Alright. First time. I read the reviews and completely ready to love the place. The food must be good, there sure were a lot of people eating there. We were greeted nicely and told we could seat ourselves. There were a few empty tables, and the counter was free, but not one of the open spots were clean. Tables loaded with dirty dishes and/or covered with food in need of a wipe down. Not one. We sat at the none too clean counter and watched multiple servers move in front of us. Not one bothered to clean the space. The food prep area we could see was a mess. Then, one of the servers began to fold silverware into napkins directly in front of us while tables, including ours, sat cluttered and dirty. It was just too much. We left. I hope it was just a tough day, but there were too many employees in that small space for it to be so messy and disorganized. Given the excellent rating, it is hard to understand our experience.

This place is a diamond in the rough...my girlfriend and I just happened to stumble upon this quaint little place. The food and the service was FANTASTIC!!! We met the owner Brandon and he was so personable and helpful that we immediately felt at home. His wife was in labor and he had to go to the hospital to be by her side, we wish the best for both his family to be and his totally awesome business establishment! Keep it up Brandon, youre doing a great job of creating a fun and enjoyable gourmet restaurant/coffee house/local watering hole:)

Amazing food! Lunch options such as the Turkey and Cranberry Cutney Panini and Roast Beef Sandwich are recommended. Green tea is tasty and there are several wine, beer and liquor options if you need to wet your whistle. Coffee and tea also available. Basically it is worth the drive or bike depending. Located very close to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum so visiting School of the Wise after taking in the Arb makes for a perfect day. Staff is friendly and kind.

The Ultimate breakfast Egg Sandwich! I have used this place as a stopping point on longer day trips (bicycle). After about 30 miles in, this place is an oasis. I walk in sloppy and sweaty, but always get my bottles filled with a smile and no smug looks from other customers for wearing spandex. This place is upscale. Food great, espresso great, ice cream treats great, ice in my water bottles on a hot day, yes please :)

Excellent service, outstanding food, a perfectly priced menu, great atmosphere...School of the Wise has the restaurant business down pat. You often see established restaurants start to slip after 12 years of business, but you still get that feel of a "grand opening" kind of experience. The nitro cold press coffee was, hands down, the best cold coffee beverage Ive ever had.

Soups are always good and the classic roast beef panini is super good. The coffee is usually pretty good (usually get a mocha of some sort) but they arent very hot and cool off super quick in the ceramic mugs. If you get it in a to-go cup it stays warmer longer. The Mac and cheese is a must try, unless your cardiologist would get upset at you for doing it. Its awesome!

I was really impressed by this place. A cool atmosphere, awesome staff, and the food was off the charts. We met here for a breakfast meeting and everyone had a good time. The prices were very reasonable also for what you get.
