My wife and I went to their Sterling Heights location to purchase 2 new lights for our kitchen. We were working with Susan and at first she seemed a little put off like we were a bother to her. We ended up buying 3 lights for a substantial amount of money, all of which had to be ordered. the 2 kitchen lights came in and one was described in their ordering book as silver and was actually gold (not their fault). Then we were told the outdoor light was discontinued but she would sell us the floor model. I asked since it was a floor model with no box, instructions, warranty, been on everyday for who knows how long and possibly missing hardware, would she discount it? She said no! So their hours are terrible and I had to get off work early to be there before 6pm. She then tells me on the phone to hurry up because they close at 6pm and need to close promptly at that time due to the store alarm! While we were there the other salesperson told someone over the phone that she would be glad to wait past 6pm for them if they came in now. Apparently he was more important than us. So, while we were there returning the miscolored light she asked if we were interested in picking out another light and my wife told her we wont have time if we absolutley have to be out by 6pm (it was 5:50pm at that time). Susan advised us to go online and pick something out!!! She asked me if I still wanted the floor model for the outdoor light and I asked once again "are you discounting it at all"? She said to me "why would I, it has just been hanging there. Nothing is wrong with it." I told her its been discontinued AND she wouldnt even attempt to find a box, paperwork or the parts bag for it! She then tells me "Im just going to refund you your money, ok!" I said fine, got my money back and would never do business there again! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!

Today was the 2nd time weve done business with Ray Electric on Hall Rd. and both times theyve been GREAT. This time we had Michelle helping us and she couldnt have been any more helpful. She even took a glass shade off of a ceiling fan light that wasnt connected and put it up against a lit lightbulb so we could see what the color of the shade would actually be when the ceiling fan light was on. Previously we dealt with Marti who is just as helpful. I could go on and on about Michelle and Marti, but I think I would run out of space! By the way, as mentioned above, this wasnt the first time weve done business with Ray Lighting in Sterling Heights. All together we have purchased 4 lights and 3 ceiling fans.

I simply cant say enough good about our sales-person, Ms. Susan Hipsley. Not only did she help us choose the perfect piece for our living room (Quoizel floor lamp, style called: "Stephen"), she came out to our house personally to set it up for us....she then later returned, on her own personal time, to bring us a set of bulbs that she thought would look better than the standard-issue ones! This gal is not only a pleasure to deal with----the price she gave us was better than ANYTHING we saw online! Super-helpful, a dream to deal with.

Wonderful selection. Friendly knowledgeable staff who go the extra mile to make sure the customers needs are met. I worked with Mary who was so instrumental in guiding my decisions. I am so pleased with the results of my lighting picks. One item had to be ordered. It came in way ahead of what they promised. Pick up was easy and a very kind gentleman even loaded it in to my car. . I love the results of the new lights in my kitchen.

Yes u do have a sign on the door but, u do have inter net too, thats how I had found you and drove to you and found out that YOU WERE CLOSED, so thanks fir the inconvenience. we must make u enough money that u can close anytime u wish.

I did have to wait a long time to get help, but the salesman was apologetic. After that the switches they tried to sell me were either scratched or had paint on them. I would still give 3 stars because they have parts that other places dont.
