Allow me to tell you my UPS saga: I had pre-ordered an item about 4 months ago, and as luck would have it, it happens to get shipped when I am out of town for several weeks. I have a roommate who works frequently, so knowing we both would not be physically present to accept the package, I google the requirements for someone else besides myself to pick up this item from a UPS location. The UPS website states that either a) someone with the same address can pick it up, or b) I can give UPS written authorization to release the package. So I figure Ill ship it to this UPS Store and, being that we share the same address, have my roommate go pick it up. When my roommate stops by to pick it up, he gets told that they will not release it to anyone else by the addressee with photo ID. What about the requirements on the UPS site of having the same address? Still no. After several attempts, my roommate tells me its a no go. So I try to call myself. I google the phone number, and I get a guy from another UPS location (Lincoln Dr) even though the number is listed for 50th Street. This gentleman clearly does not want to deal with me. He loses his patience after about 5 seconds and starts talking over me to the point where we are both speaking full sentences over each other. He asks if Im sure I have the right store. I say well, this was the number that was given to me. He says, "you should google it to make sure." Yes, thank you. He finally gives me another number, I call, and it is not still this location, but now the location on Vernon Ave. I ask the new UPS guy to give me the phone number for this location, in Edina, on 50th Street. Hes a nice guy, but he then gives me the number back to the original number that Google gave me, to the very disgruntled man on Lincoln Dr. After my speaking to multiple UPS store employees, my roommate, who is still there waiting for us to sort this out, asks the "assistant manager" of this location to give him the direct number to this store which he reluctantly does, while telling my roommate, "calling wont change anything." Yet, I still try. Admittedly frustrated, I call Mr. Assistant Manager and he reiterates that nope, no way can he release the package. I explain to him the situation yet again - I am out of town for the next several weeks, my roommate has the same address, as per UPS protocol, can he please release the package. Again, nope. I say, ok, what do you need from me in order for my roommate to get this package. He says the only thing that he will accept is me in person with my government issued photo ID in hand to come pick up the package. I tell him, I am physically not there - what can I do. He says, maddeningly, that I can come in person with my government issued photo ID. Will they hold the package until I return? He says nope, it will get sent back within a week or so. At this point, as I hope you can understand dear reader, I am fairly agitated. Look, I understand rules are in place so a random schmuck cant say they are me and run off with my package - and the desire not to get sued if that might happen. But, there is also basic common sense as opposed to myopic and legalistic rule following. The complete lack of human empathy or consideration for real world situations by this location is one of the most senselessly asinine encounters I have had in dealing with a retail establishment, ever. Especially when UPS protocol, which is what I expected and followed, is not being implemented. If this item had been, say, medication that someone needed right away, what then? Someones health could be in jeopardy unless they are there with their photo ID? Its ridiculous. I call the UPS main line, they say that this UPS store is franchised and that sometimes franchises dont follow protocol & that UPS as a whole cannot control that - which would have been helpful to know before all of this. UPS implements that my item will be rescued from this black void of despair and redelivered, where my roommate will be allowed to sign for it, with a matching address, as protocol.

The young clerk with curly hair, beard and glasses does not understand what serving a customer is all about. I took a prepaid package in so my tv receivers could be shipped back to DISH. I did not have shipping tape to secure the package and he told me that next time to have the package taped and that he was not going to have me purchase a roll of tape from them now to secure the package but next time bring the item in taped up. All I needed was a 24 inch long by 2 inch wide piece to tape which was what he reached for on the roll by his counter. I said gee what customer service, and he said thank you. He did not seem to understand I was being sarcastic. I left thinking I wont ever go back to that place again.

Always get great service here. The people who complain about needing boxes taped -- just make sure it is ready to ship before you bring it in or pay the fee. Its not like the store makes any money off a pre-paid shipping label, so youre not really patronizing a local business if you bring in something that costs them money to ship for you; in fact since you are taking up their time and resources, theyd be better off without your business.

Went to the store to get some copies done. The staff there bent over backwards to help me get the color copies that I needed. I wanted some old photos copied with some adjustments for scratches and faded color. A young guy there really knew his stuff; using Adobe photoshop he got my copies better than I expected!! Kudos to the staff there.

Very poorly packed, extremely high priced, and shipped me 3 Giant boxes for items that could have easily fit in a single small box. If you are going to over charge me, the least you can do is tape the boxes shut before you ship them! Worst UPS store experience ever.

I have been here a couple of times and each time I was surprised at how friendly, outgoing, professional, quick and knowledgeable the staff is. Who ever does the training there must be a wizard, I am very impressed.

This place is a rip off. I have stopped in 2 times and left without even using their services and did the packing job done myself for 1/10 of what they wanted to charge!

I went in needing help from a notary, as well as a color copy and a fax. Josh was extremely cheerful and helpful. Great customer service!
