I want to like all my local health food stores a more than I do. The service is great, the two sister owners know their stuff; you can tell when you approach them with questions. Youll receive your short answer then reasons behind it all without pause. My reason for only three stars is sorta because the whole health food scene has become much too diluted and gimmicky. Its not the fault of the shop, its almost overwhelming to select products and shop around, theres just - so. many. products. I do also feel that because they are the boutiques of food that products are inherently more expensive, in my opinion sorta unnecessarily. Arent places like this supposed to be advocating to bring wellness to everyone at an affordable cost vs stocking shelves with premium products that are out of reach for many? I kinda feel the competition between local shops is who can carry the most stuff. Instead it needs to be who can provide personalized service and clean produce, dairy and meats at grocery box store prices. Do that then youll have my business. I like it, I dont like it. Im torn.

Every time I have went into THF they blew me off or offered me extremely over priced items for my mother suffering from Fibromyalgia. Not only are their manners and help sub par. They are ruining wyandotte. They bought a building next to theirs that held Tongues coffee in it. A business that brought our WHOLE community together. Raised their rent by 60%, had plans to put their own business in the spot. After the protests of their unethical practices, they ran Tongues out and left the building empty. Empty buildings make our city unattractive. This city and community is stronger than that. Horrible people own this business. Also the Willows Tree and Chelseas support THF, are to expensive and are rude business owners.

Of course they are pricier than Amazon on many things. They are an I dependently owned shop that opened on the main drag not a cheap or easy task. Ive gotten supplements that are not what they were advertised on Amazon or expired as well. That wont happen here. All the advice Ive been given about healing has been spot on as well. I like to shop locally whenever possible. I like to support local business people and my community instead of being surrounded by empty buildings. I was happy when they expanded to offer more groceries. I visit weekly for healthier options, love the deli and gluten free selections- much more convenient and not any pricier than going to Detroit to Whole Foods.

The owners are unethical, and have decided to increase rent 60% for Tongues Coffee that has been an established shop in that location for years now. They decided not to give any warning, and to ruin someones lively hood. I used to love total health foods and now I will NEVER go there again and will let all my friends and family that go to not go. How can someone run down a business for their own selfish reason, especially a local one in community that is all about helping one another. Completely wrong and Im happy so many people are taking a stand by boycotting total health foods and the story has been shared over 500 times and continues to grow.

The mark up on their inventory is incredible. The owners will say or do anything to get you to buy their products, Ive gone in there several times to see what theyd tell me for particular issues and all they would push is snake oil bull crap. Ive even heard from other people they would tell them they could stop their medications completely with a cabinet full of expensive supplements and I can only imagine they had dollar signs in their eyes when they said it. A healthy lifestyle is important and can transform lives, but selling people false hope should be illegal. And telling people to stop taking life saving medications is irresponsible.

Total Health Foods is a "go to" for us. My daughter and her husband are vegetarians. They have so many amazing options for us to add to our regular menu....making things great for everyone. Thanksgiving, with their help, is always amazing. I also have a precious granddaughter that eats organic. This Grandma relies heavily on the easy to prepare options like the Macaroni and Cheese. The deli, produce, breads, vitamins and supplements, personal products including shampoo, conditioner, soaps and so much more are such high quality and organic options. We are so lucky to have them in our neighborhood!

Would love to be more supportive of this local business but every time I go in there to spend some exhorbenant amount of money on whatever small thing Im in there to get, they follow me around like Im there to steal something. Super uncomfortable and off putting. Not very welcoming. I spend good money to support my town but this place makes me feel bad. Is it really that bad guys? Get some cameras and big mirrors. Leave your customers to shop in peace. And the pricing is unreasonable. It keeps me from shopping there. Very disappointing as Im a local who would prefer to shop in the dotte.

Ive been shopping at Total Health Foods since they opened in Wyandotte. I recommend this store to anyone who wants or needs personal service and is interested in better ways to improve their health. These owners and employees use many of their products and are well educated in the use of their merchandise. They only sell the highest quality items. They go above and beyond to make sure you get the product and service every costumer deserves. They are friendly and have always been honest and kind to me. Thank you Total Health and all your smiling employees.

I cant describe how happy I am to finally be able to balance my desire to buy local, organic, whole foods with my desire to shop local and support small business. With their new expansion, Total Health Foods has become a high quality and exciting replacement for the Whole Foods and Trader Joe stores where Ive become accustomed to shopping. I am happy to make a special trip to make a few purchases whenever Im in the area. Im excited to see them grow and for more people to see how wonderful this company is.

Bulk spices, Japanese ingredients (umeboshi, nori, dried tofu, etc.) great selection of dry and refrigerated goods, teas, supplements, cleaning and hygiene products and friendly help when needed. Prices are on the high end, as is to be expected, but its nice to be able to ask about the products from the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Maybe too friendly as I was left waiting at the checkout for a longer than reasonable amount of time while the cashier finished her conversation with another patron.

Unethical, greedy, and rude. I would not shop here in a million years after what they did to another local business. I refuse to support a "local" business that doesnt lift the community up. I cant be friends with someone who ships here either, so I recommend that everyone buys the things they need off of amazon or another health food store. THF doesnt have anything special besides their attitudes.

This business is unethical and immoral. The owners are greedy and raised the rent on Tonfues Coffee by 60% forcing them to close their doors soon. Tongues Coffee was my second home! You can remove my comment and block me but I will never go to total health foods and I willwill tell everyone I know to not shop there as well!
