I personally worked at Donut Connection in the summer of 2012 and I highly discourage anyone from eating and/or working here. The back room where all the donuts are made is very unclean and Im not sure when the last time a health inspector took a good look at the place. There are fruit flies all over back there, and some of the equipment doesnt get cleaned as often as it should. A lot of the restaurant is in great need of repair. The owner never has any of his employees fill out new hire paperwork, not even an I-9 or W-4, yet taxes were still taken out of my checks. He bad talks his employees and his customers half the time hes in back making donuts. I was offered a new position after working there for roughly a month that required me to come in at 2am, sometimes 1am, and work until 9am or 10am. I would get ONE break at around 4:00am for a max of 10 minutes IF and ONLY IF I had iced and glazed enough donuts. I was not allowed any more breaks. I kept the position for roughly two weeks until I just couldnt take it anymore and I quit. He also never paid me for the overtime I put in on a daily basis, which is illegal. The donuts are of good quality and taste good, but if you have respect for yourselves and your families, I wouldnt suggest eating and/or working here.

Some of the other reviewers were from a few years ago, so I thought Id leave a new review since there is new ownership. This is not your high-end Starbucks shop, but its a classic donut shop in Shakopee, complete with old-school orange seats and countertops! :) The donuts are AMAZING. Seriously. And cheap. My husband and family and I were in there last fall (2014) and had a few donuts. We were talking to the lady serving us. We learned that the guy who owns this place now personally makes all the donuts, every day. He has a scale in the back where he weighs every donut - hes very particular and dedicated. Our girls love sitting on the round orange "spinny seats" (as they like to call them) and have a donut and chocolate milk. The coffee isnt the greatest, but we dont go there for the coffee, but for the DONUTS! :) Yummmm....

This place looks like a dump! It is filthy disgusting! I am surprised they are still in business without being up to code... There is dirt caked on the ceilings and layers of dust anywhere that is visible. The floor is so greasy I almost slipped on my way to the restroom! Oh and dont get me started on the restroom!! The equipment and pretty much everything I set my eyes on looks to be unsanitary! If the front of the house looks this bad, I hate to imagine the state of the back shop and to imagine they are preparing food in such an environment... I was so appalled by the condition of this place that I just couldnt bring myself to try the donuts! I dont care how highly people speak of this place, I will never go back!!!

Ive enjoyed their donuts for years overlooking that the building probably hasnt had $1.00 put into it since 1975. The price board still says Mr. Donut from the last business. As of late they dont open on Fridays and they close at noon other days. Today once again they literally had no donuts left by 11am. I noticed many customers and all were going to get shutout. This place has a management problem because you shouldnt run out of product consistently with an hour or more still to go in the day. I guess its time to find other options.

True to their time posted on google they are indeed open at 5am. (Which works well for me being an overnight worker)And the donut quality here is no joke. We grabbed a dozen donuts sampling the variety that they have on display. Every single donut was above and beyond our expectations from the honey glazed to the bavarian cream, all of it was exceptional. We are now hooked and will return regularly. BEST BAVARIAN CREAM EVER!

This is a rare breed. Your classic old school donut shop. This is the place the neighborhood comes to hang out and get a cup of coffee before heading off to work! Dont come looking for the fancy out of the box stuff. It is your classic classic old fashioned donuts. A few counter specials like a nice apple fritter yeast style and some long johns. A great place to feel Americana.

My dad and I used to go there all the time and I havent been in a while so when I saw that they hadnt changed anything it made all the cute memories come back. Super yummy donuts and best prices youll find for some donuts.

My girlfriend and I love this place! The donuts speak for themselves. The coffee is better than most and it has a nice small town feel. It is a great way to spend your sunday mornings.

Has really delicious cake donuts at a cheap price. Its a super low-key, small place. Optimal times to go there are before 8:30 or 9, because donut options start to become limited.

Good doughnuts are hard to find. This place has good doughnuts so you should go there and buy them. Dont waste your time or money with Cub doughnuts.
