My fiance and I were passing through Port Huron and wanted to check out something local and The Raven was definitely the most unique option we saw. The exterior and interior are both fantastic - you dont see bookshelves FULL of books lining the walls of a cafe or bar very often. I chose The Venetian and a cup of lobster bisque and they were both great. Unfortunately, it was the service that was lackluster. Our waiter was friendly and fairly attentive until he had our food order in and then he didnt approach our table voluntarily again unless he was bringing food until he brought the bill. This included the fact that he never brought us napkins or silverware with our meal even after I flagged him down to request them. Luckily, my soup already had a spoon on the plate, but my fiance had nothing. Its a good thing we were both having sandwiches because we waited so long that I ended up flagging down another waiter for napkins. I noticed that this was a problem with his other customers as well. Perhaps they were short staffed? Im hoping that was the excuse even though they didnt seem overly busy. If I go through Port Huron again soon, I would consider going back based on the food and atmosphere.

The service was outstanding !! Mike, the host, took care of me in every way possible. Brianna gave me the best service Ive EVER had. And the bartender, Danny (a beautiful woman) worked her tail off, but made me feel like I was the only customer. The food was delicious, the decor interesting. I found myself looking at all the pictures, reading the walls. And, all at a super reasonable price for food and drinks. They bent over backwards to make my job much easier. I was shooting the Boat Night for the Detroit News and moved my photos from The Raven. Speaking of that, the FREE wireless (with no hoops or prompts to agree to) was as fast as my wireless here at my home office. Id recommend anyone visiting Port Huron to dine and drink there. After all, its only 1/2 block from Black River.

I absolutely love this place. Its hard to find a nice little restaurant with all this pizzazz. Its fun to go on a weekend when they have a live band playing on the balcony. Its decorated so uniquely, you will find yourself getting lost in the writing on the walls or books on the shelf. Furthermore, the food and drink selections are excellent. Ive never tried a meal here that I havent liked. As for a drink, I always opt for the fruit and veggie green smoothie. It doesnt look appetizing, but it is sooo delicious and decorated with whip cream and green sprinkles. I often try to go here on my lunch breaks between classes but the parking lot is always so packed that I go somewhere else. Other than that, no complaints here but definitely give this place a shot!

I enjoyed the food and the drinks are very tasty but the waiter that served me tonight was incredibly rude and unpleasant. At first he seemed offended that all 5 of my group wanted separate checks. I am also 21 but could not be served alcohol because my license was still vertical (I have an enhanced license that is valid for a few years). The sandwich I had was also soggy. Of course this staffer could have been having a bad day or something his offensive behavior nonetheless ruined my dinner and the dinner of my friends. Try the chai its pretty great.

I appreciate the atmosphere here. Rustic, dark wood interior with that warm and cozy feel. This is a place of wonders for coffee drinkers and book readers alike. And not just coffee, but all kinds of delicious and comforting hot drinks. The upper level displays book shelves full of interesting reads on every wall. The food is worth mentioning too. The waitresses are helpful with recommendations on the menu. So grab lunch, dinner, or just relax with a drink and read until your hearts content.

The Raven is a great cafe to sit and enjoy a coffee, lunch, or a beer. The food is always good, and moderately priced. Beers and mixed drinks are at some of the best prices Ive seen, and they always feature some Michigan brews on tap. Coffees are good, and the ambiance cant be beat. There is usually live music on the weekends from local folk and cover bands who might not be the greatest musicians in the world, but they make your visit there that much more enjoyable.

Great place to have a coffee and relax. The atmosphere and service in this place are top notch. Coffee is great and they even offer spiked coffee beverages as well. Only hold back would from a 5 star is the volume of their live music. Its so loud it makes it hard to have a conversation. Best time to visit is just during their regular days when no live music is going on. Definitely love this place though and highly recommend you stop in for a visit

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is wonderful, as soon as you walk in the wonderful smells greet you. The people are extremely nice and the service is great. The food is amazing and the coffee is even better. In my opinion the best part about the place is the welcoming atmosphere and the wonderful people. Its always nice to come here and sit down and order a nice cup of hot coffee and study/do work on the computer.

I came here wanting to love this place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. I had a soup sampler of the tomato bisque and the chicken enchilada which were great. I also had the el dorado salad which was excellent. Unfortunately, the area that we sat in (next to the kitchen) was surrounded by gnats. One of them landed in another guests beer. Hopefully theyre able to figure out how to deal with this.

Almost all that Ive had here has been great. They have a ton of options for food, drinks, and alcohol. The prices range from fair to pricey. The service time is fast if you get something to go, but if not, it ranges from average to slow. They are almost always friendly. The healthy add-ins you can for drinks are awesome. The atmosphere is nice. Its definitely a go-to in the area for all types of people.

We were visiting from out of town and the Raven Cafe came highly recommended. It did not disappoint! Great little place to hang out and have a coffee flavored something (they have lots). We sat downstairs, but wished we would have venture upstairs to the library-looking portion of the cafe. This place is interesting, packed with pictures and random stuff - something everywhere you look.

This is the coffeehouse of my dreams. I dont live in Port Huron but I wish I did--this cafe would be such a great place to go and read and study. There are bookshelves on the walls, great photographs, interesting nooks and crannies, a view of the river, a nice patio. Also good food, good coffee, good alcoholic drinks. I am going to be stopping by here every time I go through Port Huron.

Great atmosphere and solid staff. A very welcome place that really delivers a nice place to eat, meet, and study. The only thing that really hinders their performance is there location. Parking can be hard to access and there arent enough charging spots for a coffee shop where I do most of my work. Also like the live music but it is normally just a little too loud for my liking.
