[edit 08-04-15] I spoke with Teresa the owner of the Maple Grove office and explained the issues that happened at her store. She was very nice and listened to my concerns. She offered to refund my money and I refused stating I didn’t write the review to get a refund. While she cant change what happened to me she did say she would talk with her people. I did agreed to give them another try if I had any new issues with my computer. I am changing the number of stars because of Teresa. I was very disappointed with the level of technical service I received with the work done on my computer. They had it for 5 days, I stopped in the store before dropping my desktop off asking some key questions. I was assured they could find the root of my issues. The video card needs a special adapter to hook up the monitor and I asked if they would like me to bring in the adapter and was told no. I even told them the model of my video card. We talked about possibly upgrading my video card. So I dropped my PC off on Saturday afternoon and was told I might be called on Sunday or Monday with recommendations. I didnt hear anything on Sunday by 3pm so my husband called for a status. He was told it hadnt made it on the bench. After 5 days they didn’t find any reason for the issues I was experiencing and recommended I re install my operating system. After paying for the service (?) they provided I didnt get a receipt of what it was they did. I was so frustrated with the previous conversation, not having a computer for 5 days that I didnt think at the time to ask for one. It seems to me the only solution they can offer is to wipe the computer. Yes they did say they didnt want to do that. But that was the only option provided. On Friday a friend of my who lives out of state and works on computers for his company remoted into my PC. He found several things that could be causing my issues. One thing he found was that I had two antivirus software’s running. Apparently I only thought I had uninstalled one. Why didnt Device Pitstop find that? My friend stated I do not need to reinstall my OS. I would recommend that you get a clear understanding of what will be happen to your computer when you drop it off.

I recently downloaded the Windows 10 Anniversary update on my laptop, and it fried my computer! It wouldnt even boot up. I took the it to Device Pitstop in Maple Grove and Max saved all the files on my hard drive, and reset my computer to the factory default. He reloaded all my files, ran the updates, and it was good to go. The only thing I had to do was load my programs. Since all my files were saved, I didnt lose a thing. The service was fast and efficient, and they didnt charge an arm and a leg like a lot of tech services do. Since Im not very tech savvy I really appreciated that Max was very patient explaining everything that had been done and what I had to do. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Device Pitstop as the best tech support in the Metropolitan area. Once again I had a problem with one of my computers. My Windows 7 Image manager was corrupted and wouldnt boot. I had already gone through the computer support services at Costco concierge and Dell computer support and spent many hours trying to fix this computer to no avail, my computer wouldnt reboot. The Device Pitstop technician who worked on my computer had it fixed in about 10 minutes, and said he spent so little time on it that he didnt charge me. Ive used Device Pitstop in the past and Ive always been impressed with how thorough, competent, efficient and professional they are. I think theyre the best computer repair and support service in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing computer or cell phone repair and support.

The guy behind the desk "offered" to take my fully functional Nexus 6 in exchange for a $99 repair I needed on another phone. The nexus 6 had a cracked screen but was fully functional and quite new. Entirely usable. For the uninitiated, the nexus 6 retails for around $500, yes you can find them cheaper. So, my response to him was, "that sounds like a ripoff". His response was, "just letting you know your options". The whole thing felt sleezy. His interest in my Nexus 6 from the moment I came in was apparent. So, I retrieved my other phone needing repairs from him and left saying I needed to think about it. My intention was and still is to not go back. If anyone else had sleazy experiences at this place, Id be curious to see your posts as well. Hard to tell if it was just one bad employee or if its more systemic. The fact that another employee was within earshot the entire time made me feel like they were all in on the grift and its more a result of the culture of this franchise or particular store. Sorry, I hate to post bad posts, I try to balance with good posts but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. No, not literally. ;o)

My sister-in-law broke her Samsung screen during a time of family crisis (a family member was in the hospital). I remembered the AT&T store saying there was a great repair place in town and so I suggested she go to the Device Pitstop in Maple Grove. They were great with her and her phone and got it done in about an hour. She was able to hurry back to the hospital and be able to communicate with everyone about the other family members health. Since they were so great, I decided to bring in a few things to sell and see if I could get anything for them. They werent interested in a couple of things (but they were really old, so I completely understand- heck, my kids didnt even want them), but they offered me a good price on a phone we didnt use anymore. I was able to get a little more in store credit so I turned around and purchased a newer laptop that my wife can play some Starcraft on. Great staff, great store, great experience.

Excellent customer service! I use my cell phone for my business and my touch screen wasnt working, which meant I essentially couldnt do anything on my phone. It wasnt eligible for replacement/repair through my cell phone provider. The manufacturer may have been able to repair/replace but it would have taken 2 weeks, and I couldnt wait that long since I use the phone so heavily for work. My husband brought my phone into Device Pitstop in Maple Grove, thinking we would need a new screen and digitizer. The technician took a look at my phone and realized the LCD cable just needed to be re-seated. He fixed it and since it was so simple he didnt charge us. This experience really made my day! The customer service and the way he interacted with customers was really impressive. They go above and beyond for sure, which is more than you can say for a lot of other companies out there. I would highly recommend them!
