I just picked up my dress from Arena and I wish that I could rewind time and buy from somewhere else! While I appreciated being given space to find my own gown on my own during the selection process, my experiences went downhill once my dress came in. First of all, the dress that came in was not identical to the sample on which I had based my purchase upon. When I asked why the entire top portion of the dress was different, the sales consultant told me that they like to change samples occasionaly and make them unique. Then what is the point of the sample?! I based my $5000 dress buying decision on a dress that does not technically exist. They knew I would notice the difference but chose not to say anything. Also, if you cannot avoid buying your dress here due to location limitations, DO NOT LET THEM ALTER IT. Bernice, the tailor, is lazy and does not want to do any work. She will argue saying that the dress is made to look a certain way. The top of my dress was 2 sizes too big and she said it was made to look like that...what?! The day I picked up my dress, they took it in the back to steam it. 2.5 hours later, they came back saying the steamer ran out of water and that it would be another 15 minutes. Another 30 minutes later, they brought out my dress and said that they couldnt eliminate the wrinkles because of the ruching but that it would be fine once I put it on. How would the wrinkles magically disapear on the day of my wedding? Makes no sense. When I complained, they threw my dress in a plastic bag and sent me on my way. Buying my dress from Arena was the biggest mistake I have made throughout my wedding planning process. They are unprofessional and have no regard for customer satisfaction. Simply doing their jobs seems to be too difficult. After all, when I pay $5000 for a gown, I expect it to be altered to my specifications and perhaps it should be wrinkle free when I pick it up, no? I now have to find a different tailor to fix what should have been done at Arena. I am considering filing with the BBB.

Arena Bridal has a huge dress selection, from wedding gown, to bridesmaid dresses, to dresses for the moms. Everyone is very friendly and was willing to deal with my mother and I. Whom were extremely needy and picky. I tried on over 100 gowns preparing for my wedding. My dress of course was the 3rd one I had tried on and instantly fell in love with but my mom wasnt as impressed. I choose the Diva by Maggie Sottero. My mom feared the pieces at the bottom would come loose at my reception. They did. That of course was not the fault of Arena. I gave them a 4 out of 5 because of alterations. Which please let me remind everyone was free! Which was a great perk, and when my dress came in a mermaid and not a drop waist ball gown as I had thought it was (Maggie problem not Arena) they cut my dress in half and sewed it back together and it looked perfect afterwards!! My issue was with the bustle. My dress was bottom heavy and the bustle wasnt sewn in steardy enough. I didnt even make it through my first dance before it came apart. It was awful, I spent a half hour in the bathroom with a cocktail server who was also a seamstress who tried to sew it back together. All the buttons came loose and had fallen off. That lasted maybe another half hour. I ended up carrying my very heavy dress the whole night. Could barely dance. Mind you I realize the alterations were free and I am very thankful for everything Marge / Arena did for us but I wish the seamstress would have realized how bottom heavy my dress was and made sure everything was sewn in tight and used extra thread or something. OVERALL though - I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE, GREAT SELECTION, GREAT STAFF.

I recently purchased my bridal gown from Arena. I received the dress and was pleased with everything up until alterations started. The alteration services are awful! (I guess thats what you get with "free" alterations) The seamstress never once used a ruler and my hemline was completely uneven. They told me my dress would be ready on a saturday and I could come at any time. I showed up to find that my dress was not ready so I had to kill three hours in the area as I live an hour away from the shop. When I returned my dress appeared to be pressed and finished. I drove all the way home to find that the entire underskirt and the back of the dress were a wrinkled mess obviously not pressed. In addition to that the seamstress or someone lazily pinned my train up with ONE sewing needle which pulled a hole in the back of my dress! I called the store back in tears and extremely upset to be told a manager would get back with me. I am still waiting to hear from that manager and my wedding is in less than a week. I have taken pictures of my dress and am now taking it to another seamstress costing me $300 to fix the mess of a dress I received.

Just got back from this place, Ive never been so livid by such poor customer service. The day this place shuts down is the day to celebrate. I made sure to call first and ask if it was alright for me to stop by and scan through dresses without an appointment and this sweet young girl named Lea told me that was fine. I came in after work and Lea let me try on dresses, which was very nice of her because I wasnt expecting that. However, it seemed like she kept getting yelled at for helping me, because every time I would come back to my room, Id catch some old, skinny brunette lecturing her. I apologized to Leah (why am I apologizing, Im the potential paying customer). As I was leaving, I overheard this same trashy woman encouraging Lea to say "Next time you want to come in here you have to make an appointment." Poor sweet girl went from helpful and patient to "get the hell out"...I mean way to train your staff. I failed to check out reviews before I came in, so had I known they got this many negative ratings, I wouldve never wasted my time. Worst bridal salon Ive been to so far. Cheap dresses, garbage staff. Dont waste your time Im telling you.

I was hesitant to go here based on all the other bad ratings, but I found a dress in a catalog I really wanted to try on and they were the only ones in the metro-area that had it in stock. I had a wonderful experience even though they dont take appointments and I went on a Saturday. A sales associate helped me right away and everyone was very friendly and the environment was relaxed. I never felt like anyone was being pushy or that I was rushed, or that I even had to purchase through them. The selection is not huge but they do have a great variety of truly beautiful gowns. I ended up calling back later and ordering a dress which was different from the one I went in to see, and I easily could have found another one I loved just as much. The nice thing is that alterations are included in the price, so Im not sure why there are comments on here that they dont do alterations. I dont want to jinx myself after the dress comes in, but I really think that perhaps the other comments on here are from the Bridezilla type of girls, that want everyone to dote on them and have completely unrealistic expectations about buying a garment.
