needed it by the end of the week. Husband pointed out everything that was wrong and that he wanted fixed. (radiator, hood lifts, window, ash tray, and cup holder.) Insured me that they would warranty it, along with finance the sales tax, do a tranny flush, and detail it. Not to mention told me the 4x4 is out, and they would give me the part to fix it since my husband is a mechanic, never received the part, and then Kevin denied ever saying such a thing. Nothing they said they would do was done when I got it. In fact, things were worse than when I looked at it. My reverse lights are out, its a repo truck (they told me they had paperwork from the owner), there is a brake light out, the torque converter is going out, two out of the four windows dont work, I cant lock the truck, had bad wipers on it, etc. THREE WEEKS later, I get the truck, with a 3 week temp tag, after Ive already been carrying insurance on it for a week, They would tell me I would have the truck on said day, at said time, and that day and time came, and never heard from anyone. I WILL NEVER be back, and whenever the subject comes up, I always make sure to tell anyone NEVER NEVER NEVER to go to this horrible, sketchy dealership. Im thankful I was the one to get this truck (at way over priced for its condition), rather than someone who has no idea what theyre doing. STEER CLEAR!

Silent Epiphany
When I was looking for a very specific car back in early 2012, SS Auto just so happened to have it, so I thought Id give them a try. They were friendly and courteous; trusting, too -- enough to let me drive the car over to the Kansas side to let my personal mechanic have a look at it! It got his thumbs up pending a couple repairs, (minor things, which SS Auto either fixed or took off the sticker price of the car), and I drove it away. Financing was scary and took a couple tries to get the payments where I wanted them, but they got it done and I was completely satisfied with what I got for my money, and my payment amounts. The car that I bought from them ended up being one of my favorite -- and best -- cars Ive ever owned. Ive heard of some bad experiences others have had with them, but mine wasnt one of them. That said, my advice to ANYONE looking to buy from SS Auto is still the same as I would give to anyone looking to buy a vehicle with over 60K on it: First, ask for the Carfax. Second, find a mechanic you trust and take it in for an opinion. Third, tell SS Auto your findings. I had literally ZERO issue working through things with them. Honest, easygoing people. Only dropping them down one star because their selection is limited, and their service department (which is small) can take a while for repairs.

I have been to this lot on a number of occasions to pick out a truck to purchase. I have been working with Denise. At first she seemed very nice and easy to work with. I finally decided on a truck I wanted and we agreed to a price and I was given the purchase order and gave the dealer 500 dollars to hold the truck for me. Later I noticed that the price of the truck had been marked up online, so I called to confirm that the price we agreed on was still good. I was assured by Denise that it was. NO that wasnt the case. When I went into sign the paper work Scott the finance manager told me they had to add on a Lender fee for of nearly $2500 dollars. I spoke with several other dealers to get a second opinion and was told by three different dealers this is an illegal practice.. They were trying to tack on and extra 2500 dollars that they should have covered as the Lenders Fee. DO NOT GO TO SS AUTO ON NORTH OAK in Gladstone UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR TIME WAISTED AND LIED TO ABOUT THE SALE PRICE OF THE CAR YOU HAVE PICKED OUT. Im highly disappointed with they way they did business and plan to let all my friends and co workers know how they conduct business like a bunch of crooks!

I rated this facility a 5 star because I loved it. The employees treat you the way they would treat a family member or a friend. I came to this used car lot after going to several others and test driving several cars. I called to see if the vehicle of interest was still available on their lot. They informed me it was available. I came in so frustrated from test driving so many terrible used cars that day I was ready to throw in the white towel. They build report quickly, understanding your needs and wants getting you in the vehicle that suits you and your needs. Mike was super friendly, knowledgeable and honest. KEVIN WAS AWESOME dealing with me coming in already on a fritz. Jimmy was friendly. I drove away in my car on a saturday. They did everything the could to make it easy and expedited the service. I AM A HAPPY CAMPER and would recommend anyone on a budget looking for a used vehicle to come to SS AUTO in Gladstone.!!!!(Bring your own gas, or money!) Side note: I HAVE MENTIONED I AM VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER, I WOULD HOWEVER MAKE ONE VERY SMALL SUGGESTION< >>>>> EVERY CAR SOLD SHOULD LEAVE THE LOT WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS!
