Front desk staff is very friendly, the girls working there are great, Dr. Mckee is good but I would NOT recommend any other doctors there. However, they pressure you to buy contacts. They told me that getting a contact lens fitting was a law that you need to get done every two years. Insurance does not cover the $29.00 fee. I told the contact lens technician that I believed that I had one the year before. He did not even think of looking up my chart to save me the $29.00 and went ahead examining my eyes anyway. What a rip off. All he had to do was look in my chart and save me the $29.00 or in the LEAST could have had the decency to ask me if I wanted the fitting at all. After my eye exam, I was put in a room to "talk about contacts." I waited almost 20 minutes. Then returned to the front desk where I was told would be about "Ten more minutes." As the technician was helping someone with glasses. Who wants to wait that long just to discuss lenses? Lenses are also grossly overpriced. Worker got upset when I told them I would like to look elsewhere. I left with prescription and went to order the SAME contacts online for $125.00 LESS then what they are charging. When this place was contacted, they would not approve giving my prescription for contacts elsewhere. Apparently, getting an eye exam there isnt enough. You MUST also buy your contacts and eyeglasses there or they will not release permission to any other place to get them. I also had a problem the year before with high pressure tactics of ordering solely from them. Unless you are sure you want glasses/contacts from this place, please avoid as it is too difficult to get your prescription ordered somewhere else. These people should be ashamed of themselves! When I asked if I could get my prescription and order my contacts somewhere else, they would NOT answer me and changed the subject. Spending all that time getting an exam to find I cannot get corrective lenses anywhere else is illegal. If they do not resolve, I will contact the Better Business Bureau. Please beware of this place and NEVER go there for a routine exam, and if you do, make sure and tell them if you have NO intention of buying contacts/glasses there.

Extremely disappointed says it well. Ive always worn glasses, and get new ones fairly often. Ive been all over, and to a lot of optometrists/opticians. Compared to the rest, St. Paul Eye falls almost to the bottom. Doctor(I forget his name, sorry) wasnt a communicator. Im easy to talk to, and asked a few good questions. My queries elicited barely a few words from the doctor. So, despite what I feel was very poor chairside manner, I got a fairly good exam. I thought so, anywho. I came out with my spiffy new scrip and went to the co-located optician. Had I known then what I know now, I would have RUN out and gotten my glasses elsewhere. The glasses I got were really hard to wear. They suck. I kept at it, assuming that my eyes had changed a lot. Id had my most recent glasses for >4yrs. Well, its now been >2yrs. with the new ones, and I LOATHE em. My old ones are somewhat better. I could say a lot more, but the point is, you can do better than this place. Maybe another location is better, I have no idea. Just avoid the Roseville orifice, be kind to your eyes, folks.

Awesome A+++ experience! Was down to my last pair of contacts (with a tare) and walked across the hall from our Keller Williams Roseville office and let them know I was down to my last pair. They were able to get me in that same day (as a new patient), do an eye exam and get me an updated prescription as well as a new trial pair for my prescription contacts. I was very impressed with all the staff and service they provided!

I would recommend Dr. Bachmeier, but the other staff are terrible (save for the front desk). The technicians were incredibly rude, and the optician seemed to care more about selling me contacts and glasses than anything else. A huge thumbs down to this business. Get your eyes checked elsewhere.

Been a patient at the St. Paul Eye Clinic for over 40 years. Great staff and Dr George is beyond fantastic and explains everything so you can understand it. I wouldnt go anywhere else if I had eye issues. Fantastic results from cataract surgery. The rest of my family feels the same way.
