Repeat customer LOST! Purchased DX5e, Nano Qx quad copter + a hefty supply of replacement blades, chassis, 4 extra batteries, 2 usb battery chargers, a dynamite prophet precept battery charger, 11.1 3000ma lipo battery, 40amp BEC, prop, and a 400 brushless out runner motor. You think youd get a little love when you realize the motor suggested for purchase (unused still in box) needs to be sized up to a 460, a $5 increase of price I was happy to make up the difference. Johns reply was, "I already replaced the item in stock (had 2 in stock) and didnt want to sit on the extra stock, but would offer to buy it back for a $25 store credit ( roughly 1/2 the cost of motor)." I said no thanks. Went over and put my drone plane back in box. Said to older gentleman who had helped me pick out 4 servos, 4 servo extension cables, wire connectors, and the 460 motor to complete the drone that I wouldnt be needing those parts anymore and thanked him for his time and shook his hand and left HUB HOBBY for the last time. My only regret is not figuring out how to give 0 stars for this review. ....Apology not accepted. I had receipt available, you chose not to look at it. Motor redesign?...yeah thats why its being sold under same name & model, even same box design, at the exact same price....I dont think so. I figured a cheese response to save face was coming. No matter, I took my business elsewhere to HOBBY WAREHOUSE in Richfield where i was given plenty of options to finish up my 4 month RC plane project up correctly and is now ready to fly.

Hub Hobby is more of a toy store than a hobby shop. If you want to get started in RC helicopters, they will "help" you, but Ive found that their "help" and selling me something go hand in hand. I bought two Blade Helis from Hub Hobby, the SR 120 and MCPX BL. The SR 120 is fantastic for a beginner, they got that part right, but when I wanted to move up to a collective pitch heli, they sold me the MCPX (stupid me), which is extremely difficult to learn on. At that point they should have had me try a 450 size heli (or something similar) on a buddy box so I could learn a little. (450s fly SO much easier than a micro, but they didnt say anything about that) To boot, their staff members treat you like a simpleton, and the one fat guy is simply a jerk, no two ways about it. (Youll know him when you talk to him, hes mean) You wanna learn how to fly RC helicopters? Look up Heliplay R/C over in Oakdale, Dave there will actually care about getting you into the hobby, not making money. In closing, Hub Hobby is great for toys, but look elsewhere when youre looking to buy RC Helicopters and know little to nothing about them.

Had a great time this evening at Hub Hobby. The store is huge and their selection is amazing. Our young daughter loved seeing all the airplanes on display and the charming model railroad (including cow-abducting aliens and Godzilla!). She also liked their selection of younger kid toys, too! The staff were very engaging and obviously knew a lot about their products and seemed eager to share. Saw one staffer take a model helicopter out of the box so that the customer could see exactly what was included. He knew every detail of how the model worked. Youd never see that in a big box store! Found great toys for two different kids and had a lot of fun.

(referencing the RC area) Ive never been treated poorly at this location, nor have I heard anyone being treated rudely, so I have to think that the other reviews stating otherwise are somewhat manufactured, likely by the competition (especially in the case of listing other shops by name). Customer service for me has always been great, the advice and troubleshooting help is top notch and to the point, and the selection is outstanding. The prices are somewhat higher than some of the other RC shops in town, but the service makes up for it.

I have gotten many remote controlled things here and the people there are very helpful when it comes to narrowing down what would fit what I am looking for. They also have a HUGE variety of things and it is fun to look through all of the unique stuff they have! This store has so many cool things that I think everybody should look through the entire store in person. You can view the inside of the store through Google Maps street view (which is awesome!!) but I would still recommend seeing it for yourself sometime!

I never got around to writing a review about this place... I was here about a year ago and i bought a 400$ dollar RC tank and when I opened it up it had scratches all over it, and the staff there told me it wasnt supposed to have scratches on it so he gave my my money back. I was lucky enough. Maybe I just that one guy who got the defective item. The first I staff talked to was very rude. The other staff seemed nicer. I might try this store again in the near future hoping Ill get better luck.

This hobby shop is one of the best I have ever been to. This place has lots of really neat toys and some really cool RC cars. I normally only go there to buy RC parts but I sometimes get distracted from all of the other stuff like model rockets. The staff know what they are doing and they know their content. Its a local shop and its easy to find it, right next to a gas station. Anyways I really like this shop and I hope others would come here to buy their products.

Amazing selection in all product categories. I have shopped this location for several years and often find what I am looking for. My rating would have been FAR higer, if the staff would engage with their customers. They are often heads down and you have to call upon them, fearing you are bothering them. However they are very knowledgeable, this is no question. It is just getting them to be heads up would make a large difference.

By far, the best hobby shop in the Twin Cities! From classic models, games and toys, to radio controlled aircraft, cars, boats, and drones - this place will get you set up for life! The parts are sometimes expensive, but the service and instant sale makes it worth it compared to ordering online. I wish they had more professional-grade stuff for multirotors like FPV and video/camera gear - but maybe soon?

A good place to kill an hour or two. Im not a model enthusiast, but the workers are friendly and a lot of them are passionate about some scale hobby or another, be it trains, RC vehicles, etc. so Id imagine it to be a good place to get some tips and help. They seem to have a pretty decent selection of stock and supplies. I easily found what I was looking for here when I was making a halloween costume.

Its a massive store with a huge variety of hobby tools, models, and accessories. Their selection of Gundam model kits is on par with stores dedicated just to anime merchandise in LA and San Francisco, though Hub Hobbys prices are way more competitive (pretty much what youd pay online or less if you count shipping). Its fun to just wander the aisles and see what near stuff is there, too.
