I was very disappointed in this place. My husband and I went to rent a canoe, and were astounded by the rudeness and attitude we, as well as the people in line in front of us, received by the young blonde woman working. The people in front of us were renting bikes and asked her where the trail was. She responded something along the lines of, "right, right, left, right." They obviously had a very confused look on their faces, so she responded "Im not sure what you dont understand." My husband and I had never been there before, so after we payed for our canoe, we asked her where we go to get it. She responded "Where do you think you would go?" I responded, the river, and she said "well duh, they arent going to drag it up here for you just to drag it back down to the river." While yes that was common sense, I wasnt sure if I had to speak to anyone regarding getting my canoe, if we personally grabbed one and drug it down to the river, or if we just stood there and waited until they brought us one. The canoe ride itself was okay. The water is gross and its nothing special. There are a lot of people on the river, so its also not very relaxing. Finally, when we figured out where to end (with no thanks to the horrible instructions by the front desk woman), we had to wait an hour and 13 minutes for the van to come to bring us back. By that point, there were many people waiting, so we were crammed into a hot, sticky van like sardines. I will never return here. If it wasnt for the rudeness and unprofessional attitude by the lady at the front desk, I would maybe come back. However, the amount of attitude we received from her was unacceptable and I hope she never works another customer service job again.

We have our own kayaks and wanted to try the Cannon river. No sign up necessary(if you have your own), just show up and head down the river. Took about 3 minutes to pay and we were off. The 8 mile trip took us about 2 hours 30 minutes. It was fast moving and had lots of neat twists and turns, islands and small rapids. Some black flies were a little annoying, but tolerable. Get out at the red Rock and there were staff there to help us out of the river. Took about 20 minutes for the driver to get there and about ten minutes back to the start. Wish we would have gone on the 13 mile because it was beautiful and we were having fun. Next time!

This is a wonderful small town business that seems to care about a good experience. My friends and I rented a raft and got to float down the river on a beautiful day while sipping on our delicious drinks. Would recommend calling ahead to confirm reservations as river conditions always seem to vary. The shuttle service was on time and they loaded all our equipment for us. As a helpful tip there is a really cool rope swing on the river that was a blast. I went in late august and the water seemed to be just warm enough to be good for swimming. Cant wait for next summer.

The Cannon River has been designated a Wild and Scenic River for over 40 years. To describes it as a "low and smelly creek" runs counter to the official Minnesota State designation as a Wild and Scenic River. Being as such the river flow is unfettered and does fluctuate with rainfall. It truly is a scenic and wild gem of nature! I have been canoeing this stretch of the Cannon for over 40 years. Cannon Falls Canoe and Bike Rental offers great access to the river at reasonable rates. You wont regret choosing this outfit!

I love kayaking this river. My friend needed to rent a kayak and we tried Cannon Falls Canoe and Kayak rental. They didnt ask for her phone number or her ID. When we brought back the kayak at 7 pm, no one was there. We left it in the same place we picked it up, but felt awkward just leaving it without any checkout process. The kayaks were not well cared for and not all were up to date on their registration. On the bright side, it was only twenty dollars to rent a kayak for the afternoon.

Great scenery and friendly staff at the rental, but the bike we rented was a disappointment. We rented a tandem bike for our kids and it was kinda unstable compared to the Trek tandem bike weve owned for years. The seats on this Schwinn were very uncomfortable and the bike squeaked a lot. The staff did adjust the seats but our guests who rode the bike was not given any tips on riding a tandem which would have been helpful. Would not recommend renting their tandem bike.

Have been here three times. The first two times we visited here, we rented canoes and paddled down Cannon river. The third time we rented bikes and biked along the bike trail. The bikes were much better than what I expected from rental bikes and it takes very little effort to maintain your speed along the bike trail.The bike trail is very well maintained and it is a scenic trail along Cannon river. Definitely recommend you rent a bike here and enjoy a good biking trip.

This place is pretty unprofessional. I made reservations to go canoeing here and I live about an hour away. We had to arrange a babysittter and after driving there I was told they were not renting canoes that day due to the river being high. I can appreciate the need for safety, but would have appreciated a phone call telling me that my reservation could not be honored before I went through all the trouble of getting there.

We had a great time. The check in process was quick and efficient. They had the kayaks we had requested ready to go in just a couple of minutes. The river was beautiful. We went on a busy weekend...4th of July. Even though there were a lot of people on the river it didnt seem like it due to the river being wide. It was a wonderful day topped off with seeing a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree. We will definitely be going back.

This river was a great experience and perfect for an amateur going down with their family. We seen many wildlife on our way down including a couple American Bald Eagles! The pickup went smoothly and we didnt wait more than 5 min before someone was there to pick us up. Easy to get at from the cities, so I would highly recommend it. We will be trying the rafting on the next trip.

Great fun on the Cannon River and a very easy raft rental experience. Efficient on-line reservation and completion of required waiver forms. Great equipment and easy pick-up at the end of our 2+ hour float down the river. Saw majestic bald eagles, as well as osprey and great blue herons. A gorgeous day and relaxing fun for our reunion group.

My friend and I had a blast on the river! The staff was very friendly and the check in was simple. They explained where you need to go to get off the river and got us going right away. We did the 2 hr trip and it was beautiful. I would definitely do it again! I highly recommend this place!
