I always had a great experience here until today. I walked in and asked if they still run a diagnoses when an engine light comes on. The able bodied gentleman politely told me that they do. However, "its too cold today to get down on my knees. Unless your car isnt running right, youll have to come back another day." - So I left. I then drove a mile up the road to another auto parts store. There, a man with obvious mobility problems followed me outside to assess my vehicle. Turns out I needed a $200 battery, which I bought from him. I completely understand that its no fun to kneel in cold snow and slush, but I needed my car assessed right away because I work on the road. The idea behind the "free engine light check" is to generate business by helping the customer find the part they need; and you sell auto parts. This is still a fine establishment, but I felt that my experience needed to be shared.

8:40 on a Monday Night.. Im a girl who knows a whole lot of nothing about cars & could have been taken advantage of...but instead I got 1st class treatment for FREE. Thought i needed a battery...they couldnt get a read from the portable monitor so the service clerk-Rich- unhooked my battery brought it in to be tested. My battery was fully charged. Rich cleaned up the connectors brought it back out and reinstalled battery & it started right up. All this just as he was to be going home. He was very gracious and his help meant the world to me. Thank you Rich!!

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS PLACE. RUDE-RUDE-RUDE. I purchased 2 brand new batteries for our jet skies and was told that they can charge my old old ones and contact me as soon as they were ready and no one ever contacted me back. I went in to pick up my battery and was told that they tossed it away. I called to speak to the manager and he was extremely rude and unprofessional and he all he had to say was sorry

Called to ask if a basic aftermarket antenna was in stock for my generic Silverado. They said I had to drive down and couldnt answer over the phone. They do not have a website to search basic parts, or much of anything else for that matter. I had no issues quickly finding what I needed from Amazon.

They have sonax! This place is awesome. Do not go anywhere else. Dont bother with autozone or any of the others. I remember seeing a place like this in Ohio once...but according to the website this is the last one in existence (the rest were bought out by another company).

I have been coming here since before I could drive. Steven has a great staff working for him through the years, a lot of them being with him for 10 years or more, which in my mind says a lot. Its great having a hometown parts store that can fulfill my auto needs.

Dont bother going to any of the other 3 or 4 auto parts stores in walled lake. This is the best. They consistently have the most knowledgeable, friendly staff. Customer service is king at this store.
